- 00:18 Hey, this week we're talking about giants.
- 00:20 We're here at Hebron, Kirjath Arba.
- 00:22 Arba was the father of many giants, of giant races.
- 00:26 There's three of them, Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, and these
- 00:30 giants ruled this territory with an iron fist.
- 00:32 The Israelites were quite scared of him, but not Joshua
- 00:35 and Caleb.
- 00:36 Joshua: No, not at all.
- 00:38 So if you want to really find out the amazing stories that

- 02:15 You know, last week, if you were watching, the conquest

- 02:20 All the major battles were fought, and now it's task to get
- 02:25 rid of the stragglers in the land of Canaan, those to the
- 02:28 north and south, and those on the coasts, like the
- 02:30 Philistines, and so Joshua is going to release the tribes to
- 02:34 go receive their inheritance.
- 02:36 This is 1399 BC, 5 years after they first crossed the Jordan
- 02:40 River and got into Canaan.
- 02:42 The tribe of Judah is going to Hebron, and God has a very
- 02:46 important message to Joshua, which really sets this all up.
- 02:50 It says in Joshua chapter 13, verse 1, "When Joshua had grown
- 02:54 old, the Lord said to him, 'You are now very old, and there are
- 02:59 still very large areas of land to be taken over.'"
- 03:02 Caleb: All right, guys, here we are.

- 03:06 Back when I was 85 years old I came here, and I'm like, "This
- 03:10 is my mountain.
- 03:11 I wanna defeat the giants that were here," and everybody else

- 03:16 I'm like, "Hey, we can take these giants off."

- 03:21 This is the ancient Hebron right here.
- 03:24 Chaim Malespin: It's amazing, you know, I love your dad.
- 03:26 Jeph--how do you pronounce it?
- 03:28 Caleb: Jephunneh?
- 03:29 Chaim: Yeah, in Hebrew, Jephunneh is like, the one who
- 03:32 turns and looks.
- 03:33 He's decided to teach his kid, Caleb--well, the other Caleb, to
- 03:37 teach him, hey, you're gonna turn towards a certain path, and
- 03:41 walk this path.
- 03:43 I think he instilled that in his son, his very name, and then
- 03:45 Caleb, which is like, like a heart.
- 03:47 Caleb means like a heart, and his heart was in the same way
- 03:51 turned after God's purposes, even at age 85.
- 03:54 He's like, "I'm as strong as I was," how does he say, "when I
- 03:57 was young?"
- 03:58 Caleb: He says, "I'm as strong as I was when I was 40
- 04:00 years old."
- 04:02 Joshua: Joshua 14:6 through 12.
- 04:04 "Now the people of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and
- 04:08 Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, 'You know
- 04:11 what the Lord said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh Barnea
- 04:15 about you and me.
- 04:16 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me
- 04:19 from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land.
- 04:22 And I brought him back a report according to my convictions ...
- 04:25 So on that day Moses swore to me, "The land on which your feet
- 04:29 have walked will be your inheritance and that of your
- 04:32 children forever, because you have followed the Lord my

- 05:09 We have these ritual cleansing baths right here.
- 05:12 Every Jew knows what the ritual cleansing of baptism is.
- 05:16 You know, you would cleanse yourself before you would go
- 05:18 before the Lord.
- 05:20 People thought, or at least, you know, when other non-Jewish
- 05:24 people would dig up these sources, that these were not

- 05:27 They did not want to attest that this was originally Jewish land,

- 05:58 come to the tabernacle, before you come before me, and get your
- 06:02 dirty hands on the scroll, you gotta wash, you gotta cleanse,
- 06:07 then you can handle the word of God."
- 06:09 Joshua: I don't know, I think you see this story, and I think
- 06:11 this seems to be a generational issue, is that you see the old
- 06:14 guard who's like, "What are you talking about?
- 06:16 I said back then we could take him.
- 06:18 We can still take him, and I don't know what the deal is with
- 06:20 you pansies now, not knowing that we can."
- 06:22 You know, we have the generation now who's like, doesn't want to
- 06:25 leave the keyboard, doesn't want to get from behind, you know,
- 06:28 their profiles.
- 06:29 They've created all of their little emojis, and me-mojis to
- 06:31 protect themselves, but they don't want to actually go out
- 06:33 into the real world, have real confrontations, real this,
- 06:36 real that.
