Dear Friends,

It has been a while since I’ve written you a description of a new television series. We have, of necessity, been making a lot of interview programs lately and we have aired some reruns of past series. But now the 16 programs plus the music video of the new House of David series are in production, and I can tell you all about them (you may order Part I, the first 8 programs, at this time. Part II will be offered later).

Some of you will have already seen the first two programs which concern the early life of David. Tending Sheep and The Anointing detail David as a shepherd boy and his anointing as the future king of his very special land. We had the services of a Messianic believer who is a real shepherd in Galilee, and also Dr. John Walvoord, the eminent theologian and Chancellor of Dallas Theological Seminary, to tell us about David’s kingship and its relevance today. The series will continue in October with two programs called David’s Harp, featuring modern-day harp-makers in Israel who are preparing their instruments for use in the coming Temple. The two programs feature in-depth interviews with ex-prime minster Yitzhak Shamir and opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu.

Then the series will go into some of the great stories of King David. Slaying Giants will describe the war with the Philistines and David’s personal battle with Goliath. A modern Israeli tank commander, who faced a Goliath-like force of Syrians in the 1973 war, will comment. His Ten-Thousands will be filmed at Ein Gedi, where David hid from Saul’s jealousy. At nearby Qumran we will talk with a Dead Sea Scroll translator about the finds in the caves of the area. David the Hunted will continue with the story of David’s pledge to honor “the Lord’s anointed.” Jerusalem street evangelist Jacob Damkani shares what it means to witness in modern-day Israel.

The Capital City will discuss the early City of David, which lies to the south of Mount Moriah. Modern-day settlers living at that same site give us their reasons for calling it home. House Problems and House Plans discuss the building of the Temple, the House of God on earth. David’s dramatic career really comes to life in this major issue of war-making, fund-raising, diplomacy and administration. We add commentary on Solomon’s temple with the insight of an Israeli archaeologist.

In the ensuing two House of Worship programs we look at actual temple worship as it was in David’s time. We travel to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, for a look at a full-size faithfully reproduced tabernacle to appreciate the structure and the artifacts.

In Divided and Conquered we study the division of Israel into two kingdoms and the difficulties faced under questionable leadership. Yitzhak Shamir rejoins us to discuss Israel’s present leadership. In Jerusalem Today we discuss the capital of Israel as declared by David 3,000 years ago. Benjamin Netanyahu rejoins us to discuss Arafat’s statement that Jerusalem is forever the capital of what he calls Palestine. We conclude with two programs on the present and the future. In Israel Today I interview Israelis and Palestinians about the peace process and, unlike other media, we bring you exactly what they say in a balanced format. In the final program, The Next Temple, Gershon Salomon, the leader of the Temple Mount Faithful. gives his view of the status of the third Temple. Are we about to see the rebuilding?

As usual, we will have a program at the very end to play all the music of the series and demonstrate our fine video footage of Israel. The cassette, Faith in The Fire, is already available for your order.

People have been telling us to get off the subject of Israel and back to the Bible, although I’m not sure what the difference is. But, if it’s Bible, then you will like these programs. The life of David and the wonderful lessons it teaches for our times, and even future times, is well worth studying, and we think that you will very much enjoy this new series. The programs should run right to the end of the year and probably will be regarded as our best location effort to date. I can tell you that we really had the cooperation of many wonderful Israeli authorities and our cameras went all over the country to chronicle this wonderful spiritual information.

Needless to say, that caused some expense and, without going into one of my long fund-raising appeals, I can only tell you that your gift would be very welcome at this time — more so than at the year’s end. As I remarked on TV, gifts now help pay the post-production expenses for these new programs. Gifts later on are not quite as important because donations will begin to arrive as the programs play. For those of you who are the real supporters of this ministry, this is a wonderful time to support it!

Thanks so much for making all of these opportunities happen for us. Believe me, I never forget that we do what we do by the grace of God and by those whom He inspires, and that includes you!

Thank you again and God bless you.

Your messenger,

P.S. Remember our bargain Christmas Tour — $1,999 for the Basic Tour just like last year. This is a chance to see the same sites we visit in our high-season tours and spend far less.
