My dear friends,
I need to apprise you again of the latest developments with the CBN Network situation. One of our two weekly spots has been discontinued. We used to broadcast Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., E.S.T., and Saturdays at 11:00 p.m., E.S.T. The Saturday show has been taken off and we will only be playing on Thursdays from here on. If you have been used to watching us Saturday evenings on CBN, you can catch the same show each week on Thursday evenings. East coast viewers should tune in at 7:30 and each time zone west makes one hour earlier so that West coast viewers would get the show at 4:30 p.m.
We are still continuing to negotiate with CBN to see if there isn’t some way that ZOLA LEVITT LIVE can continue in the remaining time slot. At present we are scheduled only through May 2, but we are continuing to try to find a solution. At this point it’s possible that I may be able to compensate CBN in some way other than cash for the airtime. I might just say that if you are interested in going to Israel with me as your tour guide, immediately drop us a line to that effect.
Now the good news. We have been able to secure a number of excellent airtimes on other broadcast stations and networks and even coverage of the New York City area. Your kind donations of March and April made possible the purchase of the new outlets and I was delighted to see that we were able to make our way into that great city which so badly needs exposure to the Word of God. Anyone visiting New York City becomes aware very quickly that the enemy has done a great work there; the place is utterly dangerous, to say nothing of sinful. We hope to add a little fresh air and some living water to those in such desperate need of it. With all of its shortcomings, “I love New York” and so does our King. Very possibly we will kick up quite a stir in that largely Jewish territory with our particular kind of Bible teaching and we should have some interesting responses. We’ll keep you posted as that ministry develops.
A host of other new outlets are now receiving our tapes and broadcasting ZOLA LEVITT LIVE to people who have never seen it. We have a special advantage in this case, being able to pick out the best of our shows and routing them carefully to have the best effect. Conceivably greater blessings are in store from this new exposure than were possible under the former arrangements.
I write this just before Passover and just before dashing out to the airport again to do an out-of-town engagement. Sometimes I get to wondering why more Dallas churches don’t want to see their home-town Jewish Christian. I can’t claim to be born here but I would certainly rather drive to a church than fly to it. Come on, Dallas folks, save me a little time and effort.
In all truth this Passover season has almost finished me off. There have been a number of out-of-town engagements and a whole week of nightly demonstrations. I almost say the Passover service in my sleep these days, and I’ve taken Communion so often that I’ve never felt more forgiven! A number of people have asked us why Easter and Passover are on the same day and the answer is they’re not. We may say they are and we may compute our Resurrection Sunday to come out to April 19, which truly is Passover, but we couldn’t be right in doing that. A comparison of Lev. 23:5–6 with Lev. 23:10–12 will show that First Fruits, Resurrection Sunday or Easter as we call it, has to be the Sunday following Passover. In our refusal to take the Old Testament seriously we occasionally make a really grave error. This year we will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord on the wrong anniversary. At a glance we should realize that Passover and Easter could not be the same day since it’s clear that the crucifixion and the resurrection were not the same day. At some point in Church history it was decided that the Church would not consult the Jews or their calendar in order to place Easter, and a different system was invented quite inferior to the original. We are now playing the price of ignoring God’s Word. The date of Passover can be proved outside of any human reckoning or calendars; it’s always the first full moon of Spring.
The next major observance among the feasts, Pentecost, is also important to the Church. It’s our birthday as a matter of fact. The anniversary of the great miracle which began the society of Christian believers will be June 7 this year. This is certainly a day to remember and one that I wish that more churches would celebrate. Rather than making up new festival days, as some denominations have, we ought to learn more about those which God Himself proposed. My book on the Seven Feasts of Israel explains them in full and they make a beautiful picture of our Messiah indeed.
Well I seem to be rambling on this month. Frankly I’m so bushed that if it were anyone but you I wouldn’t bother to send a letter. I’ll spare myself the pitch for money this time I think., If you have some you can spare, send it to us and we’ll put it into God’s work immediately for you.
Do send up a prayer about our remaining on CBN. No matter how much other exposure we can get together, that satellite network is key to reaching this country. And stay with the program wherever you are. We’re doing everything we can to keep bringing it to you. If you’ve been watching on CBN and we go off in May, please don’t forget us. We’ll be trying to get back to you through some other means and we’ll always continue to serve you with our Newsletters and other materials.
Won’t it be nice when we join the King? Then we can see each other “live” all we want!
Your messenger,