- 06:37 Here's Caleb at 85 going, "I'd kick my 40 year old self's butt.
- 06:40 I'm ready. Let's do this.
- 06:42 Let's make it happen," and yet you have that generation who's
- 06:45 seen the fight, heard the promises of God, who's been
- 06:48 through all of it, and the new generation doesn't want to get
- 06:51 their hands dirty.
- 06:52 Caleb: It's not that the giants weren't scary looking.
- 06:54 I mean, some of them are described in scripture as having
- 06:56 six fingers on each hand, six toes, double layers of teeth.
- 07:01 They had domed heads.
- 07:02 You know, they were imposing, and God wasn't denying that they
- 07:06 looked imposing.
- 07:07 He just said, "I'm stronger than them," and all Joshua and Caleb
- 07:09 had to do originally, which they did, was like, "Oh, we can take
- 07:12 him, 'cause God said we could."
- 07:14 All they had to do was trust in what God told them to do, and be
- 07:17 obedient to that, and Caleb was finally fulfilling what he
- 07:21 started 45 years ago.
- 07:24 He was fulfilling that task, and he did it right here, and
- 07:27 it--hey, it was quite a trip to get here, man, but it's
- 07:30 worth it.
- 07:31 Caleb: Joshua 15:13 through 14.
- 07:34 "Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among
- 07:37 the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord
- 07:41 to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is in Hebron (Arba was the
- 07:46 father of Anak).
- 07:47 Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak from there: Sheshai,

- 07:58 You see these bottom stones right behind us, these cyclopean
- 08:01 walls from the middle Bronze Age.
- 08:03 You have, you know, Iron Age over here.
- 08:06 There's two towers at this end, and even a third tower.
- 08:10 Our archaeologist friends just told us that we're down here,
- 08:12 but the point is, he's saying these walls are like, seven
- 08:15 meters tall.
- 08:16 They--this is just like the base of the tel.
- 08:18 They kept going up and up and up.
- 08:19 What were they trying to Keep out.
- 08:22 I don't know.
- 08:23 Joshua: Hold on. If you've got a wall--
- 08:25 Caleb: A five foot tall dude.
- 08:26 Joshua: That's taller than a guy this size, I'm thinking giants.
- 08:28 I just want to throw that out there, as an above average
- 08:31 sized guy.
- 08:33 Chaim: Well, Kirjath Arba.
- 08:34 Caleb: There is more than just one of these giant cities.
- 08:35 Kirjath Sepher was rumored to be a giant city, and when Caleb
- 08:40 finished defeating this city with the tribe of Judah, they
- 08:44 came to Kirjath Sepher.
- 08:45 He's like, "We could take this, guys.
- 08:46 It's a cakewalk, but I have a problem.
- 08:48 I have an unmarried daughter that's supposed to be married.
- 08:51 We've just been fighting for five years straight, and now I
- 08:53 gotta take care of that."
- 08:55 So he decides to gift wrap the prize of his daughters to
- 08:59 whoever the man is brave enough, has the faith in God, to take on
- 09:03 that city Kirjath Sepher.
- 09:05 Joshua: Joshua 15:15 through 16.
- 09:07 "Then he (Caleb)
- 09:09 went up from there (Hebron)
- 09:10 to the inhabitants of Debir (formerly the name of Debir was
- 09:14 Kirjath Sepher).
- 09:15 And Caleb said, 'He who attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to
- 09:19 him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife.'"
- 09:23 Caleb: Now, I have two daughters over here.
- 09:25 Joshua: Are we going that way today?
- 09:27 Caleb: Yeah, did you see those two daughters?
- 09:28 Joshua: Ladies and gentl--no, gentleman.
- 09:30 Caleb: I think that's the best way to choose a husband for my
- 09:33 daughters right here.
- 09:34 Joshua: So who's the giants that we need slayed?
- 09:36 Do we have anybody in particular we're looking for?
- 09:37 Do you have anybody left on the deck?
- 09:39 Chaim: Well, there's enemies throughout history, the
- 09:40 Philistines, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the--
- 09:44 Caleb: There's still the Iranian regime that we can have them
- 09:46 take on, people in Gaza.
- 09:48 So, if you have any suitors, girls, then they have to come
- 09:52 to me.
- 09:53 I have a list of places they need to defeat first.
