  • 07:59 Christian: So I’m a mechanical engineer who’s been doing
  • 08:02 research about 20 years.
  • 08:04 And, you know, Bible research, biblical archaeology was just
  • 08:07 something I did for my own, you know, spare time, that I wanted
  • 08:10 to understand what was going on, but the thing is is I kept
  • 08:13 finding that, you know, things weren’t matching up with what I
  • 08:16 was reading in the Bible and the way things were being
  • 08:18 interpreted and I think there was, you know, kind of a missing
  • 08:21 of a common sense sort of engineering type approach.
  • 08:24 So that’s what really got me in to start looking at the temple
  • 08:27 and, you know, writing about “The Temple Revealed” and things
  • 08:31 like that.
  • 08:32 That how is–you know, all the same facts are here, but maybe
  • 08:35 we don’t agree on the interpretations.
  • 08:38 And I think there’s a few things that have been missing from just
  • 08:40 an engineering perspective that I thought I could bring to
  • 08:42 the table.
  • 08:43 Joshua: Yeah.
  • 08:44 I mean, okay.
  • 08:46 I guess we’ll see.
  • 08:47 I don’t know what he figured out that, like, you know, thousands
  • 08:49 of years hasn’t, but yeah, okay, sure.
  • 08:51 Caleb: See, we can’t talk about the Third Temple, “The Temple of
  • 08:53 Doom” without first understanding the first and
  • 08:55 second temples, and that is Christian’s area of expertise.
  • 08:58 And also we came here first to the site of Qumran because the
  • 09:02 Essenes are a key.
  • 09:03 They’re like a linchpin to the story.
  • 09:05 You know, they were this cult, these believers of a very harsh
  • 09:10 version of Judaism.
  • 09:11 And there was about 200 that lived here in this community in
  • 09:15 Qumran, but Josephus says there was about 4,000 large in
  • 09:18 all Judea.
  • 09:19 Hirchie: Oh, like you said, they are different, right?
  • 09:22 I mean, these guys are a monistic cult, like you said.
  • 09:25 They–they’re in this place of they don’t get married, they
  • 09:28 have–everything is community property, there’s no individual
  • 09:32 wealth, which doesn’t seem all bad except for they go to pretty
  • 09:35 extreme measures.
  • 09:36 You know, they’re constantly every day purifying themselves
  • 09:39 in the mikva, making sure that they’re studying Scripture, and
  • 09:42 then recording it and writing it down, which actually leads us to
  • 09:46 why we’re here because they actually recorded these infamous
  • 09:50 and famous Dead Sea Scrolls.
  • 09:52 Caleb: For centuries, revisionist historians were
  • 09:54 declaring that the Bible had been altered significantly over
  • 09:58 time, you know, like the telephone game in history, but
  • 10:00 what they found on the scrolls were they were nearly identical
  • 10:04 with every John tittle to the Bible that we have today.
  • 10:08 These Essenes took great care to copy these scrolls so that we
  • 10:13 know that God’s Word that we have today is true, is accurate,
  • 10:16 and has not been altered according to people’s whims
  • 10:19 over time.
  • 10:21 Caleb: Let’s go unravel the mystery of the Essenes ’cause it
  • 10:23 leads to the temple treasures which leads to the temple.
  • 10:27 Hirchie: All right. After you, doctor.
  • 10:30 Joshua: Didn’t even have a satchel.
  • 10:32 Hirchie: And doctor.
  • 10:33 Joshua: Didn’t have a satchel.
  • 10:34 I got a satchel.
  • 10:36 You know I will hold my whip.
  • 10:37 Hirchie: You do have a whip.
  • 10:38 Joshua: I could put artifacts in here if I needed to.
  • 10:40 They belong in a museum.
  • 10:41 Everybody knows that.
  • 10:43 Hirchie: This was like a secret society.
  • 10:45 This was a group who were into mysticism and a little bit of
  • 10:49 the occult.
