- 08:14 Caleb: Galatians 2:16: "Yet we know that a person is set right
- 08:18 not by deeds based on Torah, but rather through putting trust in
- 08:21 Messiah Yeshua."
- 08:23 So even we have put our trust in Messiah Yeshua in order that we
- 08:27 might be set right based on trust in Messiah and not by
- 08:30 deeds based on Torah because no human will be justified by deeds
- 08:33 based on Torah.
- 08:35 Caleb: I mean, what was the law back then of the sacrificial
- 08:38 system, Shaul, it was temporary, wasn't it?
- 08:41 I mean, if it--Yeshua wouldn't have had to come if it was a
- 08:44 permanent, you know, forgiveness factor.
- 08:46 Why was it necessary that they had to do it in the
- 08:49 first place?
- 08:51 Shaul: Because this is what they knew.
- 08:53 This is what they were given to do, but you know, looking from
- 08:58 our perspective, we realize that the Scriptures tell us that the
- 09:04 Torah is not perfect.
- 09:05 You cannot be perfect while you're doing--you're working
- 09:10 and you're doing works.
- 09:11 Only with the Torah.
- 09:12 And the Torah even says that Abraham become considered as
- 09:19 righteous when he believed.
- 09:23 Caleb: When he had faith.
- 09:25 Shaul: [speaking in Hebrew]
- 09:29 become righteous just by that and when you think about
- 09:31 it, he was on--he was not circumcised back then.
- 09:36 Caleb: You're right.
- 09:38 When God first spoke to him, and I have a Scripture in Romans 4.
- 09:41 Romans 4:9 through 11 says: "Does this blessedness then come
- 09:45 upon the circumcised only [Jews], or upon the
- 09:49 uncircumcised also [Gentiles]?
- 09:51 For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham
- 09:54 for righteousness.
- 09:55 How then was it accounted?
- 09:56 While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised?
- 09:59 Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised."
- 10:02 So I mean, that means that, you know, although we're commanded
- 10:06 to do good works, you know, and to love people and to feed the
- 10:09 widows and the orphans, that wasn't what made him holy.
- 10:11 It was just believing what God said and taking him at his word.
- 10:15 Shaul: Of course, you cannot please God--
- 10:18 when I ask somebody--and it's so funny as when I came as a Jewish
- 10:23 person to know the Lord, I realized that I came from that
- 10:26 place of trying to do works.
- 10:29 I try to be kind of practice orthodox Judaism.
- 10:33 I realized I can't do all those things and for me when I
- 10:38 realized that Yeshua, the one that I rejected that I didn't
- 10:41 want talk about, then I realized what he has done for me on the
- 10:45 tree and I realized that, wow, I could please God through faith
- 10:50 in him.
- 10:52 It was--it was like a nuclear bomb fell in my heart and I was
- 10:57 like, okay, I was a happy--I'm was a happy person.
- 11:02 I was happy to keep the traditions, to keep the Shabbat,
- 11:07 but I didn't put more burden on it because I realized that I
- 11:12 cannot please God with that.
- 11:14 It's funny to see that there's a lot of people that are coming
- 11:18 from Gentile background and when they are coming to Messianic
- 11:21 Judaism and unfortunately they hear wrong teaching, now they
- 11:25 become extremely legalists.
- 11:28 It's mind boggling to me and--
- 11:31 Caleb: They look down upon the Jewish believers.
- 11:33 Oh, you're not keeping all your commandments.
- 11:34 Shaul: Yeah, they look at me and, you know, usually I walk
- 11:37 to, and I'm sure I'm driving some people crazy, especially
- 11:41 from the Gentiles.
- 11:43 Usually I walk to the--my congregation without a kippah,
- 11:46 and you know I'm a bald man and without a kippah, without
- 11:49 tallit, and I worship God and they're like, "Wow, what is
- 11:53 wrong with this guy?"
- 11:55 Joshua: It's--you bring that up.
- 11:56 I wore my kippah today so that you would feel more, more safe
- 11:59 and more at home.
- 12:01 Shaul: Thank you, I feel more at home.
- 12:02 Joshua: And you couldn't see it, obviously, because it's
- 12:03 camo, but what I always find interesting about the law is two
- 12:05 different things.
- 12:07 Number one, throughout history, any time and even today there
- 12:09 has been a law, man has found a way to corrupt it and get around
- 12:12 it, to still live by the law but, through back channels, find
- 12:17 nuances around it and still get nefarious things done.
- 12:20 And number two, everybody who gets into that legalistic spirit
- 12:24 who says, "Look at me and what I've done through the law," is
- 12:28 forgetting that God gave us the law to show us that we could not
- 12:32 be perfect.