- 09:55 Joshua: Very easy test.
- 09:56 Anybody 85 or younger should be able to handle it.
- 09:58 What I like about Caleb in this story, not just that he's
- 10:00 slinging out his daughters for, you know, the best prize guy.
- 10:03 No, I--when you look at the Bible, and you talk about faith,
- 10:06 and you try to apply faith today, especially when people
- 10:08 are talking about it, it seems like there are these one act
- 10:10 movements in history, right?
- 10:12 So you look at Hebrews 11, and people love to quote it,
- 10:14 'cause it's like, oh, so and so did this,
- 10:15 and so and so, and it's like you pull that
- 10:17 one moment out where their guy stood up.
- 10:18 But here's Caleb, faith is his whole lifestyle, right?
- 10:20 Yeah, we know about it from the two spies, but here he is at 85.
- 10:24 He's got a single daughter.
- 10:25 He's got a giant problem.
- 10:26 He's got--hold on, I got an even better idea.
- 10:28 I'm gonna take my daughter, put her up.
- 10:30 Whoever want--you know, that's faith.
- 10:32 That's his kid, right?
- 10:33 He's willing to say, "If there's a man out here who's man enough
- 10:35 to stand up with character, and to take out these giants, then
- 10:39 I'm man enough to believe that that one can handle
- 10:41 my daughter."
- 10:42 You know, this was a lifestyle thing for him, and on top of it,
- 10:45 Caleb wasn't the one that you read about in the Bible that's
- 10:48 the poster-child that we put on, you know, the Kellogg's boxes of
- 10:50 cereal, right?
- 10:52 He's in the background.
- 10:53 He wasn't seeking for the fame position.
- 10:54 He wasn't even the one we tell the most stories about, right?
- 10:56 He gets a couple of verses here and there, but yet he lives it
- 10:59 because that is who he was, and I think that's what we miss in
- 11:03 life, is God's called us to live by faith, not by sight, in
- 11:06 everything we do.
- 11:08 It is a lifestyle.
- 11:09 Chaim: Who will stand up like Caleb?
- 11:11 Who will stand strong, and say, "I got the faith, 'cause I'm on
- 11:13 the winning side, and these giants aren't gonna take me out.
- 11:17 I'm gonna take them out."
- 11:18 Caleb: Joshua 15:17, "So Othniel the son of Kennaz, the brother
- 11:22 of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter
- 11:26 as wife."
- 11:27 Caleb: Gentlemen, this is the Acropolis of Tel Hebron.
- 11:31 This was the pinnacle center of the city, where all the action
- 11:35 took place, and as you can see is a field, and no one has done
- 11:38 any excavation, and for years I've been reading stories about
- 11:42 how people tried to start, and then the Arabs get all mad, and
- 11:45 then they stopped doing the excavations, and we just heard
- 11:48 from our archaeologist friends that they are indeed going to
- 11:50 start very soon to dig up the ancient relics of the past, and
- 11:54 and to find out what's really here.
- 11:56 It's gonna be amazing.
- 11:57 Chaim: That's phenomenal.
- 11:58 I mean, there's springs here.
- 12:00 There's things that attest to the biblical account, right here
- 12:02 in the disputed capital of Palestine--oh, no, biblical
- 12:06 heartland of Israel that God promised.
- 12:09 Caleb: And David had his--had a palace here.
- 12:11 You know, it was his first capital.
- 12:13 So surely they're gonna find something awesome here, but back
- 12:16 to that story, you know, of Othniel, and winning Caleb's
- 12:19 daughter Achsah.
- 12:21 So he did it.
- 12:22 He defeated the Giants on his own.
- 12:24 He defeated Kirjath Sepher, and after that, she had the
- 12:29 boldness, Achsah, to go forth to her father, and ask for a gift.
- 12:33 She wanted a spring of water, 'cause she was eyeing
- 12:36 the future.
- 12:37 You know, she wanted to take care of her family, and they're
- 12:39 in a desert place, you know, and she wanted to make sure that her
- 12:42 family had a future, they had water to feed their flocks, and
- 12:45 she knew that she was gonna be having children soon, and with
- 12:47 that boldness, what did Caleb do?
- 12:49 He gave her more.
- 12:50 He gave her two springs, and not far from here they have found
- 12:53 ancient Kirjath Sepher with two springs of water there.
