- 01:55 It was a wedding feast.
- 01:57 Jeffrey: Yeah, the first one noted in the Gospel of John.
- 01:58 And that harks to a point you made elsewhere in the series:
- 02:01 God does little things.
- 02:02 There he is concerned about a wedding.
- 02:05 And there was a certain specific need there where the God of the
- 02:07 universe is interested in helping them even with that.
- 02:10 Kirsten: And he obeyed his earthly mum.
- 02:12 Jeffrey: He obeyed his earthly mum, took care about

- 02:20 having problems all over.
- 02:21 He can help with the little things.
- 02:23 Kirsten: That's good.
- 02:25 David: We take you in that spot in Israel right now with
- 02:26 Dr. Seif's teaching.
- 02:30 Jeffrey: Wedding ceremonies can be complex events.
- 02:35 This indeed was true in John chapter 2.
- 02:37 As you might recall, there was a problem with food and beverage.
- 02:42 Beverage management wasn't doing so good.
- 02:44 I mention that because as this thing is going on someone
- 02:47 reports to Yeshua, his own mother no less, "Look, that the
- 02:50 wine is gone out.
- 02:52 We have a problem.
- 02:53 Big day, a wedding."
- 02:55 Coming to you from Israel here, a wedding venue no less,
- 03:00 I'm reminded of the fact that, again, these things
- 03:02 can be very complex.
- 03:03 Someone wasn't sufficiently prepared for the moment and the
- 03:08 net result is there was a need at a critical time.
- 03:15 You might be in a place in your life where there's been a lack
- 03:17 of preparation.
- 03:18 The net result is there's a critical need.
- 03:21 Well, this is a program on miracles.
- 03:24 And I'm not interested in inventing miracles much as I am
- 03:28 beckoning individuals to return to the stories where they see
- 03:32 that miracles indeed take place.
- 03:35 I mentioned that hear they didn't have any wine.
- 03:38 Yeshua however had them pour water.
- 03:42 And the miracle was as the water was poured...
- 03:51 and it was transformed into wine.
- 03:55 The word transform, metamorphe, metamorphosis.
- 04:01 Transformed from the Latin trans means to crossover.
- 04:05 That is to say water crosses over into a new kind of form.
- 04:12 Now, when individuals take it in they're surprised as the wedding
- 04:20 feast is going on apparently uninterrupted by this.
- 04:23 This was a problem behind the scenes.
- 04:26 And, you know, when you have a business there can be a lot of
- 04:28 problems behind the scenes.
- 04:30 This is a problem behind the scenes.
- 04:32 And what happens then as the wedding event continues--and the
- 04:36 fruit of the vine, you know, some say it was fermented,
- 04:40 some not.
- 04:41 Don't want to get into that.
- 04:42 Whatever it was, it was water and then it was some grape
- 04:44 substance after that.
- 04:47 The point is those who experienced the new beverage
- 04:50 says, "Look, everyone brings out the good wine first, and then
- 04:54 when they're drunk, the worse, but you've reserved
- 04:57 the good until now."
- 05:01 You ever heard the expression the best is yet to come?
- 05:05 That which came later came better.
- 05:11 They say, "You see, there's some trickery.
- 05:12 You start off with the good wine and then you cheapen it
- 05:14 when people can't notice it."
- 05:16 Now, people have been known to do some creative things
- 05:20 at wedding.
- 05:21 I'm guilty as charged.
- 05:23 In my own wedding with Barry we had 500 in attendance.
- 05:26 I ask, "How much is a wedding cake for 500 people?"
- 05:29 I found out.
- 05:30 Well, after that I opted for a big tiered wedding cake.
- 05:34 Everything was fake except the top one that you cut.
- 05:38 So what happens is we go there, we cut, and then they take it
- 05:41 out, and I ordered loads of Costco.
- 05:45 No one knew the difference.
- 05:46 They were saying, "Oh, the cake."
- 05:48 Listen, they said,
- 05:49 "Look, this is beautiful. This is wonderful."
- 05:50 They didn't know the difference.
- 05:52 Here there's no trickery involved.
- 05:54 I wasn't involved in the wedding.
- 05:58 The point of this story is even if there's a problem because
- 06:02 someone doesn't prepare, there's a God that can do even far more
- 06:07 abundantly than people can ask and think.
- 06:10 And I want you to know that God didn't go out of business.
- 06:15 And by the way, this is a problem,
- 06:16 but it's not a critical need.
- 06:18 It's not someone who's paralyzed or blind from birth.
- 06:21 It's a wedding for goodness sake.
- 06:22 But God even cares about the special moments of our lives

- 06:33 As there's an example of one here, in the next segment

- 08:58 We're told we're by a place, Bethsaida.

- 09:09 for 38 years.
- 09:12 That's a really long time to be paralyzed in a bad way.
- 09:16 That's really a long time.
- 09:18 Now, Jesus ask him something and it's--I don't want to get in
- 09:21 trouble with the boss for this, that is God.
- 09:24 Jesus ask him something.
- 09:25 I mean, it sounds like a dumb question.
- 09:27 Jesus comes up to him and he says,
- 09:29 "Do you want to be healed?"

- 09:33 I just think I'll lie around for 37 years.
- 09:35 You know, I just think I'll lie around.

- 09:38 Like I said, I don't want to get in trouble with the Lord for it
- 09:40 and I'm just saying for a fact.
- 09:42 You would think that, of course, he would.

- 09:50 that he doesn't know the answer.
- 09:53 There's something else behind it 'cause he can read the heart.
- 09:56 But the point is if someone wants a miracle, they have to be

- 10:14 And, you know, I'd like to get it,

- 10:35 You know, there are a lot of people they're just stuck in

- 10:41 moment and getting up, it's a fascinating story.
- 10:45 In fact, the oldest, above ground church that has been on

- 10:55 There's a fellow there or a person in a Latin toga and he's

- 18:16 There are ventricles in our brain that nourish and take away

- 18:25 And so the doctor went on to say that because of this

- 18:31 There's a lot of pressure in her brain and that there's a way
- 18:36 to relieve the pressure and it's through a process
- 18:39 of called shunting.
- 18:40 In shunting they would put a tube into the ventricle of her

- 21:03 Caleb: That's right.
- 21:04 Char: And so they weren't going to do the shunt
- 21:05 right away.
- 21:07 They decided to put her in diuretics first to try to draw
- 21:10 the fluid off of her brain, but every week she'd get an
- 21:13 ultrasound, and the ultrasound did not show any decrease in the
- 21:17 ventricles of her brain.
- 21:19 So when she was 7 weeks old, the doctor said, "We're going to

- 21:26 scan so we have a more clear picture of what we're doing,
- 21:30 and we will meet with you tomorrow morning."

- 21:37 And the doctor came in with his films and put on that big light
- 21:39 box, and first he put up the film that showed the
- 21:42 ultrasounds, and yes, the ventricles were large even to a
- 21:46 non-medical eye.
- 21:48 They looked like rivers of water in her brain.
- 21:51 But then he put up the CAT scan from the previous day, and the
- 21:53 front ventricles were normal sized and the back ventricles
- 21:58 were only slightly larger than normal.
- 22:02 And he said, "These ventricles are okay at this size.
- 22:06 It's not causing pressure on the brain.
- 22:08 And this is an absolutely amazing thing."
- 22:12 And my husband said, "Well, this is the miracle we have been
- 22:14 praying for."
- 22:16 And the doctor said, "Call it what you want, but it's never
- 22:19 happened without surgical intervention."