- 12:33 Its entire existence, ironically, was to show you
- 12:35 you could not be good enough because you are incapable of
- 12:38 fulfilling the law, which is why Yeshua was so incredible
- 12:41 for doing it, only one to do it.
- 12:43 Shaul: And it is in our heart, it is in our heart to try to--
- 12:50 when we get to this, we get over trying to please God to get into
- 12:55 this doctrine of habits that we have and we're thinking that in
- 13:00 that way we can put God in the box.
- 13:04 Never.
- 13:06 We should believe and we should know that he cannot be contained
- 13:08 in a box.
- 13:10 He cannot be put in any temple, that we can do our own
- 13:13 regulations and our own corruptions around that.
- 13:16 And I think that the main people that learned that lesson, and
- 13:21 hope that they learned it are my people, the people of Israel, to
- 13:25 stay away from that legalism that eventually leads to wrong
- 13:29 places that are--because of heart is so deceitful it lead us
- 13:35 eventually to the corruption of the heart and to the
- 13:38 wrong results.
- 13:40 Caleb: But thankfully, Yeshua has unlimited grace for all of
- 13:43 us, even when we make mistakes, even when we're puffed up with
- 13:46 pride, and "it's by grace that we are saved through faith, that
- 13:50 not of ourselves is the gift of God, not of works lest any man
- 13:53 should boast."
- 13:54 Shaul: Thank the Lord, hallelujah.
- 13:56 Caleb: And we still haven't found the hog, so.
- 13:59 Shaul: We'll see what happens.
- 14:01 We still have more time.
- 14:02 Joshua: Don't be so legalistic.
- 14:03 By faith I can go to Walmart and get a ham right now that's
- 14:05 delicious, I mean.
- 14:07 Shaul: All right.
- 14:09 Caleb: Wouldn't you like to stop blowing monthly fees on
- 14:11 pagan entertainment?
- 14:12 Joshua: Yeah.
- 14:14 Caleb: Well, how about spreading the gospel of Yeshua while
- 14:16 getting a bunch of cool stuff?
- 14:17 Joshua: Yeah.
- 14:19 Caleb: Then join the Bearded Bible Bonanza on Patreon, where
- 14:21 you'll see the brothers continue their teachings with never
- 14:24 before aired content that pagans don't want you to see.
- 14:27 God bless their souls.
- 14:34 Joshua: They look poisonous.
- 14:36 It's crazy if you eat them.
- 14:44 Caleb: Do we have any phone reception out here?
- 14:47 What if I have to call 911?
- 14:49 Joshua: Really, eat those berries.
- 14:52 Caleb: Not gonna lie, I am the younger brother.
- 14:54 Josh is the elder.
- 14:56 And you would think that comes with certain responsibilities,
- 14:58 but what one doesn't know is being the younger brother means
- 15:01 that you have to save the older brother from doing things that
- 15:03 would be an endangerment to himself and the rest of
- 15:06 the crew.
- 15:08 You know, Josh walking around, 6 foot 8, giant firearm, tripping
- 15:12 on things, safety off.
- 15:15 He's a danger to everyone.
- 15:17 It's a good thing I was there to protect them all.
- 15:20 Shaul: "Pig" in Hebrew is called chazir.
- 15:25 Chazir, and actually it's rooted from the meaning of the word of
- 15:32 chazar, which means in Hebrew "to return."
- 15:36 So, obviously, that picked the name for it's returning all the
- 15:41 time to the same field or area where they eat or whatever they
- 15:47 do, so they always return to that place, probably this is why
- 15:52 their name is chazir.
- 15:57 And by the way, they are the most detestable animals for
- 16:01 Judaism because of their split hoof.
- 16:04 They said that they are marveling their split hoof and
- 16:07 they say, "Oh, you can eat me here because I have a split
- 16:09 hoof," but there's another condition: they don't chew
- 16:13 cud, so.
- 16:15 Because they don't chew cud, they're unclean for us, the
- 16:19 Jewish people.
- 16:20 It is a trap.
- 16:22 This is why they're so, yeah, they're like, oh, they show
- 16:25 their hoof.
- 16:26 "Oh, you can eat me, oh yeah."
- 16:27 Joshua: Isn't that like the enemy to try to seduce you in
- 16:29 with a false sense of security even though it's not real?
- 16:32 Well, the funny thing about pigs, people get so bent out of
- 16:34 shape when you start talking about kosher and "my right to
- 16:37 eat bacon" and this and that.
- 16:39 But people don't often talk about how unhealthy pigs are as
- 16:42 an animal, even today, but you start talking about
- 16:45 biblical times.
- 16:47 First of all, a pig doesn't have sweat glands.
- 16:49 It's the only mammal that doesn't have sweat glands.