  • 10:50 Joshua: The Essenes straddled the line of Gnosticism.
  • 10:53 They were into divination, esoteric mysteries, astrology.
  • 10:56 They spoke magical incantations, carried charms and amulets, all
  • 11:00 in the attempt to get closer to God.
  • 11:03 Christian: Yeah, and they really followed a lot of the apocryphal
  • 11:06 texts, you know.
  • 11:07 And we think about these texts that have been found in these
  • 11:10 caves here as being like, oh, really early, you know,
  • 11:13 documents, right, something that we should consider.
  • 11:16 Well, we gotta remember that they did have those, you know,
  • 11:18 from the intertestamental period.
  • 11:20 I mean, centuries before, right?
  • 11:22 The 200-300 BC type time frame.
  • 11:25 And they weren’t accepted by the Jews at that time.
  • 11:27 They weren’t accepted in the time of Christ as being
  • 11:30 Scripture, right?
  • 11:31 So, you know, these are extrabiblical texts that really
  • 11:34 weren’t, you know, the Word of God.
  • 11:36 And so then I think they’re valuable, but we gotta treat
  • 11:39 them with caution.
  • 11:40 Caleb: That’s true.
  • 11:42 Case in point, the modern psychic and medium Edward Cayce,
  • 11:46 he believed that the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls verified
  • 11:49 his beliefs of his cult and his beliefs in the origins of the
  • 11:55 Essenes being linked with the Great White Brotherhood
  • 11:57 of Egypt.
  • 11:58 I mean, he was looking at this stuff and he said Jesus isn’t
  • 12:01 Essene, that he was a mystic, that he was a psychic, and he
  • 12:05 had these supernatural powers based upon the wisdom that was
  • 12:08 derived in these apocrypha Dead Sea Scrolls.
  • 12:11 Well, yeah, we know he was into new age, but so were the
  • 12:14 Essenes, just a little bit, you know, straddling that line.
  • 12:18 But even modern Jews with their obsession with Kabbalah and all
  • 12:22 their mystic rites and palm reading and stuff shows that
  • 12:25 that’s never really left the Jewish people during all these
  • 12:29 centuries, so.
  • 12:31 Hirchie: Sounds dangerous to me. Caleb: It is.
  • 12:33 Joshua: Doctor, pop quiz. Bible, good or bad?
  • 12:34 Go.
  • 12:35 Christian: Good.
  • 12:37 Caleb: See? Told you he was good.
  • 12:38 Joshua: You got that one, doc, but I’ll catch you next time.
  • 12:41 Caleb: Ezekiel 44:15, “‘But the Levitical priests, who are
  • 12:45 descendants of Zadok and who guarded my sanctuary when the
  • 12:48 Israelites went astray from me, are to come near to minister
  • 12:51 before me; they are to stand before me to offer sacrifices of
  • 12:55 fat and blood,’ declares the Sovereign Lord.”
  • 12:58 Hirchie: So the Essenes, they were critical of what they
  • 13:01 considered an impure bloodline of this second temple
  • 13:05 priesthood, which they weren’t all wrong, as we know, but what
  • 13:10 they believed is that they were actually the descendants of
  • 13:14 Zadok and that they were part of that Zadokian priest line
  • 13:18 right there.
  • 13:19 Joshua: The priesthood described in Ezekiel.
  • 13:21 Yeah, they were definitely hyperfocused on eschatology
  • 13:25 and prophecy.
  • 13:26 And the Essenes believed that the second temple was gonna be
  • 13:28 destroyed as well.
  • 13:29 Caleb: Well, these guys believed they were living in the end
  • 13:32 times basically.
  • 13:33 They were obsessed with prophecy and they considered all the
  • 13:37 things that were going on were signs of the end because of all
  • 13:40 the corruption they saw in the priesthood and with King Herod
  • 13:44 and all that.
