Life on the ground in Israel

I keep hearing that this heat is unusual for Jerusalem

Numbers 22:2-25:9, Micah 5:6-6:8

Let it be a word of comfort to us: God can change any ordered and planned curse into a blessing.

I think Israel is setting some kind of heat temperature record. I keep hearing that this heat is unusual for Jerusalem.

I did a couple of Shabbat errands. So, the chicken is in the crock pot and the pecan pie is made.

I met some friends at the Hillel Cafe on Jaffa street for a late lunch. That talk was about the weather and the new ice cream at the cafe: A vanilla/coffee ice cream mix with a chocolate sauce with nuts poured on top of the ice cream. I may not eat for a week. As we are leaving the cafe, the street is almost empty and it is only 4pm. Just about all the stores are closed with few exceptions. A few produce and flower stalls are still open, hoping to make that last-minute sale.

Will and I will have a quiet Shabbat. Tomorrow, we may go to a couple of museums that are open.

News from the Jerusalem Post Christian Edition:

From our Muslim friends… Let me preface this by saying that at the forum I went to with the “new” Palestinian thinkers, the question was asked if Muslims and Christians could live together. Their answer was “of course Muslims and Christians can live together; the Koran says so.” So, here is news from Iraq:

Iraqi Christians told to convert or die.
Dozens of Iraqi Christian families have been forced to seek refuge in churches in the Baghdad area rather than convert to Islam. Reports from the Assyrian International News Agency indicate that Islamists are targeting members of the ancient Assyrian (Chaldean) churches, forcing them to either convert or pay the jizya—a protective head tax demanded by the Koran. Those who refuse either option are threatened with death. Christians fleeing into churches are not being allowed to take any belongings with them.

From the Jerusalem Post:

CNN puts Israel back on the map.
Following an inquiry from the Jerusalem Post, CNN has corrected a feature on its web site that failed to identify Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and which had instead listed it as “Jerusalem, null.”

’07 Alyia from North America to be largest in 25 years.
Immigration from North America is expected to increase five to ten percent over last hear, marking the largest level of aliya from that region in a quarter century, the Jewish Agency reported, Thursday. In 2006, 3,200 Americans and Canadians moved to Israel and adopted Israeli citizenship, the highest figure since 1983.

    Sandra,
My heart really goes out to the Christians in Iraq, what a horrible time for them right now….This old world is in such a turmoil, there is much for us to bring to our Lord in prayer, asking His Will be done.

This old world is really getting ready for the anti-christ because he is suppose to really be the man of the hour and bring harmony to all their problems…..I am so happy that the Bridegroom will call for the Bride, (the church age will be over) and we won’t have to worry about who the anti-christ is….Praise the Lord!

    Keep cool.

Looking forward as a Bride of Christ for Jesus to return! Had a dream I was flying high through the air. From above I could see two mountains with a river between. Interesting my arms were crossed in front of me holding a book? I was headed toward the water between the two mountains. I must have been waking up because I felt like I was about to fall and looked behind me to see a person with small wings behind me who flew underneath me where I was now sitting on his sholders and my flight was maintained??? Where did I go and what was I holding? I love the Lord with everything about me. I relate to the Lord God daily through God’s Holy Word. I note that God’s Word is the “living Word of God!” I am routinely fed righteousness from God’s Word. I love the Lord and hope to visit Israel some time soon if it be God’s Will. My prayer life directs my path to tell others about Jesus Christ and how He forgives our sin. The power of His pure blood is what everyone in the world needs to give hope for eternal life.

God is GREAT and His Love is the BEST!
His only son was life was given to SAVE us!
Accepting the TRUTH will bring a PEACE that
passes ALL understanding! In HIM there is
NO darkness! Take the first step and accept
the INVITATION that GOD offers NOW! God’s Will
be done! Open your hearts doors and let HIS
HOLY LIGHT come into and wash you clean from
your sin! Let God’s Holy Spirit become your
    guide!

    Debra,

My peak dream time is for now until December roughly. I don’t get them all the time. Whenever you have a dream, get up immediately and wrap up in a warm blanket if the house is cold like it is here in Idaho, and then pray and ask G-d to interpret the dream.

Keep in prayer until it comes, it will not take long (15 minutes) and then one section of the dream will be shown and then the others will fall into place and the whole picture and meaning will be complete. The scarier they are, the more beautiful/dramatic the answer.

Tell others about your dream, if something urges you too. I have had two close friends then open up and say that they or someone they love has had a dream and they can’t figure it out, or is very scared by it. I have then been told the dream and interpreted it for them and they have been blessed. One daughter dreamed that a man in black kept sending her into different apartments in an apartment house. She had just come to Christ and gotten off drugs. In each apartment there was something out of her past that was terrible. I told her the devil was trying to tell her she was worthless and Jesus Christ certainly was not going to save a nothing like her. He was rubbing her nose into her past as a reminder of how hopeless she was. The apartment house was her memories of her past. I told her Jesus loved her, everything was forgiven and her past was just that – past. In her dream the man in black was underneath a car and all she could see was his boots. I told her that the devil couldn’t even stand in her presence. He had to hide from her. She was overjoyed.