- 12:56 Joshua: This story is special to me because this is a time period
- 12:58 in history before the world knows anything about God's
- 13:00 grace, and about God presenting himself as this loving Father,
- 13:04 and yet you see Caleb presenting this scenario on behalf of his
- 13:08 daughter, and you see him honoring and blessing his
- 13:11 daughter for her standing up in faith, for her coming up to Dad,
- 13:14 and being like, "Dad, can I have this," and he "goes, Because you
- 13:17 were bold, I'm gonna give you even more than you asked for,"
- 13:20 and I love that even at this point in history, the God, who's
- 13:23 the same yesterday, today, and forever is saying, "If you'll
- 13:25 just come to me as your dad, and ask for that which is on your
- 13:30 heart, I'm going to bless you with even more, and this land
- 13:32 that I'm gonna give you is gonna go on for generations."
- 13:35 Caleb: Everybody knows who Othniel becomes, the first judge
- 13:37 of Israel.
- 13:38 He becomes the leader of all the 12 tribes.
- 13:40 So obviously his faithfulness paid off.
- 13:42 He had to take that step of faith, and Caleb was just
- 13:45 grooming him for the position that he would take in
- 13:47 the future.
- 13:48 Joshua: Hebrews 10:38, "Now the just shall live by faith; But if
- 13:52 anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him."
- 13:56 Caleb: I'm here with Haim Shkolnik.
- 13:58 You are an archaeologist.
- 13:59 You're about to endeavor to dig up more of Tel Hebron.
- 14:03 Thanks for joining me today.
- 14:05 Haim Shkolnik: Oh, thanks for having me.
- 14:06 It's a great honor.
- 14:08 Caleb: You've been taking us today to so many amazing sites.
- 14:11 You're actually the head officer for all of Judea.
- 14:14 Tell me what you do.
- 14:16 Haim: Well, in one sentence, I would say we are protecting the
- 14:22 antiquities of all the periods, of all the civilizations, of all
- 14:26 the peoples who lived on this land, and that includes, you
- 14:32 know, a variety of measures, some active actions, some
- 14:36 passive actions, sometimes law prosecutions.
- 14:39 Depends on the case.
- 14:42 Caleb: So what do you plan on doing here at the citadel of
- 14:46 Tel Hebron?
- 14:47 What's coming up?
- 14:49 Haim: So as you already understood, as you could see
- 14:51 yourself, most of the city had not been excavated yet, only the
- 14:57 outskirts, and next to the walls.
- 15:00 Usually outside of the walls or when it's inside the city, so
- 15:03 it's against the wall.
- 15:05 This is the first capital of Judah.
- 15:07 This is the first capital.
- 15:09 Here, the history of the Jewish people started, of the Jewish
- 15:14 monarchy, Jewish kingdom.
- 15:17 Caleb: Through David's line, yeah, and that's important, but
- 15:21 you know, Haim, I appreciate you taking us around.
- 15:23 Thank you for having the time to speak with me today.
- 15:26 Haim: Thank you for taking this time, and for standing this
- 15:30 actually because I guess you heard more archaeology
- 15:32 this--during this day, more than the last decade, I guess.
- 15:37 Caleb: This is the time to unearth the history, the past of
- 15:40 what God has in store for his people.
- 15:42 It foretells the future, so.
- 15:44 Haim: Yes, and these are some--these are really some nice
- 15:48 and splendid remains, which deserve some publicity.
- 15:51 So, thank you.
- 15:53 Caleb: Thank you.
- 15:55 Caleb: Genesis 23:2 through 4, "And Sarah died at Kiriath-arba
- 15:59 Arba (that is, Hebron)
- 16:01 in the land of Canaan...
- 16:02 And Abraham rose up from before his dead and said to the
- 16:06 Hittites, 'I am a sojourner and foreigner among you; give me
- 16:10 property among you for a burying place...'"
- 16:13 Caleb: All right, guys, here's a very important part of Hebron.
- 16:17 It--we're surrounded by apartments on all sides, but you
- 16:20 see right here, here's part of the early Bronze Age wall of the
- 16:26 city, and here is a stairway that leads up, assumingly, to
- 16:31 the gate of the city, and the same middle age Bronze Age wall
- 16:36 that goes up to it.
- 16:37 So people are believing this is from the time of Abraham, guys.
- 16:41 So Abraham would have to ascend up here.