  • 13:46 But it’s interesting, they were actually looking for the–a
  • 13:49 Messianic figure, the Messiah to come and he was gonna help them
  • 13:53 build a third temple even while the second temple was still in
  • 13:56 existence, but they rejected the calendar and the system that the
  • 14:01 Jews had and they kept to a prophetic solar calendar, which
  • 14:05 is interesting.
  • 14:06 Christian: Yeah.
  • 14:08 And that really is kinda one of the things that is against that
  • 14:10 whole Zadok calendar and even which is also in the book of
  • 14:13 Jubilees, is that they rejected the calibration of their months
  • 14:17 to the moon.
  • 14:19 And we know that the moon and the sun were both given, you
  • 14:22 know, for the times and the seasons.
  • 14:23 It’s how they actually declared the new year and the new months,
  • 14:27 and they were supposed to do that.
  • 14:28 They were supposed to use both the moon to set the number of
  • 14:31 days in a month, as well as to set their year to the sun
  • 14:35 periodically by adding an extra month.
  • 14:37 And so by rejecting that, they’re really sort of
  • 14:39 rejecting, you know, the biblical model that was given to
  • 14:41 them, and then I think that clearly explains why it was in
  • 14:45 the extrabiblical category and it wasn’t accepted as canon.
  • 14:49 Caleb: That’s right, but back to their preparations to build a
  • 14:51 third temple.
  • 14:52 To build a third temple, they would need articles and
  • 14:54 treasures to go in that temple.
  • 14:56 That’s another reason why we’re here.
  • 14:57 Hirchie: Treasures?

  • 17:05 the Romans actually took over from the rebellion.
  • 17:08 Joshua: That’s good then, yeah?
  • 17:10 Hirchie: Yeah, not really, but this path we’re walking on is
  • 17:12 the caves where they hid the Dead Sea Scrolls in case the
  • 17:16 marauder or the potato chip took over.
  • 17:19 You know, what’s crazy is as we’re walking up here, they hid
  • 17:23 these in this place, these are the oldest written versions of
  • 17:27 the Old Testament books aside from the book of Esther.
  • 17:30 And all of that was found and it just proves the validity of
  • 17:33 God’s Word.
  • 17:35 Christian: Not only that, but really the Messiah.
  • 17:38 You know, I mean, think about the fact that they had those
  • 17:40 from a couple centuries before Christ.
  • 17:44 You know, that all those prophecies that he fulfilled,
  • 17:46 300 prophecies or, you know, in that ballpark, they were all
  • 17:50 written down, recorded, and secured here.
  • 17:53 You know, copies of it that predate any of the–what
  • 17:57 happened to Christ in the first centuries to proving that he
  • 18:00 really was the Messiah that fulfilled all those prophecies.
  • 18:03 Joshua: Uh-huh.
  • 18:04 Well then you know about cave three, I assume, huh?
  • 18:06 Christian: No. Tell us about it.
  • 18:07 Joshua: Cave three 1952, new scroll, boom, they found it.
  • 18:11 Scroll’s different than all the other scrolls.
  • 18:13 This one?
  • 18:14 Caleb: Yeah.
  • 18:15 Joshua: This one’s written in a different kinda Hebrew, a
  • 18:17 Mishnaic Hebrew, dated centuries later.
  • 18:20 This wasn’t just any scroll, gentlemen.
  • 18:23 This was a treasure map.
  • 18:24 Where’d you go, brother?
  • 18:26 Oh, it was a treasure map.
  • 18:27 Caleb: Yes, the Copper Scroll is famous for giving very vague
  • 18:32 terms of 64 locations with the amounts of treasure listed of
  • 18:37 where they might be.
  • 18:38 Now, these locations are spread all across Jerusalem, you know,
  • 18:43 Jericho, all throughout Israel, even going up as far as
  • 18:46 Damascus, but what’s important about these treasures is they
  • 18:51 probably equaled some 4,600 talents of gold and silver,
  • 18:55 equal to $1 billion today.
