- 07:11 Before unpacking some of the particulars of the pictures that

- 07:19 alluded to earlier, this one written in stone, a little
- 07:24 sidebar to this famous piece of discovery.
- 07:28 You know, biblical archaeology is a wonderful discipline.
- 07:33 You dig up the land and it verifies the biblical testimony.
- 07:38 That's true, and what's fascinating when bringing this
- 07:42 to you, truth be known, there was a professor.
- 07:45 His name was Avraham Biran, who was head of the expedition in
- 07:50 northern Israel, Tel Dan, in 1993 and '94.
- 07:53 And this stone was discovered then.

- 08:06 This stone was sitting in the professor's crate, and along
- 08:09 comes Berg Production, who has produced the Zola Levitt
- 08:13 Ministries story for over 40 years.
- 08:16 And Ken Berg and Clayton are sitting there with him, and this
- 08:19 is in a mill crate in the professor's office, very humble.
- 08:23 And what happened is Ken Berg said, "Don't you think you need
- 08:26 to get this out?"
- 08:27 Well, it sits proudly in a museum now.
- 08:30 This is just a facsimile of it.
- 08:32 But the dollars that you contribute to "Zola Levitt
- 08:35 Presents" that we then turn around and give Berg Production,
- 08:39 it all has a way of bringing biblical news that's been lost,
- 08:43 and we bring the news to use.
- 08:45 Now, for the story at hand, the anointing, it's a fascinating
- 08:51 story in the book Shmuel, Samuel, 1 Samuel 16, after
- 08:57 describing that David didn't have a lot going for him.
- 09:00 In fact, his brothers kinda gave him up, didn't take him
- 09:03 seriously, and even his father kind of pushed him to
- 09:06 the margins.
- 09:07 But there was something in him.
- 09:09 There was a call, and he's brought before the prophet.
- 09:12 And we're told in the text, chapter 16, verse 12:
- 09:18 [speaking in Hebrew]
- 09:20 "And God said, 'Qum,'" arise," misha hehu, "and anoint him."
- 09:30 That word, by the way, "misha hehu," or "misha hahu,"
- 09:36 excuse me, actually, you might hear the word "Mashiach"
- 09:40 in that.
- 09:41 I kinda conflated that.
- 09:43 It's where we get the word "Messiah."
- 09:46 People speak, and rightly so, of Jesus the Messiah, more commonly
- 09:51 known as English, as Jesus Christ.
- 09:55 People think his father and mother were Mr. and Mrs. Christ,
- 09:58 that his birth certificate read: "Christ," comma,
- 10:01 "J," for "Jesus."
- 10:02 When actually, the word "Christ" itself is a Greek for the Hebrew
- 10:08 "Mashiach" or "Messiah."
- 10:11 And the word "Messiah" itself means "Anointed One."
- 10:18 So, let's bring it together.
- 10:19 You saw the picture of David, who was anointed.
- 10:25 The prophet poured the anointing oil on his head,
- 10:30 and the rest is history.
- 10:35 Well, there were different history makers that were
- 10:36 anointed.
- 10:37 Prophets were anointed, kings, priests.
- 10:42 David himself here, of course, anointed, in effect, as king.
- 10:48 He, in effect, was a great deliverer in ancient Israel,
- 10:54 and his story is in the past.
- 10:56 But the one that he presages belongs to the future in
- 11:02 perpetuity. And who am I referring to?
- 11:07 Jesus, called "Yeshua," actually in Hebrew, from a verb
- 11:14 "to save, to deliver, or to redeem."
- 11:19 This series is all about deliverance.
- 11:23 And when I think of deliverance, there's the ultimate Deliverer.
- 11:28 Oh, friends, this story talks about David of the past.
- 11:33 But, you know, Jews sing, [speaking in Hebrew]
- 11:39 "David, the king of Israel, lives forever."
- 11:42 Now, he's remembered forever.
- 11:44 Even the star, that is the Star of David, that is affixed to
- 11:48 Jewish jewelry and the flag of Israel itself reminds us of
- 11:55 the triumphs of David in days gone by.
- 11:58 But in saying, "David lives forever," he doesn't just live
- 12:02 in memory.
- 12:03 He doesn't just inspire a kind of confidence, but if the
- 12:07 biblical testimony, both testaments, is to be taken
- 12:11 seriously, David lives forever because that energy, that
- 12:17 anointing, is personified in the person who lives forever who
- 12:21 died, who was crucified, buried, and three days later, that
- 12:28 anointed one rose from the dead.
- 12:32 This Deliverer who lives to make intercession for us, this
- 12:38 Deliverer who facilitates a great deliverance, he himself

- 18:47 She will give birth to a son; and you shall call his name