- 16:43 All the deals were made outside the city, you know, for
- 16:46 land purchases.
- 16:47 He was out there with the Hittites, and wheeling and
- 16:49 dealing for the cave of Machpelah.
- 16:52 We're here where Abraham was.
- 16:53 This is amazing.
- 16:55 Chaim: I don't know if you know what a hotbed this is.
- 16:56 I mean, we're here on the actual foundation.
- 16:59 This whole thing is one of the foundation walls, and the truth
- 17:01 of the fact of this being a city where Abraham bought land here,
- 17:05 is like a no no for some people.
- 17:09 I've actually seen right here, all--people almost ready to
- 17:12 throw molotov cocktails, riot going on, but the truth will set
- 17:15 us free, won't it?
- 17:17 Caleb: Hebron!
- 17:18 Chaim: City of earth, and it's the earth where our
- 17:20 foundations are.
- 17:21 Caleb: And the earth where our patriarchs are buried.
- 17:24 Chaim: That's right.
- 17:25 Joshua: And the earth where the archaeologist said I was too
- 17:27 heavy to step on because I would damage the site, but I love it.
- 17:29 I love it from over here.
- 17:31 I wonder if the apartment complex has this in the
- 17:32 amenities section, when they're like you have HBO, you have
- 17:35 Abraham's footsteps, you have-- Caleb: Well, actually I want to
- 17:39 show you, there's two houses over here that attest to the
- 17:42 continual habitation of Jewish presence in this city.
- 17:47 So follow us over this way.
- 17:49 Caleb: Genesis 23:16, "...Abraham weighed out for
- 17:52 Ephron the silver that he had named in the hearing of the
- 17:55 Hittites, four hundred shekels of silver, according to the
- 17:59 weights current among the merchants."
- 18:02 Caleb: There's two homes behind here, ancient Jewish homes.
- 18:05 There's layers here from, you know, going down to 2,300 BC,
- 18:08 homes from the time of King Hezekiah, and they're Jewish
- 18:11 homes, and we can attest to that, can't we, Chaim?
- 18:14 Chaim: We can, and there's actual findings here which prove
- 18:16 that beyond a shadow of a doubt, but just before that, you can
- 18:19 actually see the layers of how it was a building that was
- 18:22 destroyed and burnt by enemies.
- 18:24 Caleb: Yeah, ash layers right there.
- 18:25 Chaim: Yeah, the ashes of the town, and then rebuilt another
- 18:27 time, in these layers from the time of King Hezekiah.
- 18:30 Caleb: It was a lot of money that they paid.
- 18:32 He only wanted the cave, but he ended up having to pay for the
- 18:34 cave and the field.
- 18:36 Chaim: I think it all means something because there's no
- 18:38 dispute anymore about who really this--who Abraham is, both in
- 18:42 Islam, both in--in any--in all history we know who he was, and
- 18:46 what he did.
- 18:47 He didn't--he could have won it in a fair fight, but it's not
- 18:50 what happened.
- 18:52 He decided to buy it.
- 18:53 I think that was God's providence for the generations
- 18:55 to come, including me.
- 18:57 Caleb: To prove we have the deed.
- 18:58 Joshua: Genesis 49:29, "Then he (Jacob)
- 19:02 gave him these instructions: 'I'm about to be gathered to
- 19:05 my people.
- 19:06 Bury me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron
- 19:09 the Hittite...
- 19:11 There Abraham and his wife Sarah were buried, there Isaac and his
- 19:14 wife Rebekah were buried, and there I buried Leah.
- 19:18 The field and the cave in it were bought from the Hittites.'"
- 19:22 Caleb: Guys, what could be better for a grand finale than
- 19:24 showing up at the site of where our patriarchs, our Jewish
- 19:28 fathers are buried, on top of the cave where Abraham, Isaac,
- 19:32 Jacob, Leah, Sarah, Rebekah was buried, and some say even Adam
- 19:40 and Eve.
- 19:41 There's no evidence to prove that.
- 19:42 Chaim: But not Rachel.
- 19:44 Rachel would have been near Bethlehem.
- 19:45 Joshua: What about Ishmael?
- 19:46 Caleb: He didn't make it.
- 19:48 Joshua: He didn't make the cut, oh.
- 19:49 Israel Hanna: That's interesting too, isn't it?
- 19:50 Caleb: It is very interesting.
