- 00:49 Joshua Colson: We began this series explaining how the last
- 00:51 days of Josiah’s life and the last days of the kingdom of
- 00:54 Judah parallel the last days that we’re in today.
- 00:57 The prophecy of Babylon returning back then, and the
- 01:00 prophecies today, being in Babylon the Great right around
- 01:04 the corner.
- 01:05 Everything in life is lining up.
- 01:07 The stage is set.
- 01:09 Caleb Colson: And guys, we wanna end this series on a warm fuzzy
- 01:12 note, but we can’t.
- 01:13 Joshua: For those of you who don’t know Caleb that well, he
- 01:15 hates happy endings.
- 01:17 So don’t expect a lot of funny from this episode.
- 01:19 It’s gonna be real sad and real somber.
- 01:22 Caleb: Because there’s a great mistake that Josiah made at the
- 01:25 end of his life that not only cost him his life, but brought
- 01:29 about the end of the kingdom of Judah.
- 01:31 And that’s why we came here to Megiddo, the place where it all
- 01:34 began, where his final battle was, and where the final battle
- 01:37 against Satan will occur someday as well.
- 01:47 Joshua: King Solomon built Megiddo as a royal chariot city.
- 01:50 Yes, in disobedience to God who told him not to collect a
- 01:53 cavalry or chariots.
- 01:56 Caleb: Well, obviously, this is completely out of left field and
- 01:59 not appropriate to the story, but Josh and I look pretty cool
- 02:03 in that chariot.
- 02:04 Am I right?
- 02:05 We can totally pull off the Judah Ben-Hur bit.
- 02:16 Joshua: Yet in the stables and the ruins over here, they could
- 02:19 house up to 150 horses.
- 02:21 Caleb: Twenty-six layers of civilization covered this Tel.
- 02:24 It’s not a mountain, it’s a man-made hill.
- 02:27 And you see all around us, there’s ruins of 17 temples.
- 02:31 There’s grain silos that was built by Jeroboam II.
- 02:34 There’s two palaces.
- 02:36 King Ahab even built a water cistern that could bring in
- 02:40 water in case of an enemy that would lay siege around them.
- 02:43 But the most important fact that it was a watch tower.
- 02:46 It stood as a vanguard for all the kings of Israel to look over
- 02:49 at the Via Maris, in case an enemy army was approaching.
- 02:53 Joshua: This is where our story begins.
- 02:56 In the 31st year of Josiah’s reign.
- 02:59 He’s 39 years old and at peace.
- 03:03 Joshua: 2 Chronicles 35:20, “After all this, when Josiah had
- 03:07 set the temple in order, Necho king of Egypt went up to fight
- 03:10 at Carchemish on the Euphrates, and Josiah marched out to meet
- 03:14 him in battle.”
- 03:20 Joshua: You know, Josiah gets word from his garrison here at
- 03:24 Megiddo that the entire armies of Egypt are headed this way,
- 03:29 and they behind them have Pharaoh Necho and all of Egypt.
- 03:35 What he doesn’t know is that Pharaoh Necho is heading to
- 03:39 Carchemish for one of the greatest battles that that city
- 03:43 in Syria had seen, and it takes place in 605 BC.
- 03:46 Caleb: That’s right.
- 03:48 Egypt had allied to try to save the Assyrian Empire.
- 03:50 And on the other side was Babylon, the Medes, the
- 03:53 Persians, and the Scythians that were contending with them.
- 03:55 A quick history lesson, guys.
- 03:57 Joshua: And by quick, he means put on your Thanksgiving pants
- 04:00 and get relaxed, because the only thing that he likes better
- 04:03 than sad endings is tragic historical endings.

- 04:20 Caleb: Back at the beginning of Josiah’s reformation, this was
- 04:24 about the time that Jeremiah first began to prophesy.
- 04:28 There’s trouble brewing in the Assyrian Empire.