  • 18:58 That’s a lot of money for people that, you know, vowed poverty
  • 19:01 and all that stuff, you know.
  • 19:03 They were gonna do something with this treasure.
  • 19:05 They were gonna use it for something important.
  • 19:07 They were temple treasures.
  • 19:10 Caleb: 1 Chronicles 22:14, “Solomon said, ‘I have taken
  • 19:14 great pains to provide for the temple of the Lord, a hundred
  • 19:17 thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver,
  • 19:21 quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and
  • 19:25 wood and stone.'”
  • 19:27 Caleb: All right, guys, it wasn’t just gold and silver
  • 19:30 pieces, coins that was listed on the Copper Scroll at these
  • 19:34 locations that was hidden, you know, it was actually temple
  • 19:37 treasures, like I mentioned as well, articles of the temple,
  • 19:40 priestly garments, you know, things that held oil, incense.
  • 19:45 Lemme read a quote that was translated from the
  • 19:49 copper scroll.
  • 19:50 It’s a description of column 3, treasure number 1, it says, “Dig
  • 19:54 down 9 cubits into the southern corner of the courtyard.
  • 19:57 There will be silver and gold vessels given as offerings,
  • 20:01 bowls, cups, sprinkling basins, libation tubes, and pitchers.
  • 20:05 Altogether they will be total 609 pieces.”
  • 20:10 That is a lot of treasure in one location, all used for
  • 20:14 the temple.
  • 20:15 Hirchie: So here’s a question.
  • 20:17 Why would a bunch of guys that are living a modernistic life, a
  • 20:20 vow of poverty, be hoarding that kinda treasure?
  • 20:25 Doesn’t really make a lot of sense.
  • 20:26 And then the question–the other question is, where is it
  • 20:28 come from?
  • 20:30 ‘Cause it couldn’t have come–you know, 70 AD, the
  • 20:32 destruction of the temple, it couldn’t have come there.
  • 20:34 You know, it wasn’t from Herod’s temple or the Herodian temple.
  • 20:37 I mean, it’s not there.
  • 20:38 So those items, more than likely, we’re talking about
  • 20:42 Solomon’s temple.
  • 20:43 We’re talking about treasure from that time.
  • 20:46 Caleb: That’s right.
  • 20:47 And thus that treasure would be very important, whoever
  • 20:49 finds it.
  • 20:51 Christian: It would be, but if they find it here and even with
  • 20:53 these Dead Sea Scrolls that they found here–right now we’re in
  • 20:56 Judea, but this part of Judea is also called the West Bank
  • 21:00 because we’re west of Jordan and Jordan is still contesting
  • 21:03 this land.
  • 21:05 Even though they’re the ones who started the war in 1967 and they
  • 21:09 lost, they still, you know, like to keep the name West Bank here,
  • 21:13 but it does make this contested territory.
  • 21:15 It is a challenge for the things that are found here because at
  • 21:19 first they became the property of Jordan, you know.
  • 21:21 So that’s a lot of the kinda the trouble about these sites here.
  • 21:26 Is if they did dig up the treasure, who would it
  • 21:28 belong to?
  • 21:29 Caleb: Oh, wow.
  • 21:31 Joshua: You know, guys, this is all very riveting information.
  • 21:33 I don’t like to drop this information too often, but I
  • 21:36 actually have the most experience when it comes to this
  • 21:39 Copper Scroll in this area.
  • 21:40 Did you know that? Did you know that, doctor?
  • 21:42 Doctor? Yeah.
  • 21:43 Seventeen years ago, one of my first trips to Zola Levitt
  • 21:47 Ministries was to a region not too far from here.
  • 21:50 We were actually looking for something else that was on the
  • 21:52 Copper Scroll list, did you know, and it’s known as the
  • 21:55 Silver Scroll.
  • 21:57 We went down into the Hyrcania Tunnel.
  • 21:59 So deep I couldn’t see the light of the sun anymore.