- 16:51 So as we secrete toxins out of our skin on a daily basis, they
- 16:55 have these holes in the back of their hoofs like this, and if
- 16:57 you were to plug those holes up, they would die of toxicity in
- 17:01 hours because they're so toxic in their bloodstream.
- 17:04 But they had so many different bacterias, so many different
- 17:07 creatures living inside of them, that one of the biggest problems
- 17:10 was they could not properly cook the meat to get all of those
- 17:14 things out.
- 17:15 We're talking about, like, brain-eating amoebas and stuff
- 17:18 that are going through the flesh of the swine at that time, so I
- 17:22 always find it so beautiful that when God asked somebody to do
- 17:26 something, it was never just a singular purpose although it
- 17:28 might have looked that way.
- 17:29 We get offended at God, initially.
- 17:31 We say, "Why would you want to do this?"
- 17:32 Our first question is why, like a petulant child.
- 17:35 He couldn't answer.
- 17:36 There's not enough time to tell you how many whys and they're
- 17:38 all in your benefit.
- 17:40 And that's what was so incredible.
- 17:41 It was to keep them healthy from an animal they couldn't
- 17:44 make healthy.
- 17:45 It was to have them be set apart and set aside.
- 17:48 It was for so many different reasons that even today it's
- 17:51 healthier if you don't eat pig.
- 17:53 Caleb: Yeah, I remember a Scripture, when God first
- 17:56 brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, he told them in
- 17:59 Deuteronomy 7:12 and 15: "Then it shall come to pass, because
- 18:02 you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them, that the
- 18:05 Lord your God will keep with you the covenant and the mercy which
- 18:08 He swore to your fathers.
- 18:10 And the Lord will take away from you all the sicknesses, and will
- 18:14 afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which
- 18:17 you have known, but will lay them on all of those who
- 18:20 hate you."
- 18:22 See, God knew in advance when he said, "Wash your hands before
- 18:24 you eat," you know, to do all these things, they didn't know
- 18:27 about invisible bacteria and viruses and sicknesses and
- 18:30 stuff, but he was trying to keep them set apart so it was
- 18:33 a benefit.
- 18:34 In the natural he said you're not gonna get the diseases of
- 18:36 all those Egyptians that eat swine, but it was a spiritual
- 18:39 thing as well, wasn't it?
- 18:40 It was about a thing of the heart to be set apart, Shaul.
- 18:44 All of this is--it's about--I think it links back to the one
- 18:47 new man.
- 18:49 It's not about, really, you know, the acts, the works of
- 18:51 all that.
- 18:53 We are now made new in Yeshua.
- 18:54 We are a part of that new covenant, so Jew and Gentiles
- 18:57 can come together, Shaul.
- 18:59 God removed that line of demarcation of purity and of
- 19:04 holiness so that the Gentiles can partake in the blessing that
- 19:08 was given to the Jewish people.
- 19:09 Shaul: True, true, and, you know, there's restrictions and
- 19:13 the tendencies of our heart is to say, "Oh, well, I'm free to
- 19:17 do what I want.
- 19:18 And do as I wish."
- 19:21 But imagine to yourself someone that is going to buy goldfish or
- 19:26 golden fish, and he releases them either in the Mediterranean
- 19:32 or a pool, a swimming pool, and you will look at him and say,
- 19:38 "What are you doing?"
- 19:39 He said, "Well, I want to set those golden fish free," but we
- 19:42 all know that golden fish, that environment of swimming pool or
- 19:49 the Mediterranean or salty water, saltwater environment, it
- 19:54 will be toxic to that fish, and it will kill him.
- 19:58 So therefore the Lord--the Lord put us in structure, okay, in
- 20:04 order that we are not gonna be going to do what I want, what we
- 20:08 want, because it's gonna be toxic to us.
- 20:11 Joshua: Well, I talk about this a lot because I love health and
- 20:14 fitness even though you can't tell at the moment, that there's
- 20:16 never a point in your life where you have disciplined yourself
- 20:20 enough that you can stop having discipline.
- 20:23 The human body in itself if you were to diet and eat healthy and
- 20:26 get lean and your body's in shape, the second you stop, your
- 20:30 body begins going back out of shape.
- 20:32 It begins going back to a state of unhealthy.
- 20:35 God designed us to live in a state of discipline because it
- 20:38 is good for us to constantly be working at improving ourself,
- 20:42 not for the sake of earning salvation, not for the sake of
- 20:45 earning anything that's given by grace, but as much as, like you
- 20:48 said, we have the freedom to do anything.
- 20:49 What did Paul say?
- 20:51 It doesn't mean it all benefits me, right?
- 20:52 I can do anything I want.
- 20:54 I can go eat cheesecake every meal, but it's not gonna benefit
- 20:56 me if I get diabetes and I have to go to Walmart in one of their
- 20:59 little wheelchairs and stuff like that.