- 04:31 You had Nabopolassar, who is Nebuchadnezzar’s father, and he
- 04:35 had made an alliance with Media, and the price for this alliance
- 04:39 would be his firstborn son, Nebuchadnezzar, would marry
- 04:42 Amytis, the sister of Cyaxares, the king of Media.
- 04:46 And with this alliance, they fought and threw off the yoke of
- 04:49 Assyria, and Nabopolassar made himself king over Babylon.
- 04:53 For 14 years, Babylon and Assyria, they would fight and
- 04:57 contend back and forth.
- 04:58 But God held the Babylonians at bay, and didn’t allow them to
- 05:04 come and conquer Judah, even though they even wiped
- 05:09 out Nineveh.
- 05:10 The Babylonians came and Nabopolassar and Nebuchadnezzar
- 05:11 wiped out Nineveh in 615 BC, just as the prophet Nahum had
- 05:17 predicted, God still held them off.
- 05:19 Joshua: Little did they know that doomsday was approaching.
- 05:22 As Caleb had said, Babylon and Assyria had been fighting, and
- 05:26 God held off the forces.
- 05:27 As long as Josiah was winning in these fights, he would hold it
- 05:31 off on Judah’s behalf.
- 05:33 But what Josiah didn’t know is that God had sent Necho.
- 05:37 He had sent them to be a blockade to stand against the
- 05:41 forces of Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar, and Josiah comes
- 05:44 in without asking God at all and tries to block Necho.
- 05:49 Joshua: 2 Chronicles 35:21, “But Necho sent messages to
- 05:53 him, Josiah, saying, ‘What quarrel is there, king of Judah,
- 05:57 between you and me?
- 05:59 It’s not you I’m attacking at this time, but the house for
- 06:03 which I am at war.
- 06:04 God has told me to hurry; so stop opposing God, who is with
- 06:07 me, or he will destroy you.'”
- 06:11 Joshua: I’m sure that Josiah is thinking, “How can God speak to
- 06:14 the profane, the unclean, the uncircumcised?”
- 06:16 But, you see, our amazing God has a history of doing
- 06:18 just that.
- 06:20 Josiah had been following the law down to the letter, and I
- 06:23 fear that maybe he had slipped into legalism.
- 06:25 We’ve seen churches today that come out of great sin, and they
- 06:28 grab onto the law and live legalistically instead of in
- 06:30 relationship.
- 06:32 And we’ve seen so many moves of God that have been squelched
- 06:34 because of that same behavior.
- 06:35 Caleb: That’s right.
- 06:37 So we know that Josiah could have consulted a prophet of the
- 06:39 Lord, like the prophet Jeremiah, who at this moment in history
- 06:43 was currently in a standoff with corrupt priests, false prophets
- 06:46 as well.
- 06:48 And even assassins were sent by his own parents trying to kill
- 06:52 him because he spoke the words of the Lord.
- 06:54 So, many rabbis believe, as King Josiah marched out to Megiddo,
- 06:59 that this was when Jeremiah was captured, and whipped 39 times,
- 07:02 and put in stocks in the temple.
- 07:05 Joshua: I’m so glad our parents never sent out assassins on you.
- 07:11 Caleb: 2 Chronicles 35:22: “Josiah, however, would
- 07:15 not turn away from him [Pharaoh Necho], but disguised himself to
- 07:19 engage him in battle.
- 07:21 He would not listen to what Necho had said at God’s command
- 07:25 but went to fight him on the plain of Megiddo.
- 07:31 Caleb: Guys, Josiah knew he was in the wrong, otherwise he
- 07:35 wouldn’t have disguised himself for battle.
- 07:38 Rabbis have thought about this fierce determination that Josiah
- 07:42 had against Pharaoh Necho, and they believe Leviticus 26:6,
- 07:45 which says, “The sword shall not go through your land,” was his
- 07:48 reasoning behind trying to block him.
- 07:51 I mean, he just cleared out the land of all those pagan temples.
- 07:54 He didn’t want any new ones, you know, like these ruins of the
- 07:57 pagan temples behind me.
