March 2026 Personal Letter

FROM JOSHUA & CALEB COLSON,
THE BEARDED BIBLE BROTHERS®

Shalom, peace.

It’s strange how peace — a word that should ease fear and bring comfort — can yield the opposite for Christians who take to heart the Apostle Paul’s admonition:

For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. (1 Thess. 5:3)

So, one can understand why some people experienced Biblical jitters when President Trump announced the formation of the “Board of Peace.” Seriously, this phrase was like a low-hanging punchline for Evangelical Believers.

Perhaps you’re wondering, “What is ‘the Board of Peace?’” or “How did we get here?” Its development seemed to come out of nowhere. This multinational body emerged from the international community’s continual outcry whenever President Trump suggested relocating Gazan refugees, and from Hamas’ rejection of ceasefire deals that would diminish their control. The Board was created to:

Board of Peace logo
  • Complete Hamas’ surrender
  • Facilitate Gaza’s reconstruction (though Gaza is never mentioned in its charter)
  • Protect Israel from international pressure
  • Prohibit another terrorist utopia from developing

But, as usual, the plans were compromised at Israel’s expense. The Jewish State continually pays the price for wars it doesn’t instigate — as with the invasions Israel sustained from Arab states in 1948, 1967, and 1973. This time, however, the Gaza War’s end holds no benefit for the Jews: Israel didn’t regain any of its ancestral land, but instead amassed incredible debt in defending its people against annihilation. Meanwhile, the perpetrators spread their anti-Semitic hate worldwide.

The mastermind behind the Board of Peace — Jared Kushner — swiftly pulled the rug out from under Prime Minister Netanyahu. The Board was originally promoted as a small, unilateral decision-making body. Kushner, however, turned it into the next “who’s who” among the global anti-Israel club: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, UAE, and Pakistan. Apparently, any Islamic, Jewish-hating nation is welcome to weigh in on Gaza’s future as long as they pay the $1 billion admission cost for a permanent Board seat. Even Vladimir Putin’s Russian Federation received a hearty invite.

Evidently, the Board’s goal is to become the premier global peacekeeping force! Even the utterly anti-Semitic UN is green with envy as the new hate-filled “Avengers” assemble. Predictably, most European nations have protested and rejected this Board because it lessens their international influence and it’s a joke.

Prime Minister Netanyahu initially objected to including Turkey and Qatar, asserting, “There will be no Turkish or Qatari soldiers in Gaza.” However, the Jewish State pledged to join the club after realizing that it was clearly outnumbered. But in another slap in the face, Netanyahu couldn’t attend the Board’s ceremonial launch in Davos, Switzerland. That’s because the Swiss had declared their intention to arrest him following the warrant for war crimes issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). Not surprisingly, the Board’s signing occurred at the World Economic Forum — the obvious precursor to the One World Financial system of Babylon the Great.

Last century brought the formation of the UN, NATO, the European Union, and the World Economic Forum. This century has brought the Abraham Accords and now the Board of Peace. Therefore, many Christians may wonder, “Do any of these organizations lead to the ‘covenant with many’ (Dan. 9:27) that the Beast confirms between the nations and Israel?” The answer is yes and no.

Satan has tested the waters for years, backing every new antiChrist dictator in hopes that he will be the son of perdition that Satan has anticipated for millennia to indwell. The devil has a history of going “all-in” with every empire that has tried to wipe out the Jewish people and establish global dominion. Thankfully, God has halted Satan’s progress every time, because only the Most High decides prophetic timing! As we draw closer to our Messiah Yeshua’s return, however, these peace treaties and global governance organizations resemble the future — and final! — seven-year covenant.

But there is hope! Black and white is becoming more evident as the meandering gray zone of mediocrity and lukewarm fades. Thus, the Church and the world can more clearly discern between good and evil. Unfortunately, as Isaiah 5:20 warns, even so-called Believers in Jesus declare that good is evil and evil is good. Every day, we brothers must purge anti-Semitic comments from our Bearded Bible Brothers social media sites. Shockingly, most of the hate-filled attacks come not from unbelievers, but from “Christians” who declare their misguided grievances. One recent Facebook poster confidently asserted:

“Is it logical that God chooses a People that don’t believe in His Son Jesus Christ? Are we to separate or congregate with the enemies of our Lord that murdered Him? If you don’t understand Hitler’s Wine Presses, you don’t understand the Word.”

A lot of perverse thought went into that response. Such deluded souls use Scripture out of context and twist God’s Word to support their anti-Israel, anti-Jewish agenda. When truth versus deception is at its clearest, most decipherable point, people consumed by jealousy choose the spirit of antiChrist rather than the Spirit of Christ.

It is our duty, as true Believers in Messiah Yeshua, to move forward in the fight for truth. We must declare God’s love for Israel and the Jewish people, along with His unbreakable covenant with Abraham. Remember, Gaza belongs to the Lord — He gifted it as an inheritance to the tribe of Judah. No matter how hard the nations may rage against Israel, they cannot stand against the power of the Most High!

