- 00:23 David: Well, today it's a big, Happy Hanukkah.
- 00:25 "Chag Sameach" to you, and Merry Christmas.
- 00:29 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yes.
- 00:30 Kirsten: Well, we're gonna do all of 'em,
- 00:31 get 'em all in there.
- 00:33 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yeah, "chag" is a term for "holiday."
- 00:35 "Sameach" comes from "simchah," which means "joy," and
- 00:39 the holidays are a joyous time.
- 00:41 I love 'em.
- 00:42 Kirsten: I've gotta ask you: Do you have any Hanukkah
- 00:44 traditions at home that you do?
- 00:46 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Oh, yeah, my kids served me notice,
- 00:47 growing up.
- 00:48 They says, "Dad, here's the deal: I know we're Jewish and
- 00:51 everything, you know, but we're celebrating both.
- 00:55 You know, if there's presents to be had,
- 00:57 we're all in," so we had eight days of Hanukkah and Christmas.
- 01:01 They wanted it all.
- 01:02 Kirsten: Oh, that's the best of both worlds.
- 01:03 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: They served me notice.
- 01:05 David: We were just talking here,
- 01:06 before we started this program, about Christmas season.
- 01:09 I love the season. It's busy.
- 01:11 Lots of Christmas music at our church that I lead.
- 01:15 Are you busy?
- 01:16 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yeah, some people think,
- 01:18 in a messianic world, "It's a sellout to be involved
- 01:20 in Christmas."
- 01:21 It's a holiday that doesn't have its roots in biblical
- 01:23 literature, but I'm glad the culture has found a way to
- 01:26 remember Jesus's arrival on planet earth,
- 01:29 and to celebrate it, I'm good with it.
- 01:31 Kirsten: It's a wonderful season to remember
- 01:35 the birth of our Savior.
- 01:36 It's also a great program to look ahead in 2023 to
- 01:40 the different series that we'll be bringing you.
- 01:43 Right now, we have a sneak peek all about the prophet Ezekiel.

- 01:55 male narrator: "Prophesy upon these bones and say unto them,
- 01:58 'O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.'"

- 02:28 narrator: "Ezekiel and the Mideast Piece Process."

- 02:36 narrator: In 586 B.C., the Lord spoke unto Ezekiel,
- 02:41 "Set thy face against Pharaoh and prophesy against all Egypt.
- 02:47 Say, 'Thus saith the Lord God, "Behold,
- 02:50 I am against thee.
- 02:52 All the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord
- 02:56 because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel."
- 03:00 "And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste in the midst
- 03:03 of the countries that are desolate."
- 03:05 "Neither shall it be inhabited 40 years."
- 03:10 ♪♪♪
- 03:13 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: We didn't create this picture
- 03:15 you're seeing.
- 03:16 We just walk into it, and what a sight it is.
- 03:19 The prophet Ezekiel says, like this town here,
- 03:22 that nation states that border Israel are going to be
- 03:26 devastated, and why is that?
- 03:28 Because there is a judgment brought to bear for their sins
- 03:31 against God, for their sins against Israel,
- 03:34 and the Lord is not a happy camper.
- 03:37 Eight chapters are invested in telling that story.
- 03:40 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Theodor Herzl was a newspaper reporter
- 03:44 in a bygone era.
- 03:47 An Austrian reporter, particularly,
- 03:50 he was covering the "Dreyfus Affair," a story how a Jewish
- 03:54 military officer was getting railroaded by the French.
- 03:58 He became convinced in the process of that,
- 04:00 that for all the Jews suffer, what Jews need is to return
- 04:05 to the ancestral homeland.
- 04:07 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: He became God's instrument to help
- 04:10 facilitate the miracle that's commemorated in this place where
- 04:15 it was celebrated and first announced to the world through
- 04:18 this microphone, in fact, Ben-Gurion spoke into it and
- 04:23 said, "Now is the time."
- 04:27 Well, what Ben-Gurion spoke years ago to the revered
- 04:33 delegates in this room, to the council members,
- 04:36 to Israel through national radio,
- 04:39 and to the world at large, what he spoke then through here was
- 04:43 actually presaged by the prophet here.
- 04:47 David: There's a word in this whole series that has stuck out
- 04:50 in my mind, and that word is "hope," hope for that generation
- 04:55 but also for us today.