- 07:59 And so he goes to try to stop the armies of Pharaoh Necho, and
- 08:04 his pride was what led to his downfall.
- 08:07 Now Scripture says, 2 Chronicles 35:23, “The archers shot King
- 08:12 Josiah, and he told his officers, ‘Take me away.
- 08:15 I am badly wounded.’
- 08:17 So they took him out of his chariot, put him in his other
- 08:20 chariot, and brought him to Jerusalem, where he died.”
- 08:25 Joshua: For such an honorable life, Josiah met such a
- 08:28 tragic end.
- 08:30 Thirty-nine years old.
- 08:31 Guys, I’m in my mid-40s.
- 08:34 I’ve made it longer than he ever did.
- 08:35 For all of the decisions that he made that were right, for all
- 08:38 the times when he found out something was sin, he
- 08:40 immediately put a stop to it.
- 08:42 He messed up one time at Megiddo and he faced his end.
- 08:46 Do you know how many times in my life I’ve sinned, I’ve messed
- 08:49 up, I knew better, and I kept doing things anyway?
- 08:51 And I have the Holy Spirit inside of me just like you do as
- 08:54 a believer.
- 08:55 And yet we still don’t listen to that still small voice every
- 08:57 time as we should.
- 08:59 Caleb: And so with Pharaoh Necho having been slowed down by
- 09:02 Josiah’s army, he finally makes it north to the battle of
- 09:06 Carchemish, and waiting for him is this coming
- 09:08 antichrist, Nebuchadnezzar.
- 09:10 And Nebuchadnezzar is no longer restrained by God because of
- 09:13 Josiah’s death, and he soundly defeats Egypt and their
- 09:18 ally, Assyria.
- 09:19 Assyria has wiped off the face of history.
- 09:21 And Nebuchadnezzar would come and conquer Judah.
- 09:24 But word comes to him that his father died in Babylon, King
- 09:28 Nabopolassar, so he rushes back to Babylon to try to fight with
- 09:32 his brothers to gain the crown.
- 09:34 Caleb: 2 Thessalonians 2:9, “The coming of the lawless one
- 09:38 is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs,
- 09:42 and lying wonders.”
- 09:48 Caleb: Guys, the verses before that passage explain that the
- 09:53 coming of a lawless one is only hindered by the Restrainer.
- 09:56 Now, we know that the Restrainer is the Holy Spirit, the Ruach
- 09:59 Hakodesh, but once he is removed from the earth during the
- 10:03 rapture, we assume, is when the beast will be revealed to
- 10:06 the world.
- 10:07 Joshua: We know that this is coming, but we have a short
- 10:10 period of time in which we can hold that coming back, the
- 10:15 tribulation, that final time of judgment.
- 10:17 Just as God held back Nebuchadnezzar for Josiah and
- 10:22 Judah, because Josiah repented and he cleansed the sin from the
- 10:27 land, God held it back.
- 10:30 And we can have this great revival, this final moment of
- 10:33 God’s outpouring before this tribulation.
- 10:36 If we’ll repent, if we’ll let the Holy Spirit within us rise
- 10:40 up, and we choose God, we can see him move again before this
- 10:46 land will be dripping with the blood of the sins of mankind.
- 10:51 Joshua: 1 Peter 4:17 through 18, “For the time has come
- 10:55 for judgment to begin at the house of God, and if it begins
- 10:59 with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the
- 11:02 gospel of God?
- 11:04 Now, ‘If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the
- 11:07 ungodly and the sinner appear?'”
- 11:11 Caleb: Judgment is coming. Correction first to his bride.
- 11:14 How can he judge the nations if we fall in the same sins as
- 11:17 the world?
- 11:19 But even before God can judge the nations, he has to judge his
- 11:23 own representatives first, Israel.
- 11:27 Guys, nobody wants to give this message.
- 11:30 Not the church.
- 11:31 The church wants to support Israel 100%, I understand that.
- 11:35 There’s been so much anti-Semitism over the years
- 11:37 that we don’t want to say bad things about Israel.
