  • 00:37 on "Zola Levitt Presents," I'm David Hart.
  • 00:38 Kirsten Hart: I'm Kirsten Hart. Jeffrey Seif: Jeffrey Seif.
  • 00:40 David: On today's program, we'd like to show you some
  • 00:42 of the things we have planned for 2019.
  • 00:46 I can't believe we're there already.
  • 00:48 Kirsten: Right? Like, where are the flying cars?
  • 00:50 I mean, it's unbelievable we're at this year.
  • 00:52 And you look to-- you're a visionary.
  • 00:55 What does the next year look like to you?
  • 00:57 Jeffrey: Well, speak about flying cars,
  • 00:58 time flies, doesn't it?
  • 01:00 And I'll tell you, relative to the future, I think all
  • 01:03 of us--all of us, that is me, you, we, our audience,
  • 01:07 all of us should be concerned for the future,
  • 01:09 professionally and personally, 'cause we're gonna all spend
  • 01:11 the rest of our lives in the future.
  • 01:14 And that future is predicated upon decisions
  • 01:16 that we make right now, and "Zola Levitt Presents"
  • 01:19 has made an executive decision
  • 01:21 to present onward into the future.
  • 01:23 Really good programming, great interviews too.
  • 01:27 David: That's great.
  • 01:28 One of the things we love to do is go to Israel
  • 01:30 on a Zola Levitt tour.
  • 01:32 We've met some amazing folks who live there
  • 01:35 and we've had them actually on our program.
  • 01:37 One of those people that live in Jerusalem is our son, Ryan Hart.
  • 01:41 Let's take a look at some of those previews right now.

  • 01:50 ♪ O Lord my God, ♪
  • 01:53 ♪ when I in awesome wonder ♪
  • 01:56 ♪ consider all the worlds thy hands have made. ♪
  • 02:02 ♪ I see the stars. ♪
  • 02:05 ♪ I hear the rolling thunder. ♪
  • 02:09 ♪ Thy power throughout the universe displayed. ♪
  • 02:14 David: So, you got a text a while back when you
  • 02:17 were living in the USA, and this text said, "Hey, Ryan,
  • 02:25 how would you like to live in Israel?"
  • 02:28 I don't think that was by chance.
  • 02:30 I think--tell us what your experience was,
  • 02:32 if you felt God calling you here.
  • 02:34 How did that come about?
  • 02:36 Ryan Hart: So, when I got that text asking if I would
  • 02:38 wanna come here, and live here, and work for two years,
  • 02:42 I thought, "Why me?"
  • 02:45 But it really has been God working through everything.
  • 02:49 Like, I see that in just the opportunities
  • 02:52 that I've been given.
  • 02:54 I've gotten to travel all around Israel filming amazing projects
  • 02:58 that ICEJ helps out with.
  • 03:00 ICEJ is the organization that I'm with, the International
  • 03:04 Christian Embassy Jerusalem, and I've just been able to make
  • 03:07 so many connections with people here in the land and even
  • 03:11 outside of it, just people who come here for tours, they're
  • 03:15 here for a day, a week, a month, a year, even more.
  • 03:20 And so that, along with the young adults group that I
  • 03:23 attend, have just been a really solid way for me to connect
  • 03:27 with people here in the land.
  • 03:29 David: Another interesting person we met in Israel
  • 03:31 is Messianic musician and YouTube artist Joshua Aaron.
  • 03:35 Here he is now.
  • 03:38 ♪ You are holy. ♪
  • 03:42 David: You call yourself a YouTube artist.
  • 03:44 [laughing]
  • 03:45 Joshua Aaron: Yeah.
  • 03:46 David: And I think you're more than that, but just tell us
  • 03:48 how you got started, where you think you're going
  • 03:49 with your music, and who you wanna reach.
  • 03:51 Joshua: Well, I really feel like I think we're all called to
  • 03:53 be a bridge in some way, so I feel like I'm called to be
  • 03:56 a bridge between Judaism, Messianic Judaism,
  • 03:59 and the church, bringing everybody together,
  • 04:04 because I believe that's who Messiah's coming back
  • 04:05 for, one bride.
  • 04:07 So, music is the tool and, you know, when I write,
  • 04:10 I kinda write with that in mind, to bring people together.
  • 04:13 "How Great Is Our God" for instance.
  • 04:15 I didn't write that song, a friend of mine, Ed Cash,
  • 04:17 and Chris Tomlin wrote that song,
  • 04:19 and I think another guy with them.
  • 04:21 I heard the world version came out and they sang it
  • 04:23 in several languages.
  • 04:24 David: Loved it.