- 04:56 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Indeed, and hope is in very high demand
- 04:59 and very short supply.
- 05:02 David: True.
- 05:03 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Someone asked me what I was hoping for,
- 05:05 what I was gonna be doing, anything special for the
- 05:07 Christmas season, and I said, "Yeah,
- 05:10 I'm gonna be giving Jesus a gift for his birthday."
- 05:13 I mention that because, when you have kids,
- 05:18 you know that, when you go to birthday parties, it's
- 05:19 the birthday boy or the birthday girl that gets the present.
- 05:22 Oftentimes, we use the Christmas season to get presents for
- 05:25 ourselves and each other.
- 05:28 How about for Jesus himself?
- 05:31 And a great way to give a gift to Jesus is to invest
- 05:35 in his kingdom.
- 05:37 You know, in the newer testament,
- 05:38 we're told they came with gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
- 05:42 We don't need that.
- 05:43 We just need dollars if you would be gracious and invest
- 05:47 to help us.
- 05:48 There's so much we wanna do in 2023.
- 05:51 We wanna go to Bethlehem, Israel,
- 05:54 all over the biblical lands, do dramatic vignettes,
- 05:58 and we can't do it without you.
- 06:00 Please give Jesus a gift for his birthday by making a gift,
- 06:05 by making a donation to "Our Jewish Roots."
- 06:09 Kirsten: It's a miracle that we have been able to stay on
- 06:12 the air since 1979.
- 06:15 He is still God of miracles, and speaking of,
- 06:17 you just filmed a brand-new series all about the miracles
- 06:20 that God has performed.
- 06:22 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yes, you know,
- 06:23 people are lookin' for breakthroughs in their life,
- 06:25 and it's good to know we have a breakthrough God,
- 06:30 and we wanted to explore that in the Bible how God comes through,
- 06:34 and he knows how to look after his own.
- 06:37 Kirsten: I like sneak peeks of things to come.
- 06:40 That's what we wanna show you right now on our brand-new
- 06:42 series, "The God of Miracles."
- 06:47 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Speaking of miracles,
- 06:48 in so many ways, Israel has come to life.
- 06:52 Ben Yehuda Street, for example, the son of Judah,
- 06:56 the name itself commemorates a fellow,
- 06:58 Ben Yehuda, who revived the Hebrew language that had fallen
- 07:00 into disuse, but with the miraculous emergence of the
- 07:06 nation state of Israel came the emergence of the language.
- 07:12 I'm here, drinking some pomegranate juice.
- 07:15 You know, pomegranates have a special place in Judaism--people
- 07:19 don't know that--because there's 613 seeds in a pomegranate,
- 07:24 arguably, and in the Torah, there's 613 pieces
- 07:27 of instruction, and so Jesus remembered the pomegranate
- 07:31 for that reason.
- 07:33 It's a reminder of life, it's a reminder of wisdom.
- 07:36 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: So I'm at the Southern Steps of the temple
- 07:39 complex in Jerusalem, and I see a concert,
- 07:41 140-some harpists being led by none other than Messianic
- 07:45 Jewish artist, Joshua Aaron.
- 07:47 Joshua Aaron: It's nice to run into you, my brother, heh.
- 07:50 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yeah, this wasn't planned, but you're here.
- 07:53 Josh, we're talkin' about miracles.
- 07:55 Anything in that resonate with you?
- 07:56 Joshua: Well, we're standing in a miracle country, Israel.
- 07:59 I'm living here with my wife and my five kids,
- 08:01 but, for me, it goes back to my mom.
- 08:04 My grandmother fled the Holocaust in the early '40s.
- 08:07 My uncle was born here, my mom's brother,
- 08:09 in Jerusalem, and then my mom was born in January of 1948,
- 08:12 in Haifa.
- 08:13 So, for us, I remind my kids all the time about living in
- 08:16 the land of miracles.
- 08:17 Israel is a land that should not exist historically.
- 08:20 It's never happened where a people were scattered and
- 08:23 brought back together again, and that's the first miracle that
- 08:25 comes to mind as we're standing here right now.
- 08:28 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: In TV talk, this is what we call "a wide
- 08:30 shot in a tight spot."
- 08:35 The reason why I say that, as I am in a very tight spot,
- 08:39 and you would expect it to be the case.
