March 01, 1983 Personal Letter

My dear friends,

These are very joyful days at Zola Levitt Ministries because we are preparing new programs. I can’t tell you how good it feels to be able to even have a meeting about these new undertakings.

And you are to be thanked for all these blessings, and I mean that very sincerely. After our lunch, made. possible by the microwave oven you donated, we sat down at the conference table you donated, with cold drinks from the refrigerator you donated, and we got down to work. I don’t suppose that in all the history of the Church, any of the Lord’s workers have been sent forth better equipped than we are!

What we have in mind are the spring shows I described in an earlier letter. We are going to undertake to explain the “whole Bible” by means, of a series of seven programs on seven key doctrines of Scripture. The seven subjects will take us from Genesis to Revelation and we’ll explain the outworkings of God’s plans virtually from creation to eternity. The idea is to fill In those parts of the Bible which may not come up that often in the average Christian teaching and get have crucial bearing on our spiritual thinking in this age. Each program will have a set of notes carefully made from what is said on television with the appropriate Scriptures involved. Instead of your sending in to the show for a general book on the subject you’ll actually have a copy of the notes I myself use when I prepare these Bible studies and so you will be equipped to share them with friends and to thoroughly understand them yourselves. I’ll explain more as we go along through the actual broadcast of the programs. The subjects covered will be the Abrahamic Covenant, The Law, Prophecy, The Messiah, Grace, The Church, and The Kingdom. God willing, we will do justice to these vital seven structural pillars of the Bible in the seven programs. And by publishing the notes we will help make these doctrines understandable to the million or so viewers we speak to each week on ZOLA LEVITT LIVE.

The production of these new programs has been made possible by the contributions of those who wished to dedicate the programs. As I explained in a previous letter, we are providing the opportunity for you to remember a friend by dedicating a program to him, and there has been a good response. The production costs of these new offerings are already paid for—well, actually six have been provided for—by those who memorialized brothers and sisters gone on to the Lord ahead of us or some special person still with us. We continue to be open to these kinds of gifts and we will acknowledge them on the programs as living testimonies for those to whom they are dedicated. We very deeply appreciate these large gifts from those who are equipped to give them. The cost is $1,500 to dedicate a studio program made here in Dallas and the outreach of a single program with all of its broadcasts and reruns is now upwards of 5,000,000 viewers—believing and unbelieving.

On the idea of unbelieving viewers of ZLL I am constantly surprised at the sheer volume of them. We get letters all the time from folks who do not know the Lord but are interested in the content of the show. I am often referred to as a “TV evangelist”, which these days can sometimes be an unkind identification. But we don’t really evangelize on the program. We teach the Word of God in all of its beautiful logic and we realize that it never returns void. We think that the unbelieving viewers who take in what we have to say tend to move toward the Lord in a very natural and very sincere way and we have the letters to prove it. The witness is there and is effective in a format of simply telling what God has said and done and we are delighted with the results. Thank you again.

Enclosed with this letter is the itinerary and prices for our June 4–18 Bible journey. We realize not everyone can go but we thought you might like to see what we can offer. If you’re not available at that time or can’t go for some other reason, you might pass this information along to a minister or a friend. We need to take quite a few passengers to make such a big tour successful. You’ll see by the enclosure that you can buy this package “a la carte”. The different prices reflect different portions of the whole trip and we have arranged everything so that you may buy what you can afford or are most interested in. We are very conscious of your budgetary considerations these days. If you think you may be able to go on one part of this trip or on the whole tour, please send in for a proper brochure which will give you more details, pictures, etc., and a proper application form. As usual, our space is not exactly limited but we have to have a pretty good idea of how many people are going in order to make the proper reservations all along the line. As you can see from the enclosed, the entire tour makes a complete Bible journey, beginning in Egypt, continuing through the Holy Land and finally going out into the Empire (Ephesus, Patmos, Athens, Corinth, etc.). This is exactly the history of the Bible and if it were possible I wish each and every one of you could go on the entire tour. I will lead the tour personally and will be teaching most every night on the magnificent things that we will see. Needless to say, it greatly helps this ministry when you travel with us and we do all of our own work. Experienced travelers will see that our prices are considerably lower than those of the average travel agency because we have cut out the “middle man”. We deal directly with Israeli agencies for all of our travel arrangements and therefore you are not paying commissions to local arrangers and so forth. You simply get more tour at less cost and you greatly assist this ministry in the process.

In the meanwhile, thanks again for all of your gifts and for keeping up with your pledges. We are now in the comfortable position of being able to plan ahead and we very much like what we see. The only brighter future I can imagine is if the Lord were to come immediately and then we could all go together to a wonderfully restored Israel where He will be King.

God bless every one of you. Your ministry goes on!
