• 00:05 I've got to be honest, I'm a little sad.
• 00:08 This is the last program in our new series "Close Encounters with Yeshua".
• 00:12 But today is the most powerful encounter I have ever heard.
• 00:18 That's right.
• 00:19 You cannot miss today's program.
• 00:21 Please stay with us.
• 00:31 It was not long ago our first encounter
• 00:33 on the waters of the Galilee.
• 00:35 My hand is completely restored.
• 00:38 He said, Your faith has saved you.
• 00:41 I've heard Yeshua speak in our synagogue.
• 00:44 He talked about the Kingdom of God.
• 00:47 Then He showed us His wounds in His hands and His feet.
• 00:50 I believe He really is a King.
• 01:04 Shalom Havarim, welcome friends to our program.
• 01:06 I'm Myles Weiss.
• 01:07 And I'm Katharine Weiss.
• 01:09 And we have a very special program today.
• 01:11 It is "Close Encounters with Yeshua"
• 01:13 and we're talking about modern day miracles.
• 01:16 The Bible talks about being the same yesterday today and forever.
• 01:21 Just as he was able to remove our sins he's able to give us his healing.
• 01:26 Yeah, it's a controversial issue today about healing.
• 01:29 But we're looking towards the "Healer" primarily.
• 01:32 And this is a special, dear to our hearts, program
• 01:35 because of our dear friends Gary and Cindy Bayer in Israel.
• 01:38 These are lovers of Israel.
• 01:39 They reside there.
• 01:41 They have been there for many years.
• 01:42 And they actually bring people to Israel
• 01:45 to help them connect their creativity to the Land.
• 01:48 They have a "Writer's Gathering Jerusalem"
• 01:50 program where they actually bring in and
• 01:53 help writers and creative types
• 01:55 to interact with Israel so that
• 01:57 it influences the creative work that they're doing
• 01:59 whether it's novels or poetry or movie making, script writing.
• 02:03 And it's just an incredible creative atmosphere that's around them.
• 02:06 Well part of that story includes the fact that Gary got ill.
• 02:12 And what happened to him in this time
• 02:15 was so miraculous to see the growth of faith in
• 02:18 him and Cindy and the community around them,
• 02:21 how it touched our lives.
• 02:22 We know he's a dear friend of our producer Ken Berg.
• 02:25 Ken prays for him every day.
• 02:26 And we were able to stand with them during this really difficult time.
• 02:29 Right
• 02:30 It was really momentous to be with him.
• 02:32 Right, you know one of my favorite Scriptures
• 02:34 is Psalm 103,
• 02:43 So we're to press in for what God has for us.
• 02:47 Sadly to say, not always have I seen my
• 02:50 friends touched or healed like I'd like
• 02:52 but we still are called to ask, seek and knock.
• 02:55 And it's God's sovereignty that will open or close that door.
• 03:00 And I'm so grateful that he has opened that door of healing for Gary.
• 03:03 There's been a sustaining that goes beyond natural remission.
• 03:06 There's something supernatural that took place,
• 03:09 that is taking place in Gary's life.
• 03:11 And we know that eventually we all die
• 03:13 whether we go by rapture, we go by natural death,
• 03:16 we go from disease or accident.
• 03:17 We all have a short time here on this earth.
• 03:20 But it's something to see an interaction
• 03:22 between someone who you love and the God that they love.
• 03:25 And boy, did we see that with
• 03:26 Gary and Cindy the way pressed in, in prayer.
• 03:29 They pressed in to receive healing for this illness.
• 03:34 And it was very convicting on a certain level
• 03:37 because we hadn't seen such faith like that
• 03:39 since we traveled in the nations,
• 03:40 since we were in Africa and India and Russia and around the world.
• 03:43 And it was just a wonderful time to be with them and
• 03:46 to hear their story.
• 03:48 So we wanted to bring part of that story to you today because
• 03:50 we want you to be encouraged in your faith.
