Description

Why is there no better book for learning Hebrew than this? Many, many reasons. First of all, Zola’s primer teaches both print and script, so you will be ready to read, speak, write and understand Hebrew in Israel as well as in heaven. Second, it progresses gradually enough that even the faint-hearted will find immediate value in it, nurturing them to proceed on a friendly course toward a unique intimacy with God’s language, land and people.

Unlike “kiddy” primers, this one serves as a benevolent tool for transliterations from the Bible. Dedicated students will find themselves reading the text with Sephardic pronunciations and feeling a sense of real accomplishment.

Using an “adult-learning” model, it includes plenty of practice. At over 400 pages, this text is all you need to progress from knowing not one letter of Hebrew to reading and speaking it with confidence. If you have enjoyed our Levitt Letter Hebrew Lessons, then you have already experienced some of John Parson’s enthusiasm for you to learn the language! Foreword by Zola Levitt.

I think it’s going to be a good study, but a lot of the pages are stuck together. I have to tear the pages apart and it is tearing the tops of the pages. I don’t like.

  2. T Solomon –

Great study guide for beginners. Easy to understand.

  3. Rob Stewart –

This book takes a ground up approach to Hebrew that builds your confidence through bite-sized chapters. An excellent volume! I wish Mr. Parsons could be convinced of the need for a second! Thank you to all at ZLM involved in it’s preparation!

  4. Ranaye (verified owner) –

Fantastic book. I love working with it and have learned so much in a few days. As an educator I appreciate the well-planned pedigogical design. Wish it had a CD to help with pronouncing words. I try my best but have no one to double check me. No matter why you are learning Hebrew this is the best way to do it!

  5. Yloandal –

I love this book. I’ve been studying past lessons and I’ve been learning more from this book than all the other studies from other books. This is the best.

  6. Sam –

Interested to learn and study Hebrew in a better form. Hope this will fulfill my need.

  7. Abigail –

I have used this book with children ages 11-18 in our homeschool and have really enjoyed it! The only thing I wish it had was an answer key to the tests and a pronunciation guide for some words and vowel names/markings. I have studied along with my children so I could have the answers, but honestly my oldest son is better at it than I am. My children, with no prior knowledge (other than attending a Messianic congregation) have learned to transliterate Hebrew to English. Now we need a book two!!! Another recommendation!

  8. GJM –

I’m ordering this book, however, as the Lord created all in His own image and language, up to a point when He scattered the peoples with different languages, I do not believe that we will have to know, read, speak Hebrew when we get to Heaven. We will all be able to read, speak and write the Heavenly language that the Lord started us out with. My cousin suggested this book for me.

I know that immersion is best. One needs to hear native speakers since this isn’t sign language– which is only visual. I feel led by Ruach Kodesh to order this. It’s Israeli Independence Day! :o)

  10. Eliana –

I ordered this book five years ago, and felt it was overwhelming and such an unusual language for me to learn on my own. Thankfully, I found a class locally that was teaching Biblical Hebrew, and just happened to be using this book! It was taught by an Israeli that brought this language to life in such a way that I never expected. I went on to study modern Hebrew on my own, and till this day am still in love with this Godly language. I highly recommend this book as a starting point. Now I’m assisting as a small group leader using this book. It’s very well done in my humble opinion.

  11. Navi –

Great resource for first-time learners of Hebrew! RECOMMENDED!!!

  12. Tamara –

This is a great step-by-step approach for learning Hebrew. It really helped me go on to learn Hebrew grammar (the author also teaches grammar on his website). Thank you ZLM!

  13. Pastor Ulysses Elder –

It’s not a question of having to do anything, But it is a fact that God our heavenly entrusted his Chosen people to bless the world with the Holy Scriptures, and it is a Jewish book. We in the Western world need to understand that Yeshua was a bearded, Jewish Rabbi, and that his de facto spoken language was Hebrew. This interactive study guide has been such a tremendous blessing to work through and deepen my understanding of knowing how to respect, hold in holy awe, write, pronounce, read, transliterate, and most of all, how to translate from the Tanakn with accuracy without grabbing someone else’s commentary or interpretation. I am starting a small group to pass on what I have grasped so that I can take in more by helping other believers in Yeshua to become more scripturally accurate in their understanding of the Holy Bible by taking them through this book.