  • 22:03 That adventure right there, searching with Oren Gutfeld to
  • 22:06 find something that nobody else had ever seen, one of the
  • 22:09 monumental moments of my life.
  • 22:14 I mean, ask yourself, why would these Essenes be talking about a
  • 22:17 third temple when there was a perfectly good second temple
  • 22:20 still standing?
  • 22:21 Well, my friends, that’s because they understood a little bit of
  • 22:24 the prophecy coming from Ezekiel, coming from Daniel,
  • 22:28 which stated that temple is gonna get destroyed.
  • 22:31 And the one that was gonna be built did not match the one that
  • 22:33 was standing from Herod.
  • 22:35 Hirchie: You know, there is another cave, cave 11, and this
  • 22:38 is where they find a more infamous scroll, not like the
  • 22:42 Copper Scroll.
  • 22:44 They call this one the Temple Scroll.
  • 22:45 It’s the longest of all of them and it’s got some very
  • 22:48 interesting things.
  • 22:49 They rewrite the Torah and in it they actually give a whole
  • 22:54 ‘nother version of what the Lord said on Mount Sinai.
  • 22:57 They kind of imply what they want, which is a little
  • 23:01 bit dangerous.
  • 23:02 And I read in the Scriptures that that’s something we should
  • 23:04 really avoid doing.
  • 23:05 Caleb: That’s right.
  • 23:07 They’ve discovered that the language in the Temple Scroll is
  • 23:08 different from all the other scrolls.
  • 23:10 It was written by the Essenes.
  • 23:12 They had different festivals, new moons, and feasts, and first
  • 23:16 fruits feasts that are completely different from the
  • 23:18 Levitical ones.
  • 23:20 But back to that, the temple that they described that they
  • 23:22 were gonna build their third temple, it does differ from the
  • 23:26 fourth temple, but it’s more similar to the fourth temple
  • 23:29 than the second temple, which means that they were looking to
  • 23:32 that scroll of Ezekiel as being more pure than what Herod was
  • 23:36 doing and they didn’t like what Herod was doing with the
  • 23:38 second temple.
  • 23:39 Christian: Yeah, that’s true, ’cause he’s not fully Jewish,
  • 23:42 not properly, you know, keeping all the laws, so he definitely
  • 23:45 wasn’t supposed to be somebody who was taking a hand in
  • 23:47 building the temple.
  • 23:49 Joshua: Nope.
  • 23:50 How much Jewish did you say you were again, doctor?
  • 23:55 Yup.
  • 23:56 No, you’re good.
  • 23:57 Hirchie: You’re grafted in.
  • 23:59 You’re grafted in.
  • 24:00 It’s okay, you’re grafted in.
  • 24:02 Caleb: Zechariah 6:12-13, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying:
  • 24:07 ‘Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH.
  • 24:10 From His place He shall branch out, and He shall build the
  • 24:13 temple of the Lord; yes, He shall build the temple of
  • 24:16 the Lord.
  • 24:18 He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on His
  • 24:21 throne; so He shall be a priest on His throne, and the counsel
  • 24:25 of peace shall be between them both.'”
  • 24:30 Hirchie: Hold on, guys.
  • 24:31 So as we’re leaving here, you know, the Third Temple that they
  • 24:36 talk about it seems it’s called the Temple of Man.
  • 24:39 So it’s completely built by man.
  • 24:41 It’s completely derived by that.
  • 24:43 But we know that they also knew that there would be a fourth
  • 24:45 temple built by God.
  • 24:46 And this is actually found in Scriptures, you know, in
  • 24:48 Zechariah, in Ezekiel, but also in Enoch.
  • 24:52 And shockingly, these guys really liked the book of Enoch.
  • 24:56 Caleb: They sure did.