- 19:52 Today there is a mosque inside, and that's a church--
- 19:55 Joshua: This is really messy.
- 19:56 Caleb: Yeah, a synagogue.
- 19:58 Joshua: Who's team's in charge now.
- 19:59 Caleb: It's kind of split between the two.
- 20:00 So it's a site of a lot of contention.
- 20:03 If you look up your--in your history books, different
- 20:05 conflicts happened here in the past, and that's why we're in a
- 20:08 very contentious area right here.
- 20:09 Chaim: It's true, and even the fact that the stress you feel
- 20:12 when you're here.
- 20:13 Like, is there going to be an outburst of some violence?
- 20:15 I know we had our car, our charity with the Aliyah Return
- 20:18 Center, it was blocked just over that way by a mob.
- 20:21 It was on TV.
- 20:22 I popped up my phone.
- 20:23 I wasn't in the car, and there they're like.
- 20:25 They're almost getting lynched.
- 20:26 So it is a stressful time, and, you know, in 1948, 'cause
- 20:29 Islamic conquest stopped around 1511.
- 20:32 They stopped taking land.
- 20:34 They're like, we'll chill with what we have, but you know
- 20:36 what's the opposite of chilling?
- 20:37 Is if suddenly, whoop, you're not in your armchair chilling,
- 20:40 and 1948 happens, and the Jews are coming from Europe, and
- 20:43 coming back home to the promised land, but it kind of awakened,
- 20:46 and coming to live here in Hebron in 1948, 1967 as well
- 20:51 when we--the Six Day War, you know.
- 20:53 Suddenly more Jewish people are living here, and that presence,
- 20:56 that affirmation of God's Word, of God's covenant, promised that
- 20:59 he'd bring us back to the land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
- 21:03 kind of is in--is a clash with another jihadist narrative.
- 21:06 Caleb: And when you think of this was purchased 4,000 years
- 21:09 ago, it's a very long time, and that is to me the very first
- 21:13 conquest of Canaan, not by the sword, but by the dollar, by the
- 21:17 shekel, by the silver coin.
- 21:19 This is where Abraham proved and verified, "This is for
- 21:22 my people.
- 21:24 I have the deed.
- 21:25 This is where they will be buried, and this is the land
- 21:27 they will inhabit because God promised it."
- 21:30 Joshua: The most unique part to me about the journey, 'cause
- 21:31 every place that we've gone that has been land that was given,
- 21:35 right, to Abraham, and Joshua did this, and Abraham did this,
- 21:37 there wasn't one blanket move.
- 21:39 You had to listen to God for each one, right?
- 21:41 So you said Abraham didn't come in with a sword on this one and
- 21:43 take the land.
- 21:45 He bought it.
- 21:46 He overpaid for it, right?
- 21:47 That's what God told him to do, but over in another spot, he
- 21:49 took it by, you know, kicking butt and taking names, and
- 21:51 Joshua--there isn't a moment in life where just because God's
- 21:55 given it to you, there is a fill in the blank answer for how--you
- 21:59 have to listen to God on how you were supposed to take the land,
- 22:02 acquire the land, how you keep the land.
- 22:04 Everything just because you have an inheritance doesn't mean you
- 22:06 don't have to take it because the enemy is constantly trying
- 22:09 to come in, and I think that all these stories kind of
- 22:11 prove that.
- 22:12 As you walk in here you just feel that.
- 22:13 That constant tension we talked about everywhere is constantly
- 22:15 the enemy trying to test that.
- 22:17 "Oh yeah, you're gonna keep that.
- 22:18 Is that yours? You sure?
- 22:19 'Cause I have the keys now. I got the keys."
- 22:21 Give it back! Give me your keys.
- 22:23 Well, if y'all wanna go ahead and distract everybody else, I'm
- 22:25 gonna go climb in the tomb, and see what I can find on
- 22:29 that Stetson.
- 22:30 Israel: I wouldn't do that if I was you.
- 22:32 Joshua: I got this.
- 22:33 Let's catch my breath here for a sec.
- 22:34 Is that dinner?
- 22:36 Is that--okay, yeah, what we'll do, I'll come back later.
- 22:37 I'll come back later.

- 23:40 Joshua: What, is this Athens, Texas?
- 23:43 No, this is Athens, Greece.
- 23:45 Caleb: That's right guys, the episode's not over yet.
