Dear Friends!
Quick, change times!
If you’re a CBN viewer please know that ZOLA LEVITT LIVE will continue with a time change, at least through the coming summer. The network has agreed to carry the show at 5:30 PM Sundays E.S.T. (4:30 C.S.T., etc.) In return we will leave a 30-second “hole” in the show so that CBN may insert a promotional spot of their choosing.
Thus nothing will be lost of our shows since we’ll merely take out promotional spots of our own that were in the reruns anyway (Israel trips, flag offers, etc.) I consider this a very equitable solution to our present dilemma and am happy to tell you that at least for the coming summer we will not be taken of the CBN Satellite Network.
The Sunday time may actually work out better far many viewers since most folks don’t mind looking into their faith a bit on Sundays anyway. Many families are home Sunday afternoons so that we may be able to reach out to more people than with the present Thursday night showing.
The new time becomes effective at the beginning of June and will continue until fall. Presumably if the trade-off works out it will continue longer than that, and that is our hope. Naturally this does not effect viewers of the various cables associated with Channel 39 in Dallas, our home station. Those shows will continue at 9:00 PM Sundays as always. But those of you who used to watch us on various national cables on either Thursday or Saturday evenings should now look for us at the new Sunday afternoon times given above, starting June 7th (the Day of Pentecost!)
Well I must say we are heaving a sigh of relief at this time. It turned out that when CBN removed the Saturday showing a month ago we were badly hurt by that. It seems that many viewers stopped giving to this ministry at once as though it were a sinking ship. That was disappointing because it’s just when things are going the worst that we need the most support. I had rather hoped that people would redouble their efforts so we would have adequate funding for both new air time on new stations and new productions.
But things are now stabilizing. Who knows? Perhaps God merely wanted us to telecast on Sundays. In any case we have a temporary solution to our problems and we’re now starting to think about new production. That idea is still a little bit risky since if CBN drops us in the fall we wouldn’t have sufficient outlets to justify quality new shows. But this ministry has always taken risks in the full knowledge that with God there are no sinking ships. Jesus calmed the storm when His boat was threatened, and Paul and Johah survived rough seas in their faith. If Noah’s ark had failed we’d all be sunk!
Things are fine with my physical condition as well. As I said in the past newsletter I came through my six-month stress test with fine results. This treadmill endurance test six months after a heart attack is the real prover. Occasionally people “die trying” but I did as well as on stress tests before my heart attacks and therefore I am virtually in perfect shape. I’ll always have to stick to a fat-free diet and plenty of exercise, but those are good practices for any one of us. So the host is surviving and the show is surviving and it’s springtime in Dallas, three very agreeable situations.
In closing this time I want to again emphatically thank all of you who helped so much in March and April when we had our real crisis time. The vote of confidence received in your donations gave us strength, and the means to negotiate with CBN and to open up new stations across the nations. As things now stand, if we can keep all these balls in the air we’ll be viewed by more people than ever before at fairly nominal costs. The only problem we face is in making new shows since our production budget has been dangerously exhausted in buying the new broadcasting stations. If you can be of help with this, we consider it our most important ministry. New shows have to be made to announce new prophecy fulfillments and new angles on biblical study. The exhortation of the Church and the evangelism of the unbelievers is our product and we must renew it and refresh it constantly. I would deeply appreciate it if you could continue seeing us through this difficult summer, and, just as I said last year at this time, we’ll show you a wonderful harvest in the fall. The new shows will be better than ever and their outreach will be greatly increased.
Thanks for staying with us. I can’t imagine who has better friends than we do.
Your messenger,