- 21:01 We have a temple that we have to take care of physically as well
- 21:04 as spiritually.
- 21:05 And when you combine the two with the single focus being I
- 21:08 want my heart to be in line with God's heart, I want communion
- 21:12 and intimacy with God where there's nothing separating me,
- 21:15 then the details of what you eat, what you watch, what you
- 21:19 put into your physical man, your spiritual man, they'll fall into
- 21:22 line because you're in unity with him.
- 21:24 And that's why he can have verses like: "If you're in my
- 21:26 will, ask anything in my name and you're gonna get it."
- 21:30 Well, why?
- 21:31 Because if you're in his will, you're only gonna ask for things
- 21:33 that are in his will, and that's what he's asked us to do.
- 21:35 But today he's asked us to rid the world of a dirty swine.
- 21:39 I think we should still go find him because--
- 21:41 Shaul: We're gonna go and find him.
- 21:43 Joshua: Look at him.

- 21:45 Joshua: --under the cover of darkness.
- 21:47 Shaul: Well, you need to get him back.
- 21:50 Joshua: But my brother has one slight problem in his life.
- 21:52 It's just the smallest little thing.
- 21:53 While he was committing his entire adult life to being the
- 21:57 man that goes to work, comes home, feeds his children, takes
- 21:59 care of them, takes them to plays and recitals and this, he
- 22:02 didn't get to do any of the other stuff that men get to
- 22:05 do, right?
- 22:06 So now in his life he's finally getting this opportunity.
- 22:10 What does he do?
- 22:11 He pulls out his gun and shoots everything that makes a noise.
- 22:14 Literally. I can't trust him.
- 22:16 He tries to shoot a skunk at first.
- 22:18 Dmitri and I were walking around like, "Hey, what's going on?
- 22:20 Hey, we almost got shot by rednecks," like, pow!
- 22:23 Joshua: Shoot it!
- 22:24 [gun shot]
- 22:26 You didn't hit it. Wait, ah, you figured it out.
- 22:31 Joshua: Like a cannon going off, I'm in one of those
- 22:33 movies, like...
- 22:36 You know, can't see and, like, drool's coming out of my eyes.
- 22:38 It doesn't even make sense how that's possible.
- 22:40 What happened?
- 22:42 Caleb saw an armadillo 3 feet from his foot.
- 22:44 He thought, "I'm gonna shoot a 50 cal at it."
- 22:46 That makes sense.
- 22:48 Did he hit the armadillo? No.
- 22:49 Did he hit his foot? I hope not.
- 22:51 [gun shot]
- 22:54 Caleb: I did not mean to do that, but I was pointing at the
- 22:56 ground just in case.
- 22:58 Joshua: Is anything in this forest anywhere near us at
- 23:00 this point?
- 23:01 No, no, they're not, not even those dumb rednecks.
- 23:04 Shaul: Well, you made it really white, but you didn't hit it.
- 23:08 Caleb: I shot it. I was pointed right at it.
- 23:10 Did you see it?
- 23:11 It like, emerged like a ghost out of a shadow.
- 23:14 A freaking armadillo, like, it was right at it and it didn't

- 23:21 I was so excited. I thought I was gonna kill it.
- 23:22 I mean it, literally, did you see it?
- 23:23 It was like--
- 23:25 Joshua: Caleb has such a hankering to kill something.
- 23:27 He's got 22 years of estrogen build-up in his house, he wants
- 23:30 to murder something bad.

- 24:08 Caleb: Well, that was quite an adventure, that close to
- 24:11 the armadillo.
- 24:12 Shaul: Absolutely that close.
- 24:14 Joshua: We got way more close to killing that hunting dog.
- 24:16 That would have been the true prize due to his worth.
- 24:19 Caleb: Well, we didn't get to bring home the bacon, but I
- 24:21 think we learned a valuable lesson today.
- 24:23 Joshua: The bacon's already in the fridge, so we don't have to
- 24:25 kill it?
- 24:26 Caleb: Yeah, yeah, that true, but it's all about works
- 24:29 versus love.
- 24:30 The love of Yeshua just canceled out everything else.
- 24:33 It was always more powerful, that justification by faith that
- 24:37 brings people into the kingdom.
- 24:39 Shaul: Amen, amen.
- 24:40 Joshua: Circumcision of the heart and not of the hog.
- 24:43 Shaul: Exactly.
- 24:45 We're not judging each other by what we eat, but the fruit of

- 24:51 Caleb: Amen, man looks on the outward appearance, but God

- 24:56 Joshua: It's not a free rein to do whatever you want, but we

- 25:02 and making theology out of people's actions, right?