  • 04:26 Joshua: And I loved it too, but when they finished, they got
  • 04:28 to the last language, I'm like, "Uh!"
  • 04:30 I'm waiting for Hebrew.
  • 04:31 Because I mean, they didn't have to sing it in Hebrew,
  • 04:33 but in my mind, we're in a prophetic day and age
  • 04:36 where Israel shouldn't exist.
  • 04:38 I mean, it's miraculous.
  • 04:40 My great-grandparents were killed in the Holocaust.
  • 04:41 My grandmother came here. My mom was born here.
  • 04:45 And this never happened in the history of the world where
  • 04:48 a nation would come back to life just like as the prophets would
  • 04:52 say, especially after 2,000 years, and a language.
  • 04:56 Kirsten: I have some insider scoop for you on Joshua Aaron.
  • 05:00 Our son, Ryan Hart, who you just saw, was doing a filming with
  • 05:04 Joshua Aaron up in the Galilee for one of Joshua's new videos

  • 05:28 David: Another thing, we love the testimonies that we view

  • 05:36 The past 70 years, it's a lot stronger now.
  • 05:39 Kirsten: It is, it's getting-- I like the strength.
  • 05:41 I like that word.
  • 05:42 David: We love the testimonies and the stories
  • 05:44 of things going on in Israel.
  • 05:45 Kirsten: Right, it's getting strong.
  • 05:46 And speaking of strong, King David, one of
  • 05:48 the most famous kings of Israel, was very strong.
  • 05:50 He fought Goliath.
  • 05:52 Jeffrey: Yes, he did.
  • 05:54 Here's a new Hebrew word for you, "chazak."
  • 05:57 Kirsten: Chazak, chazak.
  • 05:58 Jeffrey: It means "be strong."
  • 06:00 Let's now look at some excerpts from "The Warrior King."
  • 06:05 ♪♪♪
  • 06:15 ♪♪♪
  • 06:25 ♪♪♪
  • 06:35 ♪♪♪
  • 06:45 ♪♪♪
  • 06:55 ♪♪♪
  • 06:58 narrator: The city of David was a fitting place for a king,
  • 07:01 but the crown jewel was missing.
  • 07:04 David's desire was that the very presence be brought to his city,
  • 07:08 and so it was that we were among those appointed to escort the
  • 07:12 golden ark of the covenant to Jerusalem.
  • 07:19 Our delight that day was in the Lord.
  • 07:22 As David danced in the streets of Jerusalem,
  • 07:24 our hearts leaped for joy.
  • 07:27 Jerusalem had become a city of the Living God.
  • 07:32 ♪♪♪
  • 07:42 ♪♪♪
  • 07:49 ♪♪♪
  • 07:54 Jeffrey: He didn't do a very good job of containing himself,
  • 07:57 now did he?
  • 07:58 He invoked the ire of his wife, who thought he was playing
  • 08:01 the fool in front of the masses.
  • 08:03 And why is that is because David was so very ecstatic
  • 08:08 when the ark was brought into the city.
  • 08:11 He was beside himself.
  • 08:14 And the reason is is because he knew that it was the Lord
  • 08:17 who placed him where he was.
  • 08:19 He credited the Lord with his success.
  • 08:25 narrator: Thus sayeth the Lord God unto them,
  • 08:28 "Therefore when I save my flock,
  • 08:31 then they shall no more be prey.
  • 08:34 I will set up one Shepherd over them and he shall feed them,
  • 08:38 even my servant David.
  • 08:41 He shall feed them and he shall be their Shepherd,
  • 08:45 and I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David
  • 08:50 a prince among men.
  • 08:52 I the Lord have spoken it."
  • 08:58 Jeffrey: I'm coming to you from the Kidron Valley.
  • 09:03 To my left, you can't see it, the ancient temple once stood,
  • 09:08 and now there's Turkish walls round about it.
  • 09:10 To my right, the Mount of Olives.
  • 09:13 And here in a valley where shepherds used to frequent,
  • 09:17 verdant lands, but that was yesteryear.
  • 09:21 Behind me is a monument to a name that's not often
  • 09:26 repeated here in Israel.
  • 09:29 It's a monument to Absalom, and why he would be remembered
  • 09:34 in a place like this is anybody's guess because,
  • 09:37 truth be known, he himself is persona non grata.
  • 09:42 And why is that?
  • 09:44 Because Absalom was David's son who sought to kill him.
  • 09:48 He drove David out of his own palace, made the king run
  • 09:52 for his life in the later years of his life.
  • 09:56 As Absalom, the name "Avi" means "my father,"
  • 10:00 and "shalom" is "peace."