- 08:41 I'm coming to you from a tomb.
- 08:44 Doesn't need to be very big.
- 08:45 Inhabitants don't live here.
- 08:48 They settle here.
- 08:50 When I tell you where "here" is, then you'll probably recall.
- 08:54 The place is called "Bethany," and Bible readers know that
- 08:59 a great miracle happened here, one that was extremely famous
- 09:04 or infamous, depending on where you stood.
- 09:09 Jesus was known to be a miracle worker.
- 09:12 Early in the gospel of John chapter 3,
- 09:13 Nicodemus comes to him and says, "Rabbi,
- 09:16 we know that you are a teacher come from God,
- 09:19 for no one can do the signs that you do unless God is with him."
- 09:23 So he was known for signs and wonders,
- 09:25 but the world ain't seen nothin' like this.
- 09:28 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: It is a beautiful morning here at
- 09:32 the Mount of Olives, on the Mount of Olives.
- 09:34 I'm adjacent to the Garden of Gethsemane.
- 09:36 Weather is perfect, and like I said,
- 09:40 I am in a very good mood.
- 09:42 Do you know what the number one mood killer is however?
- 09:48 It's a word referred to in Yiddish,
- 09:52 a Jewish dialect, as "guilt."
- 09:55 It is said that it's what married couples fight over
- 10:00 the most, and it is said it is what makes people,
- 10:04 as individuals, anxious the most, "guilt."
- 10:10 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Wedding ceremonies can be
- 10:12 complex events.
- 10:14 This, indeed, was true in John chapter 2.
- 10:17 As you might recall, there was a problem with food and beverage.
- 10:22 Beverage management wasn't doing so good.
- 10:24 I mention that because, as this thing is going on,
- 10:26 someone reports to Yeshua, his own mother,
- 10:29 no less, "Look, the wine has gone out.
- 10:31 We have a problem--big day, a wedding."
- 10:35 Coming to you from Israel, here, a wedding venue no less,
- 10:40 I'm reminded of the fact that, again,
- 10:41 these things can be very complex.
- 10:43 Someone wasn't sufficiently prepared for the moment,
- 10:47 and the net result is there was a need at a critical time.
- 10:55 David: It is December, and we celebrate the birth of Yeshua.
- 10:58 Coming to you in February, we bring you "Sar Shalom,"
- 11:01 which is "Prince of Peace."
- 11:03 It's a great series.
- 11:04 Kirsten: Well, talk about Christmas songs and songs that
- 11:06 we sing in the season, "His name shall be called Wonderful
- 11:09 Counselor, the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting Father--"
- 11:12 David: "Mighty God."
- 11:13 Kirsten: --the Mighty God.
- 11:14 Let's take a look at his peaceful side right now.
- 11:18 ♪♪♪
- 11:28 ♪♪♪
- 11:38 ♪♪♪
- 11:50 ♪♪♪
- 11:56 [thunder booming]
- 11:58 ♪♪♪
- 12:08 ♪♪♪
- 12:18 Jesus: [speaking in Hebrew]
- 12:34 narrator: The Lord had made it quite clear there is a place
- 12:38 for fasting, but it is not in public,
- 12:42 especially at the city gate.
- 12:44 Disfiguring the face with ashes may be rewarded with attention,
- 12:49 but the attention is the extent of the reward.
- 12:57 "When fasting, do so in secret," says the Lord,
- 13:01 "and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."
- 13:10 narrator: She shall be called "woman."
- 13:14 Eve: I came forth from a man.
- 13:17 female: But I found favor with him.
- 13:19 female: And true success is not measured in wealth
- 13:21 and power but in the state of his heart.
- 13:25 female: I've never been happier and more fulfilled.
- 13:28 female: I raised him up strictly in the faith,
- 13:30 the law and the prophets.
- 13:33 female: And now I want to give something back.
- 13:35 female: I believe Elohim meant it to be this way.
- 13:36 female: She's still a cornerstone of wisdom
- 13:37 to the family.
- 13:39 Hannah: But you are always in my heart.
- 13:42 ♪♪♪
- 13:58 Eve: My first memories of life are not like any other.
- 14:03 I remember awakening in the garden.
- 14:10 Everything was new and fresh.
- 14:14 The sweet fragrance of honeysuckle,
- 14:17 the tranquil melody of the lark, the pleasant fruit on the trees.