• 03:52 We want you to be encouraged in the things that you're reaching for.
• 03:55 So let's go to the beginning of my interview with Gary Bayer.
• 04:02 Gary, thank you for being with us today.
• 04:04 I would love you to tell our viewers
• 04:05 a little bit about the journey you've been on.
• 04:07 I know it's been a difficult season.
• 04:08 Many people have been praying for you,
• 04:10 including Katharine and myself.
• 04:12 Give us a little idea of the diagnosis and
• 04:14 the season that you've been in.
• 04:16 First, thanks for praying for me.
• 04:19 We underestimate the value of the prayers of the saints.
• 04:23 They really lift you.
• 04:25 Especially in dark times you feel that.
• 04:28 Two and a half years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
• 04:32 And by the time that they found it, it created a tumor outside the prostate
• 04:37 and so for 3 months they said, "You were not a candidate for surgery."
• 04:43 "You were too far along."
• 04:44 So for 3 months they radiated me.
• 04:47 They fried me up all through the middle.
• 04:50 And actually, at the end of those 3 months things looked pretty good
• 04:54 although some of the lymph nodes had been fried out.
• 04:57 But within a couple of months it re-flared.
• 04:59 And it had re-flared into my lymphatic system and started going everywhere.
• 05:02 They found it up here.
• 05:04 And thus began a season of chemo-therapy ,
• 05:08 of serious chemo-therapy which quite frankly I didn't want to do.
• 05:13 I even told my wife, I said, "I just can't. It's like poison going in me."
• 05:20 And so we really were praying about it.
• 05:22 And I told my doctor, I said, "You know we believe in a God of miracles."
• 05:26 My doctor is a wonderful Aussie, Jewish, Israeli, Secular doctor.
• 05:33 And he was watching our journey.
• 05:35 And I said, "You know, we believe in a God of miracles."
• 05:38 "We'll get back to you about this."
• 05:40 By day 3 I really felt the LORD say, "I want you to take this step."
• 05:45 Which sort of surprised me cause I said,
• 05:46 "But you know this like dumping poison in me?"
• 05:49 And He said, "Will you let me choose how I want to heal you?"
• 05:54 WOW
• 05:54 And I thought "Well I liked that."
• 05:56 "At least I heard 'heal' in that sentence."
• 05:59 But I'm a visual guy and I told the LORD,
• 06:01 I said, "I need some visual image."
• 06:03 And He said, "I'll give you an image."
• 06:05 He said, "When you go into."
• 06:07 what we affectionately called the "chemo lounge"
• 06:09 because there are lots of lazy boy chairs.
• 06:11 About 40 people in there getting their drips.
• 06:14 And He said, "When they hook you up to that drip line,"
• 06:16 "that's My Blood coming through that line to you."
• 06:20 WOW.
• 06:21 And that just so flipped our way
• 06:22 of looking at it upside down.
• 06:25 And it actually made the chemo day the best day of the week.
• 06:30 I mean when people said, "Well how's it going?"
• 06:32 I said, "Well it's actually the joy day.
• 06:33 I know that sounds really strange
• 06:35 but we watched God just do amazing things during that time.
• 06:39 So what you first thought of as poison
• 06:41 became an avenue for life,
• 06:42 a resurrection life.
• 06:44 It really did, it really did.
• 06:47 And then there's this story you've told me
• 06:50 about a visitation.
• 06:52 Yeah.
• 06:53 And I approach this with sacred caution.
• 06:55 But I would like you to tell our viewers
• 06:57 what happened to you in the CT scan.
• 07:00 Well.ummm there came a time,
• 07:05 a point in this journey about now 4 months ago
• 07:09 And the cancer had metastasized.
• 07:13 It had jumped to my liver.
• 07:16 And I was in a lot of pain.
• 07:18 I started breathing with difficulty and a little disoriented.
