A New York delegation makes a meaningful trip to Israel

Israel, under near-incessant siege from Hamas terrorist rockets — and a second layer of attack from critics who challenge its basic right to defend itself from those rockets — can use all the shows of solidarity it can get.
Which is why Gov. Cuomo, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, and Senate co-leaders Dean Skelos and Jeff Klein should be applauded for their timely visit to the Jewish state.
Joining them: fashion designer and Cuomo brother-in-law Kenneth Cole and Daily News Chairman and Publisher Mort Zuckerman.
Yes, Cuomo and the Legislature have plenty of work waiting for them when they get back home. Politics will quickly resume the moment they return on Thursday.
For now, this simple show of support for an embattled friend speaks volumes.