- 23:49 Now, throughout this series, we've been focusing on Satan's
- 23:52 plots to take over the promised land through his proxy vessels,
- 23:56 these world devouring kingdoms.
- 23:59 At first it was Assyria, it was Babylon, it was Persia.
- 24:02 Now we're talking about Greece, the Greek Empire.
- 24:05 So we decided to come here to Athens, and to the Parthenon
- 24:09 behind us.
- 24:11 Joshua: Parthenon was a temple to the so-called virgin
- 24:14 goddess Athena.
- 24:16 Now, if you think about Las Vegas as being the sin city of
- 24:18 America right now, Athens was the sin city back then for
- 24:22 idol worship.
- 24:23 Everybody came here to worship the demon gods.
- 24:26 It was the hub of it, but Greeks dominating swell across the
- 24:29 world, that was gonna begin with a young man by the name of
- 24:31 Alexander the Great.
- 24:35 Joshua: Daniel 8:8, "Therefore the male goat grew very great;
- 24:39 but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in
- 24:43 place of it four notable ones came up toward before winds
- 24:46 of heaven."
- 24:48 Caleb: Now, there have been many antichrists throughout history
- 24:50 at that point.
- 24:51 You had Tiglath-pileser, you had Sennacherib, you had
- 24:54 Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, but this antichrist would come now
- 24:58 out of the Seleucid portion of this Greek Empire, and his name
- 25:03 may sound familiar to you.
- 25:05 It's Antichus Epiphanes the fourth, but let's go back to
- 25:09 that very important vision of the goat with one horn.
- 25:13 Joshua: I'm getting a little weary of anybody that starts off
- 25:15 with antichetha, antiochetha.
- 25:18 Caleb: Not safe.
- 25:19 Joshua: It's never good.
- 25:20 I can't even pronounce it.
- 25:22 Caleb: Daniel 8:9 through 12, "And out of one of them (the 4
- 25:25 horns or generals who came after Alexander)
- 25:27 came a little horn which drew exceedingly great toward the
- 25:31 south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land.
- 25:34 And it came up to the hosts of heaven; and it cast down some of
- 25:36 the host and some of the stars to the ground, and
- 25:39 trampled them.
- 25:40 He even exalted himself as high as a Prince of the host; and by
- 25:43 him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His
- 25:46 sanctuary was cast down.
- 25:47 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn
- 25:50 to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth to the ground.
- 25:55 He did all this and prospered."
- 25:58 Joshua: Unlike our man Alexander the Great, who allowed the Jews
- 26:02 to worship Yahweh, he gave them that autonomy if they wanted to
- 26:05 do it.
- 26:06 Not the case with old Antichus.
- 26:08 In fact, this dude, the abomination of desolation that
- 26:12 he would create by going into the second temple, and
- 26:16 sacrificing a pig on the brazen altar, it's just horrible.
- 26:20 Caleb: That, you know, prophecy, I believe, is a dual prophecy.
- 26:24 Some people think it was a one and done experience.
- 26:26 Not so, because we see that Yeshua himself recalls the
- 26:32 Daniel prophecy in Matthew 24:15.
- 26:36 This was 300 years after Antichus Epiphanes committed
- 26:39 that first abomination, and Yeshua says, when you see that
- 26:43 prophetic moment spoken by Daniel, as in, it hasn't
- 26:47 happened yet, but this is dual prophecy.
- 26:50 That means it's gonna happen in the future with this future
- 26:52 Antichrist's future beast.
- 26:54 Let's listen to what Yeshua has to say in Matthew 24:15.
- 26:57 Caleb: Matthew 24:15.
- 26:59 "'Therefore when you see the "abomination of desolation,"
- 27:02 spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place,'
- 27:06 (whoever reads, let him understand.)"
- 27:09 Caleb: This is where it has all been leading, that rabbit trail
- 27:12 of Satan conquering all these nations just to get the promised
- 27:16 land, just to get his seat to commit that abomination of
- 27:20 desolation in the final third temple.
- 27:24 Not Yeshua's temple, the tribulation temple.
- 27:26 Joshua: You have to be careful with arithmetic, 'cause you
- 27:28 start adding the temples up wrong, then you might get on the
- 27:30 bandwagon for the wrong temple, and that's a bad thing,
- 27:32 especially with all the abominations running around.