• 07:23 My wife got me into the emergency room here
• 07:26 in Jerusalem at Shaare Zedek Hospital .
• 07:28 My wonderful doctor met me there.
• 07:31 And within a very short time they took pictures
• 07:35 and the next morning he came to my bedside
• 07:39 and he grabbed a hold of my hand and my wife's hand.
• 07:41 And he leaned in close and he said,
• 07:44 "You better gather your children."
• 07:48 And that kinda rocks you.
• 07:51 And he said, "The CG scan shows that 3/4ths of your liver,"
• 07:57 "75% is just riddled with cancer."
• 08:00 "One of the tumors is about the size of a golf ball."
• 08:03 "It's now shut your right kidney down."
• 08:06 "And your whole middle is full of black spots, full of cancer spots."
• 08:11 And he said, "We're gonna sort of do major chemo on you."
• 08:16 "Just full blast."
• 08:18 "And we'll do it for 3 days in a row,"
• 08:19 "then take 3 weeks off; another 3 days in a row,"
• 08:22 "another 3 weeks off, another 3 days in a row."
• 08:24 So he was blasting me as hard as he could.
• 08:27 And he was giving me his very best.
• 08:30 It was a surprise when he grabbed my hand and my wife's hand
• 08:35 and he leaned in real close and he said,
• 08:37 "Would you pray for us?"
• 08:39 And I'm thinking, "What a privilege to pray for my doctor!"
• 08:44 But the battle began
• 08:45 and it was a rough,
• 08:47 really a rough 3 months,
• 08:48 up and down and up and down.
• 08:50 And at the end of those 3 months
• 08:52 he said, "We'll give you 2 weeks of rest"
• 08:54 "and then we're going to do pictures again."
• 08:56 "Another CT-PET Scan this time."
• 08:58 Which is like a deep tissue scan
• 09:00 that they can see very clearly within you.
• 09:02 And so the day arrived for the scan.
• 09:05 And it was hitting 100 degrees in Jerusalem.
• 09:08 And I had a windbreaker on and we were sitting
• 09:11 in the waiting room getting ready to have the scan.
• 09:15 And I was so cold that my wife was like
• 09:19 wrapping herself around me to keep me warm.
• 09:22 And a little Russian Tech guy came out and he said,
• 09:25 "You know we're gonna put you in the isolation room"
• 09:29 "and you drink a little liquid and then we take pictures."
• 09:34 I said, "Okay."
• 09:35 And my wife said, "You know he's really cold. Can he have a blanket?"
• 09:38 The guy gets me a blanket, wraps me up
• 09:40 and in a little bit he says, "Okay go into the room."
• 09:42 And I kind of moved along like a little Indian tent moving into the room.
• 09:49 I sat in there.
• 09:50 They bring me this big jug of liquid.
• 09:52 It's a clear liquid.
• 09:53 And he says, "You drink every 10 minutes full glass."
• 09:57 So I'm sitting there and thankfully I had my phone and my wife had her phone.
• 10:02 And she's just been a wonderful champion to me in this journey,
• 10:05 along with the prayers of the saints.
• 10:07 And she started texting me saying,
• 10:09 "Remember all the words that the LORD"
• 10:10 "has given you that He's your Healer."
• 10:12 And she happened to be sitting in front of a picture.
• 10:16 The 23rd Psalm had become very special to us.
• 10:20 You know, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death"
• 10:23 "I will be with you."
• 10:25 And so she texted me all of a sudden a picture.
• 10:29 and it was right in front of her.
• 10:31 It was the 23rd of August that we were having this done.
• 10:38 And she said, "Look at this picture."
• 10:40 And it was right in front.
• 10:41 It was like a picture of the 23rd Psalm.
• 10:43 She said it was beautiful.
• 10:44 You know, green valleys, streams.
• 10:46 She said, "Remember. remember what the Lord has told you."
• 10:51 We're beginning to build the story here with Gary.