  • 10:02 He has a name connected to peace, "My father is peace,"
  • 10:06 but he gave his father tsuris, truth be known.
  • 10:11 Kirsten: As we journey into 2019, I think it's appropriate
  • 10:14 to bring you a series on strength
  • 10:17 and the strength of King David.
  • 10:20 You're bringing it to us.
  • 10:21 Jeffrey: Yes, a warrior king. Fascinating, isn't it?
  • 10:24 If you look at the Bible, a lot of those guys were warriors.
  • 10:27 In fact, even Paul, when he wants to talk about
  • 10:29 the Christian life, it's the helmet of salvation,
  • 10:33 it's the breast plate, it's the shield of faith,
  • 10:36 the sword of the spirit.
  • 10:37 Warrior motifs, yes?
  • 10:39 Kirsten: Why do we have to be so strong?
  • 10:41 Isn't God fighting for us? Do we have to be strong?
  • 10:43 Jeffrey: Well, yes, but he's fighting through us,
  • 10:45 not just for us.
  • 10:46 Now, listen, it's called "The Warrior King," but it's
  • 10:49 subtitled, and hear me on this, "The Warrior King:
  • 10:53 David-like Leadership for Goliath-like Times."
  • 10:59 It's timeless, isn't it?
  • 11:01 At the end of the day, there's a struggle.
  • 11:02 The Bible talks about fighting the good fight of the faith.
  • 11:06 We contend individually, collectively as a body
  • 11:09 of believers and as a nation.
  • 11:12 David-like leadership.
  • 11:15 We need to be strong, chazak, and we're tapping into that
  • 11:20 when we look at what the Bible says about leadership.
  • 11:23 It's principles of leadership, success, growth, development,
  • 11:28 forward momentum.
  • 11:30 Stuff that we need as a culture, as a body of believers,
  • 11:33 stuff that we need as individuals.
  • 11:36 Now, I did this series a few years back
  • 11:38 and we're bringing it to you afresh,
  • 11:40 because the Bible's fresh in Hebrew.
  • 11:43 "L'dor va'dor," there's another one,
  • 11:46 from generation to generation.
  • 11:50 It doesn't go old.
  • 11:52 And the need--doesn't grow old, rather.
  • 11:54 The need for David-like leadership is as true now
  • 12:00 as it ever was.
  • 12:02 Stay tuned, you're gonna love it.
  • 12:04 David: And you're teaching on location
  • 12:07 right where that happened.
  • 12:09 There's gotta be something to that also.
  • 12:10 Jeffrey: Yes, and Levitt Ministry partners not only paid

  • 12:56 at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
  • 13:37 Jeffrey: There's a certain experience that the movie
  • 13:41 captures, that gentle moment, that mother with child.
  • 13:47 I think it's hard for a male to understand that, and it's easy
  • 13:50 for a theologian just to dive into the text, and the contents,
  • 13:53 and context, and word studies, and just miss the tenderness
  • 13:57 of the moment entirely.
  • 14:01 I don't want to apologize for who I am, I've gotta run with
  • 14:04 it, but there's something about seeing it.
  • 14:07 There's a kind of soulish beauty there.
  • 14:11 ♪♪♪
  • 14:16 [crying]
  • 15:19 Jeffrey: When I look at the clip you just saw, I cry,
  • 15:23 and I'm not a real crying kind of guy.
  • 15:26 My wife wishes I would be more in touch with my feelings,
  • 15:29 and I really am working at it, but I'm more of a type A.
  • 15:33 I don't just emote all that often.
  • 15:36 But not only do I honestly shed a tear when I see it,
  • 15:39 whenever I read the story I get emotional.

  • 21:08 A friend of our ministry, Tommy Waller, is in Israel,
  • 21:12 and he does something very special and unique.
  • 21:15 He has thousands of Christian volunteers go to Israel
  • 21:19 to help Israeli farmers.
  • 21:21 It's something unique and it's making a difference in Israel.
  • 21:25 Let's hear a little bit from Tommy now.
  • 21:30 Tommy Waller: Christianity has developed
  • 21:35 an understanding of the Bible with Israel extracted from it.
  • 21:41 And then all of the sudden, we shockingly--we were awakened
  • 21:48 in 1948 to a new reality, that the Bible's actually true.
  • 21:56 We can actually touch it.
  • 21:58 In Jewish thought, and I've heard this several times, that,
  • 22:02 you know, the objective of the redemption is to return to Eden.
  • 22:08 It's to--we started in this holy place where we're communing
  • 22:13 with God freely, without a temple,
  • 22:16 but communing with God freely.