- 11:39 But you can’t condone anybody 100% of the time, especially
- 11:42 when they’ve fallen into sin.
- 11:44 And judgment is coming.
- 11:46 Babylon the Great is coming.
- 11:48 And we have this short moment of time to repent, or else we don’t
- 11:54 have that revival.
- 11:55 We don’t have that reformation.
- 11:56 I was struggling with God when he first gave us this message.
- 12:00 I was in mourning because I felt his burden come upon me.
- 12:02 It was heavy.
- 12:04 And he gave me his words.
- 12:05 I said, “God, I cannot give these words, because if I give
- 12:09 these words and judgment will come afterwards because they
- 12:11 heard the truth and they rejected your truth.”
- 12:14 And now is the time because we have that moment to repent.
- 12:17 Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me, when
- 12:23 you will search for me with all your heart.”
- 12:27 Joshua: Josiah appeared to have missed it in his final days.
- 12:31 Maybe he grew complacent.
- 12:33 Maybe he had spent his entire life in the time of an
- 12:36 eight-year-old old boy working, and striving, and fighting for
- 12:41 what was right that he got tired.
- 12:44 Maybe along the way of the fight, he became focused, and
- 12:49 legalistic, and it became mechanical for him.
- 12:53 All he could see was the law, and the rules, and the
- 12:56 daily steps.
- 12:59 But at the end of his life, through everything he had done,
- 13:02 he was judged by that final moment.
- 13:05 He was judged by that one decision that he decided to make
- 13:11 on his own, instead of consulting the Father, like
- 13:14 everything else.
- 13:15 As a nation, America has grown complacent.
- 13:21 But even more so, the body of Christ,
- 13:24 those of us who claim to be his children are the ones to blame
- 13:31 and yet we point the fingers at everybody else.
- 13:34 Every move of God in the history of mankind from the days that
- 13:38 God literally convened with Adam in the garden, we have done
- 13:41 something to try to control it.
- 13:44 Something to try to manage it, and to wrangle it into our
- 13:48 schedules, and our ideas, and the thoughts of how we think God
- 13:51 wanted it to be done.
- 13:53 And every time throughout history, those moves of God have
- 13:57 come to an end because his Spirit said I have to be in
- 14:01 control and yours can’t.
- 14:04 We have a final shot in history for the sake of the people of
- 14:10 Israel, for the sake of the body of Christ to judge ourselves
- 14:15 for once.
- 14:16 To stop pointing the finger at everybody else and say, “You’re
- 14:18 doing what’s wrong, and you’re what’s wrong, and you’re
- 14:20 the reason.”
- 14:22 The problem isn’t saying, “God, what is it I need to change?
- 14:27 Examine my heart and my life, and let me humble myself, and
- 14:32 let me be the first to repent.
- 14:34 Use me first.
- 14:35 Use me last.
- 14:37 Use me in every way that you want.”
- 14:40 If we hope to see more souls up there with him, and less in
- 14:48 eternal darkness, that is our call to action today.
- 14:52 That is what we fight for.
- 14:55 That we humble ourselves and pray, and we turn from our
- 14:57 wicked ways if we have any hope of experiencing his presence and
- 15:02 seeing that change.
- 15:03 Guys, I wanna pray for us right now.
- 15:05 Dear Heavenly Father, I just pray for everyone in the sound
- 15:09 of my voice, everyone that’s ever met you, that’s ever known
- 15:12 you, anyone who’s been resisting your voice.
- 15:14 Lord God, your people, the Jewish people, who you have
- 15:17 fought to save, generation after generation, let them hear your
- 15:22 voice and know that you are Father, let them know Yeshua is
- 15:25 the Messiah.
- 15:27 Dear Father, for the Christian Gentiles, Lord God,
- 15:29 who have accepted your name, but they have grown cold.
- 15:32 We have grown complacent.
- 15:34 We have grown controlling and manipulative of your Word.
- 15:37 Lord God, we repent humbly.