• 10:54 And his connection with his wife in this is so precious and profound.
• 10:58 I think about as you're watching this, try to
• 11:01 remember that these are very grounded people.
• 11:04 These are very practical, earthy, down to the point kind of people.
• 11:07 They're not wild or speculative about
• 11:11 Christianity, about their faith at all.
• 11:13 And so it becomes more profound as you see this connection,
• 11:16 this spiritual connection between them.
• 11:19 I love Gary's fight for his life.
• 11:23 And you hear God's heart reaching out to his wife Cindy
• 11:27 and her texting to remind him about Psalm 23.
• 11:32 Though we walk through the valley
• 11:33 of the shadow of death
• 11:35 we will fear no evil
• 11:36 because the Lord is with us.
• 11:38 No matter what we're facing he wants to be
• 11:40 with us, he wants to bring that provision.
• 11:42 It says that "healing is the children's bread."
• 11:46 So he wants to sustain us,
• 11:48 he wants to give us hope and faith
• 11:51 to see that which we can't see in the natural realm.
• 11:54 That's good.
• 11:55 And so we want this show to be an encouragement
• 11:57 for all of us to reach for more of God.
• 11:59 And you're going to see as we go on
• 12:01 how what comes in to view for Gary
• 12:03 is not only the healing he's reaching for but The Healer.

• 14:07 And what we're seeing in this story
• 14:09 is not just the reach for the healing
• 14:12 but the encounter that's growing where
• 14:14 Gary's faith for his own healing is part of it,
• 14:18 but his awareness of the presence of God is going to grow and grow.
• 14:24 So let's continue with our interview with Gary Bayer.
• 14:30 And so I started trying
• 14:31 to encourage myself,
• 14:32 encourage my spirit.
• 14:33 And then some Canadian friends that had been
• 14:35 praying for us since I first got the diagnosis,
• 14:37 found out that I was in isolation.
• 14:39 They were in Jerusalem,
• 14:40 they're texting me:
• 14:42 "Remember Jehoshaphat, and the mighty armies coming against them."
• 14:45 "And Jehoshaphat was told by the Lord,"
• 14:47 "This is not your battle, it's Mine."
• 14:49 "You just stand."
• 14:51 I was so weak I thought,
• 14:52 "Well I don't know if I can stand up"
• 14:53 "but I can sit!"
• 14:55 And so I was sitting there and then they texted and said,
• 14:58 "I just see the Host of Heaven around you."
• 15:00 So I'm looking around and then I hear over the intercom
• 15:03 the little Russian Tech guy, "You drink the juice."
• 15:05 I say, "I'm drinking the juice."
• 15:09 And then they texted me again, they said,
• 15:12 "I just see the Lord standing right to your right."
• 15:14 I look up and nothing but a gray wall, a gray ceiling and.
• 15:19 But I started thinking, "You know, You said You'd never leave me,"
• 15:22 "You'll never forsake me, so I know You're here."
• 15:25 And I said, "Do you have a Word for me?"
• 15:27 And I felt hearing the Lord say,
• 15:29 "Yes, you hold on to Me, don't hold on to medicine."
• 15:33 And when I heard that, the way I interpreted that in my mind
• 15:36 because this was a moment of truth.
• 15:39 These pictures were medically speaking,
• 15:41 these pictures were gonna show me whether I'm better or I'm not.
• 15:46 And when the Lord said, "You hold on to Me and not medicine."
• 15:48 The way I interpreted it was,
• 15:50 "Be prepared, what you're going to see is not good"
• 15:54 "but you hold on to Me."
• 15:55 And so then that little Tech guy says,
• 15:58 "You go to the toilet."
• 15:59 So I get up and go to the toilet.
• 16:01 I come back, I drink some more.
• 16:03 And then he says, "Go to the door."
• 16:05 So I make my way to the door in my little blanket,
• 16:08 the door opens and there's this big room
• 16:12 where they have the scanner in there.