  • 24:57 They did believe that there was gonna be a new Jerusalem and
  • 25:00 that the structure of the New Jerusalem and this fourth temple
  • 25:05 were gonna be so large it couldn’t fit on the current
  • 25:07 grounds today, so they understood that God had to have
  • 25:09 a hand in this future temple.
  • 25:12 But their dimensions and their understanding of this fourth
  • 25:15 temple, which was Ezekiel’s temple is still different from
  • 25:17 their third temple, but they knew to get to that point there
  • 25:21 had to be a great battle that they were gonna be in the
  • 25:24 end times.
  • 25:25 They thought that great battle was coming soon.
  • 25:27 They had a minuscule understanding of Armageddon from
  • 25:29 Zechariah and some other prophets and they interpreted
  • 25:33 the players in Armageddon differently than what we know
  • 25:36 today, but the outcome they still believed was the same,
  • 25:39 that God would have to come renew the earth and make
  • 25:43 Jerusalem way bigger and different to fit a
  • 25:44 fourth temple.
  • 25:46 Joshua: Honestly, I’m surprised they got so many details right.
  • 25:50 It’s pretty crazy.
  • 25:51 I mean, obviously the Third Temple is gonna be the
  • 25:54 Tribulation Temple, okay, because Jerkface is gonna sit
  • 25:59 himself down on there and create the abomination of desolation.
  • 26:02 That’s when the fourth Temple comes into play.
  • 26:04 Christian: Yeah.
  • 26:05 Well, guys, well then lemme take you to where the past temples
  • 26:07 were so we can start to understand something about where
  • 26:10 the next temple is gonna be.
  • 26:12 Joshua: Yes.
  • 26:13 Christian: All right.
  • 26:15 Joshua: Eschatology.
  • 26:17 Christian: Doctor, you dropped this.
  • 26:18 Joshua: Doctor?
  • 26:20 Christian: Doctor.
  • 26:21 Joshua: Doctor?
  • 26:22 Did we just become best doctor friends?
  • 26:24 Christian: I guess so.
  • 26:25 Joshua: Doctor?
  • 26:26 I–man, I had it all wrong.
  • 26:28 I don’t even know what I was thinking.
  • 26:29 Two doctors, you and me, solving our communology, our–solving
  • 26:34 the–so we’re gonna solve it together, man.
  • 26:36 This is awesome.
  • 26:38 Joshua: Yeah.
  • 26:39 All right.
  • 26:41 Christian: He’s not really a doctor.
  • 26:45 Joshua: I’m a doctor.
  • 26:51 Joshua: Next week on the “Bearded Bible Brothers.”
  • 26:53 Caleb: We’re visiting a barely known site of Solomon’s Pools in
  • 26:56 the West Bank.
  • 26:58 Why do people rarely come here?
  • 26:59 Because it’s under control by the Palestinian Authority.
  • 27:02 Caleb: Look at this.
  • 27:03 All the way from here down to the end.
  • 27:05 It just keeps going, going.
  • 27:07 This is one stone, guys.
  • 27:11 Joshua: You know the Temple Mount cats are agents, right?
  • 27:13 They turned us in last time.
  • 27:16 Caleb: To the shock of no one, most world governments have
  • 27:19 turned against Israel, but unfortunately, so have many
  • 27:22 church congregations.
  • 27:23 Very few ministries are supporting the Jewish people or
  • 27:27 teaching the truth about Israel in God’s covenant plans.
  • 27:30 Joshua: In fact, if you scroll through social media, you’ll see
  • 27:32 feed after feed of churches teaching that the Jewish people
  • 27:35 are not God’s chosen people and not the fulfillment of
  • 27:38 the covenant.
  • 27:39 At Zola Levitt Ministries, we’ve been preaching the same message
  • 27:41 for 47 years.
  • 27:42 Why?
  • 27:44 Because God’s message does not change.
  • 27:45 The Jewish people are his chosen people, but he also made a way
  • 27:48 for the Gentile to be grafted in.
  • 27:50 Consider donating to this ministry to be a part today of