May the Lord bless you and keep you,

Joshua and Caleb

FROM SARAH, OUR SABRA
ON THE GROUND IN ISRAEL

Dear Friend,

Shalom from the Holy Land. Imagine the following event that could have happened in ancient times:

A young Jewish boy leaves his home on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Accompanied by his family, the boy ensures that the livestock stays together and on the side of the road as they journey to Jerusalem.

The previous day had been busy with packing and last-minute tasks. After a restless night’s sleep, the family members were up before dawn, eager to get on their way.

Leaving the crystal-blue waters of Galilee behind, the family travels south to the Jordan Valley. To the east, they see the Nabataean territories. To the west are the Samaritans. Eventually they reach Jericho, where they visit the market with its exotic goods brought by camel caravans from faraway lands.

After another night’s sleep, the family turns westward. As they traverse the hilly country, white gravel replaces the dusty road. Ascending further, they pass the final Roman checkpoint atop the Mount of Olives. There, they view Jerusalem and the Temple in all its splendor.

Filled with expectation, the young boy hurries his family along. Down to the Kidron Valley they travel, passing olive groves and the vast stone walls of the southern point of the city. With great excitement they enter a gate and stop at the Pool of Siloam. There, they dip their weary feet in the cool water to wash off the dust from their journey. Afterward, everyone changes into their finest garments and prepares for their final ascent to the top of Mount Moriah — the pinnacle of the City of the Great King.

Ascending the steps of the Temple Mount, they enter through the Hulda Gates. This passageway is more like a tunnel, so everyone shades their eyes as they exit. On the other side, the gleaming Temple structure shines so brightly in the morning sun that they are almost blinded.

Exciting Discovery

Ongoing archaeological excavations at the City of David — the heart of ancient Jerusalem — reveal places and objects that sharpen our focus on the world of the Gospels. One of the most interesting recent developments was the unveiling of the “Pilgrimage Road” — an ancient, stepped street that once led from the Pool of Siloam to the Temple Mount.

Several months ago, I had an exclusive opportunity to walk where very few people have been for nearly 2,000 years. Tracing the footsteps of my Biblical heroes moved me deeply. It connected me to the rhythms of Biblical worship and the longing of pilgrims to draw near to God.

After years of careful excavation, this remarkable route was recently revealed to the world. This Second Temple-era road was likely constructed under orders from Pontius Pilate. It was a major thoroughfare for Jews ascending to Jerusalem for the great festivals of Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot.

Archaeologists have uncovered coins, weights, and even a measuring table along this road. These provide evidence that the ceremonial route also offered a marketplace bustling with the daily interactions of ancient Jerusalem’s residents.

Beneath the road, a drainage channel doubled as a hiding place during the Roman destruction in A.D. 70. In the channel, archaeologists have found oil lamps, coins, vessels, and even a Roman sword — somber reminders of the city’s dramatic fall.* At the midpoint of this road, a glass box highlights a Second Temple coin that melted into the stone, evidence of the intense fire that engulfed the city during its destruction.

* Some of the artifacts are noted in the article “Excavation Reveals Splendor and Destruction in Ancient Jerusalem” on p. 32 of the October 2024 Levitt Letter.

Walking the road today is a bit disorienting because it’s underground — covered by a long, dark tunnel that is fortified by massive amounts of steel and concrete. Archaeologists estimate that the original road was over 130 feet wide in some places, but they haven’t excavated much of it. Thus, the path occasionally narrows, and in those places I felt almost suffocated. While walking, I had to imagine the vast walls, houses, and vendors that would have lined it, and envision a blue sky above me.

A Future Road

In the New Testament, this road becomes a powerful symbol of future hope — a restored Jerusalem that draws Israel and people from every nation into God’s presence. What once enabled a physical pilgrimage will one day become a place of universal, eternal gathering with God’s people.

The New Testament presents Jerusalem as both a historical city and a transformed, future reality. This vision reaches its fullest expression when the Apostle John describes the New Jerusalem descending from Heaven (Rev. 21:2–3).

Unlike the earthly city that’s marked by conflict and division, the renewed Jerusalem will be radiant, holy, and open. Its gates are always open — emphasizing our ongoing access to God’s presence — and its light is the glory of God Himself.

Central to this vision is the gathering of the nations. John declares that “the nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the Earth will bring their splendor into it” (Rev. 21:24). This image fulfills earlier Biblical promises — including those from Isaiah and Zechariah — that Jerusalem will become a spiritual center for all people, with God at its center. Yeshua Himself confirmed this future when He noted that people would come “from east and west” (Matt. 8:11) — from all over the world — to take their place in God’s Kingdom.

In the New Jerusalem, the Temple no longer exists as a building, since God’s presence fills the entire city. Worship is no longer tied to sacrifice or sacred geography but to continual communion with God through Yeshua — the ultimate sacrifice.

For me, walking the Pilgrimage Road did not merely lead backward into history; it pointed me forward to a hope in which all people are invited to walk together toward God. Jerusalem is the symbol of the renewed world: Free from the curse (Gen. 3), it is a place where peace is restored and God dwells openly with His people.

We have much to hope for and anticipate.

Many blessings from Israel,

Im tirdefu lada-at oto“Press on to know HIM!” (Hosea 6:3 NLT)