• 16:13 And it's cold.
• 16:15 I mean you could cure meat in there.
• 16:18 And the tech guy says, "Take your clothes off."
• 16:22 I thought, "Geez, I'm freezing already."
• 16:25 So I stripped down.
• 16:26 He puts me on this little bed-like,
• 16:29 and the scanner's a big round.
• 16:31 It looks like a doughnut, big round thing with a hole,
• 16:34 and the bed moves in and out of the doughnut.
• 16:37 And he said, "Don't move. Put your arms up here"
• 16:41 "and I'll put stuff on your arm and make you warm."
• 16:43 And I thought,"Well, that'll be good I could use a little warmth."
• 16:47 And then he says, "You'll be in here 18 minutes."
• 16:50 I said, "Okay."
• 16:52 And he starts to leave the room and he says,
• 16:53 "Would you like the blanket?"
• 16:55 I said, "That'd be a real good idea."
• 16:57 So he puts the blanket over me and he says,
• 16:59 "Good Luck!" and he leaves the room.
• 17:02 Door closes and the big doughnut starts to spin around.
• 17:07 It starts spinning and I feel the bed start to move
• 17:10 and I'm thinking, "Okay Lord, I'm in Your hands."
• 17:16 "My times are in Your hands."
• 17:19 And You said, "Hold on to Me."
• 17:21 So into the doughnut I went
• 17:23 and out of the doughnut I came,
• 17:27 went back into the hole again and suddenly.
• 17:30 [Gary holds back tears]
• 17:34 To my right I see an Angel.
• 17:39 I've never seen an Angel before.
• 17:42 And I'm thinking.
• 17:44 I'm looking and I'm thinking.
• 17:47 You know, I've been on drugs for 2 years and
• 17:49 maybe I'm just hallucinating, you know?
• 17:52 But it doesn't go away.
• 17:54 And it's like this brilliant, brilliant white.
• 17:58 And I couldn't see the face very clearly
• 18:01 but just glowing white.
• 18:03 And then I sensed all of a sudden another Angel on my left.
• 18:11 I couldn't really see this one.
• 18:13 This one I could clearly see.
• 18:16 And I don't know if you've been a Boy Scout or something like that
• 18:19 and you learn what they call "a fireman's carry"
• 18:21 where they lock their arms underneath the victim
• 18:23 and they pick the victim up.
• 18:25 I felt they slid their arms under me and just kinda picked me up.
• 18:32 And then this one leaned over me
• 18:34 and he started blowing over my middle like
• 18:37 [Gary demonstrates].
• 18:39 And it's like you could see their breath almost, just moving over me.
• 18:44 And then, in their breath I started to see what looked like flakes,
• 18:50 was like snowflakes only they were gold.
• 18:53 These flakes were just like pure gold flakes
• 18:57 just starting to fly around over me.
• 18:59 And then they lifted me and they moved me forward
• 19:04 like I'm now looking at me as they're holding me.
• 19:09 And I could see these flakes just flurrying around me and
• 19:12 over me and through me
• 19:14 and then I remembered that picture.
• 19:16 Because I kept thinking,
• 19:17 "What are these golden flakes for?"
• 19:18 And at the same time I keep blinking
• 19:20 thinking, "Am I just wanting to see this?
• 19:22 Is it going to go away?
• 19:24 But it doesn't go away.
• 19:27 And I remembered the picture from before, like 9 weeks before
• 19:33 where I saw all of these like black spots in me.
• 19:36 And I thought, "Maybe these gold flakes are like hitting these spots"
• 19:40 "and like, you know, taking them out."
• 19:42 And so I tried to super-impose that picture over what I was seeing.
• 19:47 And I could see those gold flakes flying in,
• 19:49 around and through me by these black spots.
• 19:52 And then suddenly I looked up
• 19:56 and there..in vivid color. vivid color.
• 20:04 is the Lord.
• 20:06 And He's like a.