- 15:40 If we say use us again, let our final moment stand with our
- 15:44 face in the sun, staring in the face of our Father, hearing,
- 15:49 “Well done, my good and faithful servant,” and not
- 15:53 looking in the mirror at ourselves, proud of what we’ve
- 15:56 accomplished and who we’ve become.
- 15:57 Lord, may your anointing, Lord God, your Holy Spirit, the Ruach
- 16:03 Hakodesh, flow through every person within the sound of
- 16:06 my voice.
- 16:07 Lord God, purge us clean by your fires.
- 16:10 Let your voice be the most prominent we hear, and the only
- 16:13 we follow, and Lord God use us again, we pray.
- 16:18 Use us to save every soul in the name of Yeshua, we pray.
- 16:23 Amen.
- 16:33 Joshua: [speaking in Hebrew]
- 16:42 Caleb: Hear, oh Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one, and
- 16:47 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with
- 16:51 all your soul, and with all your strength.
- 16:58 Caleb: Anyone familiar with Messianic Jewish ministries have
- 17:01 heard of Rabbi Jonathan Cahn.
- 17:04 He is a famous author, writer, speaker of “The Harbinger,” and
- 17:09 he even recently wrote a book called “The Josiah Manifesto” at
- 17:11 the same time that we were giving this message about Josiah
- 17:14 and the last reformation.
- 17:16 Joshua: I love when you see people giving the same message
- 17:17 that you’re giving because it means we listen to God.
- 17:20 You gotta check out what he has to say.
- 17:22 His insight is incredible and very detailed.
- 17:24 Let’s go to him now.
- 17:27 Jonathan Cahn: What if there was a mystery, a template for this
- 17:31 hour that lies behind really everything that’s happening in
- 17:35 our culture, in our world.
- 17:37 Actually, the Lord could have given us this template for
- 17:40 a reason, that there’s actually an answer.
- 17:43 There’s actually a way to overcome it now and in the days
- 17:48 to come.
- 17:50 That’s what I think, why I think the Lord gave all of
- 17:51 us this thing at the same time.
- 17:53 Joshua: So what do you feel led you to write this for this
- 17:56 moment right now?
- 17:57 What was so important about now?
- 17:58 Jonathan: Well, I had just finished writing “The Return of
- 18:01 the Gods” just before this, and that is kind of revealing what’s
- 18:05 happening, you know, and the spirits and the–what’s really
- 18:10 taken over our culture and what we’re all dealing with.
- 18:13 But, you know, as soon as I finished it, it was like, “Lord,
- 18:15 is that okay?
- 18:16 Now you have to give an answer.”
- 18:17 You know, given that, now, the answer.
- 18:19 And actually, it was the day that I finished writing the last
- 18:25 words of “The Return of the Gods” that something happened in
- 18:28 America that’s actually linked to this mystery.
- 18:31 You see, you know, what is the most colossal bad altar that we
- 18:37 have in America?
- 18:39 It was the altar of Roe versus Wade, in which we offered up
- 18:41 sixty million children, which really links to Josiah in so
- 18:45 many ways.
- 18:46 And on the day that I finished “The Return of the Gods,” and I
- 18:49 spoke about the altars, that was the day that that altar
- 18:52 was broken.
- 18:54 And that day began “The Josiah Manifesto.”
- 18:58 So the Lord saying, like, there’s an answer.
- 19:00 When I thought about it, I didn’t plan this, but when I
- 19:02 thought about it, you know, Josiah really was an answer to
- 19:06 the gods of the idols of his time.
- 19:08 He was there.
- 19:09 And so, if you look at the cover of “The Josiah Manifesto,”
- 19:13 you’ll see a broke–this is a broken altar, which was the day
- 19:17 that birthed it, as well.
- 19:18 Now remember, you know, I mean, again, I’m preaching to the
- 19:21 choir, but Josiah, you know, God was about to judge that nation,
- 19:26 and the raising up of one man, the actions of one man,
- 19:30 literally changed the course of that generation and forestalled
- 19:34 the judgment until Josiah was gone.
