Model of the Second Temple
Model of the Second Temple

The Second Temple was built in 20 B.C. by Herod the Great, though the surrounding outer courts were not completed until A.D. 64. The Temple was destroyed by Titus in the year A.D. 70.

It was 15 stories high (100 cubits high and 100 cubits wide) and was completed in 18 months.

This photo is of a small portion of a reconstruction of the city of Jerusalem, built at the site of the future Holy Land Hotel. This 1:50 scale model of the city occupies a quarter of an acre of land and is an exact copy of Jerusalem during the time of Christ. Research and construction of the model took seven years. Corrections are made to the model when new archeological evidence reveals new information.
