August 01, 1983 Personal Letter

Dear friends,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

At the time of this writing I’ve only seen a few days of response to my last letter in which I asked you to increase your giving. But I can already tell that you’re going to be there when we need you the most, as always. By looking at the volume of our mail it appears that we can take a deep breath and push ahead with the production of the new fall programs. Thank you again.

I do sincerely appreciate the uncomplicated relationship of trust between this ministry’s workers and you, its owners. When we didn’t need the money, I told you so and when we do need it, I only have to tell you that.

We happen to be in a time of difficult spiritual battles and you make our labors so very much more pleasant. I can’t wait to see your reactions to the new programs!

In the next newsletter we’ll run some more pictures of our location filming and they will feature the singing duo LAMB. Rather than using their music as mere background, we took them along, put them in Biblical robes and filmed them on the spot. The effect is overwhelming. What used to be mere background music now becomes a vivid spiritual experience. There are times when God is to be thanked for providing us with television!

We do all these things to simply teach the Bible. The visual aspect of television and the almost undescribable beauty of the Holy Land combine wonderfully to make Scripture come alive for all of us. And these are times for Bible study, I don’t have to tell you. Perhaps there was never a more important time in history for very serious Bible study. For want of vital Biblical information this world is simply falling apart.

It lightens our load considerably to know that we are exposing people to the Word of God. When the days get long, when we are criticized, when funds get short, it is a good thing to know that together we are providing this ailing world with medicine. And with the Great Physician!

If we somehow fail in our efforts in the future, we’ll still know that over 100 television programs of solid Bible teaching fill the very air of this nation and vast quantities of seeds were sown. It is a good feeling to know that we have many fruits now and we can count on more down the line until the very day we are rescued by the King.

Thank you still again for the blessings you have bestowed upon us. Our prayer is that we will return them in good measure.

In His love,
