There were times in my ministry when I wanted to give up, but I would hear something from him that caused me to be encouraged to hold on and do things the way of the Bible. Zola was one of the first television teachers that I watched when I was saved in the late 90s and even though I was a baby in Christ, I knew that he spoke the truth. Today I am watching archived footage of Zola with great joy and a longing to see him in Heaven. I wish I could have made one of his tours and had a chance to speak to him in person and I am sure I am not alone in this sentiment. I watch the current show with my wife or alone and can still feel the same spirit of love and joy that makes me want to be a part of the Levitt ministry ( If only I had something of value to offer :) ) Perhaps one day My wife and I will be able to join one of the tours and at least have the chance to be a small part of something that has not only touched our lives but lives around the world. He was a really well-educated man, articulate and well-traveled, and although I don't subscribe to his spiritual viewpoint, I would watch his show periodically and never failed to learn something about the Middle East. He was also my cousin Hal Levitt's brother and although I knew little of their family history, I felt as if I was watching someone I knew anyway. He always seemed to be at peace, at least on camera. I have just found out that Zola died.