- 14:27 Elohim led me through this glorious paradise to a peculiar
- 14:32 creature, one just like me.
- 14:41 You see, I was not born from a mother and father.
- 14:45 I came forth from a man.
- 14:48 ♪♪♪
- 14:56 Eve: The moment he looked upon me,
- 14:58 I saw his sorrow and loneliness turn to joy.
- 15:06 His heart was now whole.
- 15:11 My husband, my friend, my love, joined in union for life,
- 15:20 joined together as one.
- 15:24 ♪♪♪
- 15:31 Hannah: My son, I know we were together only for
- 15:36 a short time, but you are always in my heart.
- 15:41 I think of you daily.
- 15:45 And you may not understand now, but I made a vow to Yahweh that,
- 15:52 if he would turn my affliction and give me a son,
- 15:59 I would give the child back all the days of his life.
- 16:06 That is why you'll live in the house of Elohim and
- 16:10 serve the priests.
- 16:13 Listen carefully, and obey them, for it is their charge to teach
- 16:18 you the ways of Yahweh.
- 16:22 Samuel, I will always be your mother,
- 16:25 and you will always be my son.
- 16:28 Wear this to keep you warm, and do remember me
- 16:31 when you are lonely.
- 16:34 ♪♪♪
- 16:39 Kirsten: We just gave you a three-for-one,
- 16:41 three insights into our new series coming up,
- 16:45 and I have to say, we ended with one,
- 16:48 "She Shall Be Called Woman," and you brought that to television
- 16:53 a few years ago, didn't you?
- 16:55 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yeah, that was even my idea, not to brag.
- 16:58 That's paid a lot of dividends for me supporting women.
- 17:01 In fact, my wife Barri was attracted to me,
- 17:04 in part, because I was interested in being
- 17:07 supportive of women.
- 17:08 Kirsten: So is the Savior. He really did.
- 17:10 I mean, some of his "right-hand--" should I say--
- 17:13 "women," were women.
- 17:14 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Well, "some of his right-hand women were
- 17:16 women," that was a very astute observation, Kirsten.
- 17:18 That's why you get paid the big bucks.
- 17:19 No, but to your point, what I wanted to do was look at what
- 17:23 the Bible said to, for, and about women.
- 17:27 People get the impression that Judeo-Christian religion kind of
- 17:31 pushes women to the periphery, and Paul is read in ways,
- 17:35 mistakenly, to my way of thinking,
- 17:38 to represent that perspective, and I wanted to kind of reign it
- 17:42 in a little bit and take a clean look at what the Bible says,
- 17:46 not just in the TV series that I did but a book that accompanied
- 17:50 it by the same name.
- 17:51 Kirsten: I think you all are gonna love that series.
- 17:54 It's a good one, and that's coming up just next year.
- 17:55 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: It's comin' up.
- 17:57 David: Hey, can I share with you somethin' that happened
- 17:58 with me the other day?
- 17:59 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Sure.
- 18:01 David: I took a friend of mine to Denny's Restaurant in
- 18:03 Orlando, Florida area.
- 18:04 His name is Harold.
- 18:06 He's 100 years old.
- 18:08 He's in our church, and he wears a suit every week.
- 18:10 He loved his wife, who is with the Lord now,
- 18:13 and he watches our program, and he felt like God was
- 18:17 telling him to give to our program.
- 18:20 So what he did--here, I brought it with me.
- 18:22 He pulled out his wallet, and he said,
- 18:24 "I have a hundred-dollar bill that's been sitting in my wallet
- 18:27 for years, and I haven't known what to do with it," and he
- 18:30 said, "The Lord, last night, told me to give this to
- 18:34 "Our Jewish Roots" program.
- 18:35 So, this, I believe, is gonna help us continue what we do.
- 18:40 You may have somethin' sittin' around,
- 18:43 some money that you don't know what to do with.
- 18:45 Our prayer is that maybe God would speak to you to help us
- 18:48 continue what we do with our dramatic reenactments,
- 18:51 us going to Israel.

- 22:09 This happens to me all the time.
- 22:10 Caleb: Guys, people like to study "the beast," aka,
- 22:13 "the antichrist."
