Dear Friends,

While the world concentrates on O.J. and his troubles, we have been thinking of other things. Here is some commentary on news events that have been passing by.

It’s becoming obvious that our soldiers in the Persian Gulf War suffered from chemical and biological attacks, or at least many of them have come home very sick. Among the prophecies of the End Times is the Lord’s warning of pestilence, and this seems to answer to it.

Bosnia, the Israeli situation, Red China, etc., all cry out for an international solver like the Antichrist. A military spokesman in Israel informed our group that Iran has the atomic bomb now, probably having gotten it from North Korea. Persia is, of course, a power in the invasion of Gog and Magog — Ezekiel 38 & 39.

In Haiti we are so distressed that a dictator is keeping out a democracy that we are ready to send in the Marines. In Israel we seem distressed that a democracy is trying to keep out a dictatorship.

Arafat’s latest try for the tall tale-of-the-year award is his recent statement that Israeli occupation “destroyed the Palestinian infrastructure.” In reality, the Palestinians had little infrastructure whatsoever. The Israelis paved their roads, built their schools, supplied doctors, clean water and so forth, raised their life span from 42 to 67 years, and otherwise brought the 20th century to yet another group of backward, belligerent Arabs.

Hanan Ashrawi, Palestinian negotiator, in a meeting about “public funds” recently, indicated she did not  trust Arafat with the money.

The New York Times coverage of Israel, as well as that of 60 Minutes, CNN, etc., constantly brutalizes that democracy. The ABC news program, Prime Time, decided to investigate crooked movers and came up, I guess at random, with a company called Jerusalem Movers, indicating some obviously Jewish characters. The story was so relevant to ABC that it was repeated later in the year. I would hazard a guess that one in 1,000 moving companies are owned by Jews and, in my experience, I would deal with them confidently.

The networks habitually make Israel look bad by talking to lunatic fringe characters as if they were normal. CNN gives thorough coverage to Jews who oppose Israel. like Mike Wallace having the Kahane Chai people at the height of the peace process, as if theirs was an average perspective. The radical Kahane Chai movement represents 100 people out of 15 million! But those are the views on the “news.”

With all the coverage of Israel and so on, we must always remind ourselves that the august news commentators of CNN and the networks, and the Journalists of The New York Times, etc., are all so many salesmen. What they are there about is to hawk the products the sponsors present in the commercials, and if those products don’t sell, those people are gone. There is hardly a pretense anymore to reporting news. It is merely an entertainment show to gather the largest possible crowd. It puts one in mind of the snake oil salesman who did a bit of preaching, singing, or dancing to get the folks around and then got out the snake oil.

The New York Times recently listed dictatorships in the world and cited Cuba, North Korea and Zaire. It is evidently not polite to mention the 21 (count ‘em — 21) Arab dictatorships. That newspaper piously states “absent accountability to press scrutiny, what has flourished is corruption and brutality,” while their own “press scrutiny” sides with the dictatorship, at least in the Israeli/Palestinian situation. Meanwhile, somebody needs a little more help. The Palestinian police, I understood when I was in Israel, are being fed by Israeli soldiers. The PLO is so disorganized as to have failed to provide even food for its new army. The world’s oldest city (Jericho) has the world’s newest totalitarian government. We are watching the creation of a new Arab dictatorship, making it the 22nd.

I get a funny feeling when I see how American aid is distributed, and I wonder if this whole thing in Israel isn’t about money. Israel received three billion dollars this year: Egypt, 10 times Israel’s size, only two billion, and other countries less. Is Rabin selling Israel for cash or are we buying off pieces of the place for our masters, the lunatic Arab dictatorships?

This is a most opportune time to see Israel, on the brink of the moment in time preceding His return! Our Fall Festival Cruise and Land Tour will be unlike any other, comprising the three Festivals of Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles. Come and celebrate with us! Our itinerary is wonderfully laid out in a full-color brochure. Call Karen or Cynthia at (214) 690-1876 or our message center at 1-800-WONDERS for one today.

God bless!