• 20:09 like there's a white mist around Him
• 20:11 and He's sitting but He's leaning towards me
• 20:15 and He exudes power and strength.
• 20:19 His hair is like dark
• 20:20 and His face is strong and like sunburn all almost.
• 20:24 And He's got a blue like robe on,
• 20:27 deep blue, trimmed in crimson.
• 20:29 And everything exudes strength and power.
• 20:33 And He leans toward me and He stretches out His arm.
• 20:36 And His arm is dark and strong.
• 20:39 His hand is strong.
• 20:41 His hand is like so strong
• 20:44 and just reaching straight toward my middle.
• 20:47 And I looked down to where He is pointing
• 20:50 and I couldn't see anything
• 20:51 accept like gold and light.
• 20:54 All I could see was gold and light.
• 20:57 And then, I looked up at the Lord...
• 21:00 and He's gone.
• 21:02 Just everything's gone.
• 21:05 No Angels, no Lord.
• 21:08 And the doughnut just starts slowing down
• 21:12 and I hear the little Russian tech guy go,
• 21:14 "It's finished, you finished."
• 21:18 And he pulls me out of the hole of this scanner and he says, "Get dressed."
• 21:27 I got dressed.
• 21:30 He unhooked me, I went out and I sat with my wife
• 21:34 and I said, "I think I've seen a vision."
• 21:39 "I think I've seen the Lord."
• 21:44 But it was so far out of my box, you know?
• 21:48 I've never seen anything like that.
• 21:52 So, uhh.
• 21:54 [Gary stops to cry]
• 22:01 Uhh, we went up to the doctor's office
• 22:04 and I couldn't share this with the doctor.
• 22:08 But I kept thinking.
• 22:09 And it seemed like it took the doctor forever to read my pictures
• 22:12 cause it goes up into the computer and he's looking.
• 22:15 And the little secretary said,
• 22:16 "He's studying your pictures."
• 22:18 And then I started remembering what the Lord said about,
• 22:22 "You hang on to me."
• 22:24 "Don't hang on to medicine."
• 22:28 And eventually the doctor came out
• 22:30 and he said, "Come in to my office."
• 22:33 We sit down.
• 22:34 He just got back from vacation.
• 22:35 He's sort a chatting and I'm thinking,
• 22:37 "Just tell me...Tell me what you see."
• 22:39 Cause I was preparing myself thinking you know,
• 22:41 "What am I going to tell my kids?
• 22:43 How am I gonna.?
• 22:45 And suddenly he leaned forward and he said,
• 22:47 "You know, I've been studying your pictures."
• 22:49 He said, "You know where you were 3 months ago?"
• 22:51 You were on the edge!"
• 22:53 I said, "Yeah, I know."
• 22:55 And he said, "75% of your liver was not working."
• 22:59 And he said, "Today..."
• 23:01 75% of your liver is working!"
• 23:06 "This is a dramatic improvement!"
• 23:09 He just kept saying "dramatic improvement".
• 23:14 And then he showed me on the screen, he says,
• 23:17 "You know the lump you had here?"
• 23:20 "It's shrunk by half."
• 23:22 "All of the cancer in your middle behind your belly has shrunk dramatically!"
• 23:27 [Gary pauses]
• 23:31 That's the encounter.
• 23:33 And here you are.
• 23:34 I don't think I've ever meant
• 23:36 it more deeply to say,
• 23:37 thank you for being with us.
• 23:39 It is very welcome.
• 23:41 Thanks for letting me share my story.
• 23:44 Thank you for letting me share a glimpse.
• 23:50 He's real.
• 23:52 He is sooooo real.
• 23:57 Thanks Myles, thank you.
• 23:59 Thank you.
• 24:03 Honestly, that was the most amazing
• 24:06 encounter with Yeshua I have ever heard in my life.
• 24:11 What Gary shared changed our lives.
• 24:14 And our view of what's to come.
