An Asian female elephant has given birth to her first baby calf at the Ramat Gan Safari park zoo near Tel Aviv.

Footage filmed at the zoo showed the female Asian elephant calf enjoying a cooling shower with its mother before clambering unsteadily onto its feet.
The calf, who has yet to be named, weighed 177 lbs (80 kg) when she was born on Friday, August 2 at the Ramat Gan Safari park zoo near Tel Aviv.
Asian elephants are classed as an endangered species, with around 30,000 living in the wild.