- 19:37 I mean, and that’s a big– that’s one man being right.
- 19:40 One man turning to God and then doing everything he could to
- 19:43 turn his nation.
- 19:44 The only thing that can save America’s revival–I don’t, you
- 19:47 know, it’s not polit–you know, we have to touch the
- 19:50 political realm.
- 19:52 We have to–we should vote, we should affect the world every
- 19:53 way we can, but in the end, you know, politics can’t save us.
- 19:58 It can help open a door, just like having a righteous king can
- 20:01 help open a door, but without revival, it doesn’t matter.
- 20:04 You know, without turning back to God, without repentance–God
- 20:07 said, “If my people,” and he said, “If they repent, if
- 20:10 they turn.”
- 20:11 So that is the only hope we have, if there is no revival,
- 20:15 then America as we know it is gone.
- 20:18 One of the things the Lord has led me from the beginning, you
- 20:20 know, like when I first wrote “The Harbinger,” that was my
- 20:22 first book, is this parallel between the last days of Israel
- 20:28 and America right now, and that didn’t have a good ending.
- 20:31 And, you know, the thing is that, and if you ask me now, “Do
- 20:34 I see the signs of revival?”
- 20:36 I mean, there are revivals, you know, God bless them.
- 20:40 But as a whole, America has not been turning, I mean, has not
- 20:44 turned back to God, and has not yet done that, and it’s still
- 20:48 falling away.
- 20:49 And even when we’ve had a conservative administration,
- 20:52 that didn’t stop the moral decay or the f–or the indoctrination
- 20:57 of our children, which is the future, away from God.
- 21:01 You know, God is merciful.
- 21:02 We have not seen the destruction at this point, but we need
- 21:06 revival or there will be calamity.
- 21:10 When Roe versus Wade was overturned–and of course, we
- 21:14 know that’s not the end of the issue by a long shot, but it was
- 21:17 the hand of God.
- 21:18 It was gigantic, it was gigantic.
- 21:20 And the thing is that it’s a biblical sign.
- 21:23 It’s the sign of the broken altar.
- 21:25 That’s throughout the Bible.
- 21:26 And it’s not just the sign of the broken altar.
- 21:28 It’s the sign of Josiah, because Josiah’s whole life was linked
- 21:32 to the broken altar.
- 21:34 His very life was prophesied over a broken altar, you know,
- 21:38 hundreds of years before.
- 21:40 And then he, of all kings, was the one who broke the altars.
- 21:43 You know, in ancient times, the sign of revival was not a gospel
- 21:47 crusade tent meeting, which is great, but it was the breaking
- 21:51 of the al–they went up and they broke the altars where they
- 21:53 offered their children, they broke the altars of the gods
- 21:56 they were repenting.
- 21:57 And so it was a sign of revival.
- 21:59 So the Josiah moment is when a nation is on the verge of
- 22:03 judgment on one hand or revival on the other, and it’s one or
- 22:08 the other.
- 22:10 And the thing is that–and then you see that with Josiah, but
- 22:12 it’s–I believe this is a message from God that America is
- 22:15 standing in between those two things, judgment or revival.
- 22:18 If it doesn’t have–without revival, it’s judgment.
- 22:21 And the only thing that can push judgment off is revival, as
- 22:24 in Josiah.
- 22:26 And that really tells us that Josiah–it’s like God is giving
- 22:28 us the the example of Josiah to say this is what’s called for
- 22:32 right now.
- 22:34 This is the Josiah moment.
- 22:35 We have to be Josiahs, you know, for our generation, and how he

- 22:41 You know, he was born for his generation, and his generation
- 22:45 was made for him.
- 22:46 They needed him.
- 22:47 And so in the same way, we are born for our generation.
- 22:51 We’re not, you know, we’re not supposed to despair, and run,

- 22:59 We have a job to do.
- 23:00 You know, we don’t–we can’t despair because we have a job

- 23:04 So just like Josiah, just do what you know is God–repent,
