Dear Friends,
We are enclosing another Christmas brochure for your use and I do hope that you make good use of it. Each year at this time, we gather up our various television offerings—the books, tapes, maps and other biblical study materials—and collect them into this handy format for holiday season giving. You will see that the prices are modest and we have included the best of our materials.
I am sure you are aware that it is most helpful to us to get our materials out far and wide in this manner. Particularly at Christmas time we are aware that these books and tapes tend to arrive at the homes of nominal Christians and downright unbelievers. We are gratified by the responses we have from these folks to solid Bible teaching. Secondly, we are well aware that believers are going to buy Christmas gifts somewhere and we think that it is fitting and proper that the money being spent should help the Kingdom. When you buy from a ministry, you inevitably support the works of the Lord; when you buy at a shopping center there is no telling what you support. Third, we are all very directly helping the Holy Land when we use the materials made there. Our flags, our maps, our coins, and all of the Israeli artifacts that we offer are purchased over there. The people of the Book are seeing some rough times. Every little bit helps. (Many of you were concerned about the money we owed the Israeli video company for the footage in the Seven Feasts programs. Please know that we covered this invoice immediately and kept up our good relations. Thank you for responding so quickly and generously).
We are sorry, by the way, about the odd figures now used in computing sales taxes. This ministry always pays any taxes we owe, following the example of the Lord. We ask you to simply join us in dealing with Caesar as fairly as we do with God.
Concerning the brochure items, I can make a few “chef’s suggestions.” The notecards are especially lovely and are new this year. They were individually done by the artist who does the excellent drawings that depict Biblical scenes on our television programs. Bob’s spiritual gift has to do with making us see the Holy Land in very special ways. And I always recommend the three items on the cover of the catalogue. Our notebook is especially popular with our viewers and it should settle any number of doctrinal questions. The scroll is probably the most beautiful and useful offer we have. The album has been very well received and it represents a unique way to get some information across to those who won’t take the trouble to read books. Everyone uses music and this music is very spiritual.
Thanks for helping out.
As our ministry grows we have an almost perpetual need for good workers. The last time I mentioned this fact, we had letters from folks thousands of miles away. The spirit was willing but the flesh was out of state. Now let’s be practical. We are pleased that you are inspired by our work but if you feel that you’d want to help us on a day-to-day basis, you simply have to live in Dallas. So I’m rephrasing my past request and asking for competent, experienced helpers with unquestionable office skills who live in Dallas to get in touch with us. Thanks for praying about this.
I need to remind our vast audience of network viewers that we have some important time changes coming right up. Please look carefully at the following information and see if it affects your household. Please understand that we do not choose the times that our programs are shown on the various networks, and in almost every case we are very disappointed. We have to take what we can get, however, and the networks have problems of their own to contend with. Let’s all live together as brothers and sisters and make the best of a marvelous miracle like satellite television. These are the changes:
Beginning October 6, our times will be different on the CBN network. The new times will be Saturday at 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time, (6:30 a.m. Central, etc.) and on Sundays at 2:00 a.m. Eastern Time, (1:00 a.m. Central, etc. and 11:00 p.m. Pacific on Saturday evenings). This change does not affect our Dallas and Metroplex time of 11:00 p.m. Sunday nights on Channel 39.
The new time for PTL viewers is now Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time (9:30 Central Time, etc.).
TBN Viewers can presently find us on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time (7:30 p.m. Central Time, etc.).
Thank you for your faithful giving. We seem to always be behind and the light at the end of the tunnel is just a reflection from our red ink. But on the other hand, we are accomplishing what a non-profit organization is supposed to accomplish. If it’s not always broke, then not enough money is being spent for the mission at hand. We are still getting some very big production bills for the present series on the Seven Feasts of Israel. Stay with us. Thanks.