- 22:14 He's the focus of all, you know, the bad guys in prophecy,
- 22:17 but many people ignore the identity of another sinister
- 22:19 guy: the false prophet, someone who pretends to be something
- 22:22 that he's not, like the leader.
- 22:24 Joshua: Wait, they're different?
- 22:25 Caleb: Yes, they're two different people.
- 22:27 Joshua: False prophet isn't the leader?
- 22:28 Caleb: No, he's not.

- 22:38 Dr. August Rosado: Many world leaders in the past,
- 22:40 back in the day, have attempted--they tried to revive
- 22:43 the Roman Empire: Mussolini, Napoleon,
- 22:48 Charlemagne, and Adolf Hitler, but all failed.
- 22:53 Daniel calls for a final ten nations or what he later calls
- 22:58 "ten horns" in Daniel 7:7-24.
- 23:02 Some 500 years later, John the apostle,
- 23:06 in the book of Revelation, picks up where Daniel left off,
- 23:10 and he describes ten horns in Revelation 12:3,
- 23:13 Revelation 13:1, Revelation 17, verses 3, 7, 12, and 16.
- 23:19 We believe that the European Union or "EU" is the embryo or
- 23:24 the infrastructure for the revival of the Roman Empire.
- 23:29 There are 27 member states in the European Union today.
- 23:33 All member countries must yield their sovereignty to the EU.
- 23:37 The flag of the EU has 12 golden stars with a blue background.

- 24:22 David: So I was on staff at Oral Roberts University,
- 24:24 and Kirsten sang there with me, and you went to school there,
- 24:28 so we love Oklahoma.
- 24:29 Israel: So, Elizabeth is a graduate from--
- 24:31 Elizabeth: That's right, yup, I'm in alumnus club.
- 24:33 David: What year? Elizabeth: '97
- 24:35 Kirsten: Okay.

- 24:41 Dr. Todd Baker: Where did Jesus go between His

- 24:45 Scripture indicates in Luke 16:19-31,
- 24:49 that, after the death of the physical body,
- 24:51 the soul of the person lives on in a conscious state either in
- 24:55 heaven or hell.
- 24:57 There is no "soul sleep" in Scripture.
- 24:59 Evangelist and pastor Greg Laurie is right to point out
- 25:02 the following: "To understand exactly where Jesus went,
- 25:06 look at the story Jesus told of the rich man and Lazarus.
- 25:10 This was not simply a parable, for Jesus used
- 25:14 an actual human name.
- 25:16 Thus, we can conclude that Jesus was giving us an actual glimpse
- 25:20 of life beyond the grave.
- 25:22 The story describes a place called Hades,
- 25:25 where there was both a place of comfort and torment."
- 25:30 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: You just saw a variety of faces in our
- 25:34 social media platform.
- 25:36 When this ministry began forty-four years ago,
- 25:38 there was one face, principally.
- 25:41 His name was Zola Levitt.
- 25:43 He was a pioneer in Christian television and certainly in
- 25:45 bringing the messianic Jewish message to the broader Christian
- 25:48 community through the miracle that is television.
- 25:52 I had the opportunity to work for him for years,
- 25:55 and then, as he was passing, before he left,
- 25:59 he said, "Let's get Jeff in here to carry this on."
- 26:02 Of course, he invited me, but if you didn't invite me into
- 26:05 your hearts, it wouldn't have worked, you know?
- 26:08 It's been many years since 2006, and a lot of time,
- 26:11 when the principal, when the founder,
- 26:13 when the much beloved leader goes,
- 26:14 usually, whoever comes in after that gets run over like
- 26:17 a freight train 'cause people compare the new guy to the
- 26:20 old guy, and the new guy just usually doesn't stand a chance.
- 26:23 You've been gracious to me, and I appreciate that.
- 26:25 I think because you, like me, realize it's less about
- 26:30 the personality than it is about the biblical story itself.
- 26:33 Whether Zola Levitt, Jeffrey Seif,
- 26:36 whether through the social media,
- 26:37 different names, different people are all about telling
- 26:40 the good news through the eyes of the Jews.
- 26:41 Thank you for helping us tell that story,
- 26:44 and please, as '22 rolls away and we look into the New Year,
- 26:49 please pull out a checkbook and help us continue to tell
- 26:52 the story, the greatest story ever told,
- 26:54 the good news through the eyes of the Jews.