  • 22:18 And so, the process then after the fall is to get back.
  • 22:23 We gotta get back there.
  • 22:26 Jeffrey: Tommy Waller, great guy, and we have great guys
  • 22:29 and gals coming your way.
  • 22:31 In fact, one of which is a series that I did
  • 22:33 some years ago on Esther.
  • 22:36 That's not a guy, that's a gal.
  • 22:38 And the reason why I did it is because I wanted
  • 22:40 to celebrate women.
  • 22:41 The reason why I wanted to do that is
  • 22:43 because God celebrates women.
  • 22:45 In fact, Esther was a game-changer.
  • 22:47 There are women that help us behind the scenes
  • 22:49 and it's a game-changer for "Zola Levitt Presents."
  • 22:52 And there are women in biblical history that are game-changers
  • 22:55 behind the scenes as well.
  • 22:57 We'll look at some scenes from that, some more from the Psalms
  • 23:00 that I did some years ago on the Psalms of Ascent,
  • 23:03 always timeless, always good.
  • 23:06 And then we'll hear from our good friend Dov Schwarz as well.
  • 23:09 Lots of scenes, lots happening at "Zola Levitt Presents,"
  • 23:12 lots that we wanna bring to you.
  • 23:16 ♪♪♪
  • 23:23 Jeffrey: Our story today is played out against the backdrop
  • 23:27 of someone that has trouble sleeping.
  • 23:29 You might recall the story in the 6th chapter
  • 23:32 of the book of Esther.
  • 23:34 Interestingly, providentially, Xerxes just couldn't get to bed.
  • 23:39 And what he did is he called for someone to come and read
  • 23:44 and help him to explore if there's any unfinished business.
  • 23:47 And he was reminded of the fact that some time prior,
  • 23:50 there was a plot against his life, and there was
  • 23:53 a Jew named Mordecai who was given to helping him.
  • 24:10 Jeffrey: She wanted to be a help.
  • 24:13 She wanted to save her people.
  • 24:15 And so, she arranges to visit her husband again and petition
  • 24:19 on their behalf that Jews be allowed to make a spirited
  • 24:22 defense, given the fact that a decree was enacted
  • 24:26 for their destruction.
  • 24:28 ♪♪♪
  • 24:37 narrator: In Bible times, olive oil was used for cooking,
  • 24:40 for light, for ointment, and perhaps most importantly,
  • 24:44 for anointing.
  • 24:47 "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren
  • 24:50 to dwell together in unity.
  • 24:53 It's like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon
  • 24:57 the beard, even Aaron's beard that went down to the skirts
  • 25:01 of his garment, like the dew that descended
  • 25:05 upon the mountains of Zion."
  • 25:08 ♪♪♪
  • 25:15 Jeffrey: Psalm 133 is one of the better-known psalms,
  • 25:18 in the Christian world and in the Jewish world.
  • 25:21 Oh, in the Jewish world in America anyway, Jews grow up
  • 25:24 singing, "Hineh ma tov uma na'im shevet achim gam yachad,"
  • 25:28 from the first verse, "How good and pleasant it is
  • 25:31 when brethren dwell together in unity."
  • 25:35 ♪♪♪
  • 25:44 Dov Schwarz: The next covenant I wanna share with you,
  • 25:48 we get some hints about it in the gospels as Messiah Yeshua,
  • 25:54 our Lord Jesus, is walking through the streets in Jerusalem
  • 25:59 and a man cries out to him who was blind, Blind Bartimaeus.
  • 26:04 And what does he cry out?
  • 26:06 "O Son of David, have mercy on me."
  • 26:11 ♪♪♪
  • 26:16 Chaim Malespin: Here we are in one of my favorite spots
  • 26:18 in the land of Israel, Shiloh, ancient Shiloh,
  • 26:21 as we say in Hebrew.
  • 26:23 Yeah, we are in the heartland of Israel.
  • 26:24 Some would call it the West Bank.
  • 26:26 The Bible calls it Judea and Samaria.
  • 26:31 Sarah Liberman: Shalom Haverim.
  • 26:33 One of the more common words you're gonna hear in Israel and
  • 26:36 use in Hebrew is the word "beseder," which means "okay."
  • 26:42 David: There is so much more we'd like to show you,
  • 26:44 but we are almost out of time.
  • 26:46 Kirsten: 2019 is coming up. We're in it right now.

  • 27:08 You know, Scripture says that without faith it is impossible
  • 27:11 to please God, for whoever would draw near to God must first
  • 27:16 believe that he exists and that he is a rewarder
  • 27:21 of those who seek him.
